Well I think if you have enough extra money in to cover your rebuy then it shouldn't matter. Though I wouldn't think you'd be warned then either so I don't know

The 4 day trades thing marking you as a day trader will apply either way if you have < $25000 in the account though as I understand it

Yes. If you have enough to cover your repurchase then youre fine. Youll get a warning regardless. I always get them even when I have enough. I confirmed this is merely an obligatory warning with Vanguard.

I'm actually back to a net positive on my investments after a strong surge by Amazon.

I'm still way below where I was before coronavirus but it will come back. I just wish I had the capital to invest while the market was down.

Objectively speaking, why dont I put $100,000 into any airline and not look at it for at least one year? Isnt that guaranteed to nearly double it?

I would think so. I guess you want to look at which companies have the most room to grow, which I'm not sure what that would be

No. Look at how much money people have already put back into the market since the sell-off.

The airlines are a safe bet to go up, there are few of them and basically no chance of upcoming competition, not to mention cheaper fuel prices for a bit.

But air travel isn't just going to reverse course right back to normal.

Airline stocks are a safe bet to go up considerably but double in a year is unlikely.

So...50% in a year? Still pretty good.

Hopefully?

30% would be fine.

With my airlines I'm looking for good 3 to 5 year growth so I'm not really concerned.

Also i leveraged a little bit more of my long term funds into SPLG(this is a lower expense version of SPY) when the markets were near their lowest point today.

My friend told me that the best case scenario is that Highpoint doesnt go bankrupt so I'm gonna pass on it I wish everyone good luck hitting the 25 cent mark or something

a quick google says they have a shitload of debt they owe in 2022 and were counting on oil prices being at a certain point to pay it down and they have basically no hope of that now.

Well my friend works for Halliburton (or rather, was furloughed) in Texas and knows someone who literally works for Highpoint.

I really don't know much about it but I know he's very good at the stock exchange and he's also somewhat informed on it, so I'm not putting any money into it (I had a buy order for a sizable chunk). I wish everyone luck in getting their 7 cent gain on it though.

GameStop is having a day lol

Just made $70 off PRU. I put $70k into it and it hit my stop in like one minute after a decent rise. Whatever.

Amazon is at an all time high. It could continue. Theyre safe regardless. Id take the profit though and invest elsewhere.

Screw GameStop. I hate them and dont trust their stock.

I honestly believe that Im putting such a large amount of money into these smaller stocks that Im driving the price to go up which is making other people sell and in turn the price drops, thus screwing myself. Every time I put money in, the stock drops. Then I sell, and it goes back up.

BK is the bank Im going into now. I like WFC and wont sell but their mortgage assets arent gonna be great for a few quarters.

BK works on fees and when all this short squeezing comes I feel like they are a good hedge against mortgage banks

Eventually I said fuck it, and sold for a couple hundred dollar loss. Literally the second I sold it, it began booming. Is it possible that the $80k large amount I put in held the stocks value down, and once I sold is why I went back up? Or was it simply bad timing? Ive seen this happen with every stock I invested in since I put over $70k into them.

If you were playing big enough to impact the market, buying would make it go up and selling would make it go down. But with a company like Amazon 80k is probably not enough to have any impact on it.
