You're welcome. I mean, there's a reason why BABE BRAWL is still going on and a lot of others aren't, right? That's one that never runs out of steam. You just keep fueling it which always makes me happy. Plenty of hot women in that!

I think the reason we don't interact much is time zones. I'm not the most active while at work and it takes me forever to write posts up because I, y'know, have to focus on work or I get in trouble. And when I get home, you're already in bed.

Books... well, I like anything by John Green (Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars being his two most notable), though I've yet to read his most recent. I generally gravitate toward young adult stuff (another is Speak, which just got rereleased as a graphic novel), but I've read some Agatha Christie and liked it. I need to read more, to be honest. Any recommendations?

Games... gosh, where to start? My top ten includes two Zelda titles (Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess), Tales of the Abyss, Persona 4, Saints Row 2... and I don't even know what else anymore. I like a lot of Japanese games, as you can tell. I enjoy pretty much every genre except first-person shooters. What about you?

I don't watch much anime. Only one I watched the entirety of recently was Eden of the East, which was pretty good. I think that's a byproduct of me not caring for most TV in general. Only show I watch religiously - and I mean obsessively, really - is Survivor. Are there any anime that are must-watch? Preferably 1-2 typical anime seasons (aka 24ish episodes at most). Thanks!

Yes, indeed. My active times here are usually in the 3-9 AM EST range and sometimes an hour or two around this time. And I barely post on weekends. But we can talk here in this topic, which is good.

Haven't read any of your favourites... Looking for Alaska sounds fun, maybe one day.

I recommend the Dune hexalogy and The Lord of the Rings. Not very original recommendation, I know, but they are beloved for a reason. Dune is the most thought-provoking fiction I've come across. It has really taught me a lot and influenced the way I see the world. Also, The Farseer books by Robin Hobb. Solid and original fantasy with lovable characters there.

I've only played OoT out of those, wasn't a fan. It's a solid game, but too much "by the book" for me. Majora's Mask was much more creative and fun. I've been getting into the Tales series (albeit at a time when I can only spare <5 hours a week for gaming...), liked Destiny and now I'm playing Vesperia. Played the first two Persona, soon enough (read: within the next 2-3 years) I'll get to 3 and then 4...

I mostly love RPGs and the Metal Gear series. Captain Tsubasa II is a great football/soccer RPG for NES, truly amazing game, especially for its time. Speaking of NES, the Nekketsu games are astonishing (you've probably heard of River City Ransom, there are a bunch of other games with the same characters). My more well-known favourites are Xenogears, Xenosaga, Final Fantasy VII and Tactics, Chrono Trigger. And of course, Metal Gear... Highly recommend it.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is by far the best anime... But it's very long, the main series is 110 episodes. It's about humanity in the future when we've colonised the stars. Two nations, the Galactic Empire with the monarch reigning supreme, and the Free Planets' Alliance - a democracy, are fighting for cosmic supremacy. It's mostly an anime about war and politics, and of course human relations.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (2 seasons, 26 episodes each) is also amazing and almost as thought-provoking. It's also about the future, albeit a near one (think 20 years from now), with cyborgised humans in a post-WW4 world. It's also about politics, terrorism, etc. The good guys are an elite Japanese police-like agency mostly dealing with terrorism and other threats to society. If not LoGH, watch this one, at least.

Both the last question and first are answered around the same sort of thing. On the board I occasionally come back to do ost stuff. Just ranking topics get me annoyed due to the activity of fans. I basically bitched at a couple readers because they didn't really make much of an effort to comment on their nominations. My daily stuff can be summed up with gaming, LPs, OSTs/sometimes anime OPs/EDs, anime itself. Not the most productive right now. Granted, being a seasonal anime watcher I'm probably a better option for recs... maybe find me in #gauntlet when you join the Discord.

Thinking of gauntlet... I should probably actually work on updates, I can finish an OST today if I listen to it while working on that. Thanks for getting me to chat, ahaha~

Like you, I don't have that much time (energy is a bigger problem at the moment, but come summer I'll be pretty busy), so reading some really long stuff like those is going to be tough. I might check out the first Dune and see where it goes from there.

I can agree that Majora's Mak was more creative and interesting, but my memories, both the good and the bad, are more with Ocarina of Time. I compare every Zelda to OoT - and only Twilight Princess fully measures up. Wind Waker is great until the last act. Fucking Tingle, that greedy bastard...

Yeah, read the first Dune and go from there if you get the time. It's by far the easiest read in the series... And it's still very thought-provoking, although 2 and 3 outdo it greatly in that aspect. 3 (Children of Dune) is my favourite book in the series. 4, 5 and 6 are also amazing, and 4 is remarkably different from the other 5 books - which fits greatly with the stage of the (hi)story it's talking about.

Do, do. I don't think they take the fun out. Especially if you've got a PSP. :) Nekketsu games are great for short spurts of play. Playing Captain Tsubasa II one match at a time also shouldn't take you more than 20-25 minutes per play session.

Persona 3, 4, and 5 are better than what I've seen of 1 and 2. I haven't cared to play those two, just the three more recent.

First one is a dud, but Persona 2 was a really good game. It's a 2-part game actually, 2 games telling half of the story each. The music was also quite good. I really enjoyed Persona 2, and I find it hard to believe 3 and 4 outdo it like people claim. But we'll see.

Yes. It's hard to dedicate so much time. I watched Legend of the Galactic Heroes with my wife, 1-2 episodes at a time in the evening (whenever the opportunity arose), and it took us almost a year to go through it all. I say watch the first two episodes (they lay out the foundation of the story nicely) and if you really like them, go on.

As for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, since you asked for ~26-episode ones, you can watch it 1 season (26 episodes) at a time. No big deal if you watch the second season much later - it's a separate story.
