For me, it was TimeShift. It was one of my first PS3 games and I was really excited for it, but it was boring as hell. I never got far in it because it was so unenjoyable to play.

It especially sucked because I bought it with money I had gotten from trading a bunch of much better PS2 games

The Phantom Pain let me down big time, it should've been the cap to an amazing series but instead it was bogged down with repetitive missions and a startling lack of story and interesting characters.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Super Paper Mario wasn't a great game, but it still had Paper Mario's bizarre charm and "let's just do whatever the fuck we want" attitude, it felt like a weird experimental turn in the series that was somewhat a mess but still had some intriguing qualities to it. Sticker Star just gutted the heart and soul of the series, being aggressively paint-by-numbers in the NSMB tradition with no imagination behind it, with some of the most embarrassingly broken mechanics I've ever seen in an rpg, with a second half of the game so rushed that it feels completely unfinished. What the fuck happened. (Color Splash isn't much of an improvement, and has established Sticker Star as the new normal, which is bad)

Super Mario 64 DS after Super Mario 64 hurt too, though some of that is playing a DS launch game a decade after the fact.

Final Fantasy XII

maybe would have said ME Andromeda but being on the Internet made me have no expectations at all for that game so i can't say i was disappointed by the time i played it. didn't make it that far though before Persona took over.

i guess Brawl because the hype going into that was pretty immense.

Valkyrie Chronicles!....until That One Level.

But I think the winner is Dangan Ronpa V3. Akamatsu was possibly my favorite out of the whole series. Saehara was possibly my least favorite out of the whole series. I did not take the end of chapter one well, nor could I get on board for an entire game of Naegi-Except-Lame PoV.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for PS2. Finished it in one sitting and returned it the next day. Even though it was 2D it just wasn't very good.

Probably Parasite Eve 2.

MGSV could qualify if you want to measure by peak excitement from initial announcement, but I followed enough of the shit leading up to it that it honestly exceeded my expectations at release. They were pretty low.

Super Mario 64, unlike Zelda it ages horribly and controlling a lot of what's going on is awful. Mostly camera/Wing Cap are the biggest offenders that make the game fairly unplayable if you didn't play it in the N64 era.

Yoshi's Story at the time. I've warmed back up to it since, but 9 year-old me was upset about it.

I haven't experienced much disappointment with games, though.

Radiatta Stories. The general tone and character design clashed with me HARD.

Breath of the Wild.

Not because it's a bad game, despite its flaws it isn't, but because I went into the game with my only expectation/hope being "This will still feel like a Zelda game" and it didn't do that simple thing.

Rogue Legacy

Everyone called it a great roguelike metroidvania, with a fun genetic lineage system. It's neither a good roguelike nor a good metroidvania, and the genetic stuff isn't nearly as exciting as it's made out to be.

Yokai Watch is a decent answer too, but fortunately I was disappointed by the demo and never got the full game.
