I'd say that one, just to get something economic in there. Other options along the same line would work.

Ignoring option 1, I went with 4, minority group safety.

It's literally my job.

#5 was my catch-all (or most...) economic one, but I focused it on the rising disparity of income between the top and bottom, and how 50 years of Republican tax cuts have emptied our Treasury and left an ever-increasing % of our spending just towards paying interest on the debt, which will eventually become unsustainable.

Didn't really cover Greedflation enabled by mergers and acquisitions and lax federal oversight. But you can't cover all economic issues in one option and I didn't just want a vague meaningless "The Economy" option.

I agree that one makes the most sense, though I think weed's gotten the most requests thus far, lol

A benevolent dictatorship is probably the best form of government when it actually occurs. A competent leader that wants to help his people w/o the gridlock of a legislative body and political bs and arguing can do amazing things. Lee Kuan Yew is an incredible figure, probably one of the greatest men to ever live.
The problem is the VAST majority won't be "benevolent" and even the ones that are can easily change, especially when the original leader passes away and someone else takes his place.

IMO, the ideal government is a "constitutional monarchy", where one leader has control for the most part, but there's an elected legislature and courts to overrule or impeach him if he becomes evil.
Of course that term itself has a very broad meaning and a lot of modern Western "democracies" are actually constitutional monarchies except the monarch has little to no power.

The status quo in the current world is that you can fund proxies without much consequence. Iran directly attacking Israel would be a huge escalation and risk for them.
It probably still wouldn't be Iran directly. Those cowards will just have Hezbollah invade or something, like usual.
Which would still be a major threat since they've spent 2 decades arming the shit out of Hezbollah for this.
Hezbollah's arsenal is the most succinct, direct, obvious answer to "why does Israel secure the borders of Gaza?" Why? Look at what Hezbollah has. That shit would be in Gaza too, if they didn't.

I just hope it doesn't take much more deaths for Biden to finally strike back at Iran directly, instead of symbolically hitting their bases in Yemen and Syria after giving them a one week heads up to leave. He's been ridiculously weak on Iran, hopefully just so when they finally cross whatever "red line" he has in his head (apparently it's not sinking commercial vessels, killing merchant crews, or killing a bunch of American soldiers, so I'm not sure where the line is, but yeah....), he can point to how fucking soft he was on them to prove he's not just a warmonger and they brought it on themselves...

Idk, its shit in places and neighborhoods where people prefer to live. I think a lot of people arent willing to lower their standards for a starter home.
Sure wasn't my experience when I was looking whether to buy or build a house.

Could get a "starter" house that was 80-100 years old, ~1200 sq. ft, in need of some repairs and generally a bit worn down due to age (but w/ some renovations for flooring/counters), no garage, townhouse or condo (shared walls), etc....

OR could spend 40-50% more and get a house built within the last few decades, twice the size, full garage and driveway, detached w/ a yard, no fixing up needed, plainly higher quality overall.

The amount "more" you got from buying past the bottom of the price listings was absolutely crazy. Unless you straight up can't afford a mortgage for the next tier up of housing, I have no idea why anyone would choose the "starter" house.

My real estate agent explained that the trend I noticed was true. Starter homes offer the absolute crappiest "return on investment" and outrageous "cost per square foot" because:
a) there aren't many starter homes on the market so competition for them is fiercer
b) starter homes are seen as a "good investment" b/c they can be quickly and easily re-sold so a lot get bought up by house flippers (who can also get the most bang for their buck renovating a run down starter home to sell for more vs. more costly houses)
c) While not having a yard and being smaller reduce building costs somewhat, you still can't escape a lot of basic costs like utilities, foundation, government fees, etc... that any building will incur. Larger homes can "spread out" those base costs over their larger square footage, small starter homes cannot

TL;DR: No, quite the opposite. Starter homes are very hot sellers b/c some people need to take the cheapest thing they can get and investors like to flip them, so people being "unwilling to lower their standards" is not the issue.

In less than 6 months, Israel has racked up about 30-40% of the civilian death toll that the US managed in 20 years post-9/11, and in that time the US managed to kill more enemy combatants than civilians, while I'm not sure Israel's even broken triple digits yet. To equivocate what were largely accidents (albeit careless accidents for which the US deserves ample criticism) to what Israel is doing now is either staggeringly ignorant or a deliberate pro-genocide statement. Take your pick.

Israel has lost ~ 600 IDF soldiers thus far in <6 months of fighting.
America lost 2459 military deaths in two decades in Afghanistan.
Israel has racked up 25% of the combat death toll that the US managed in 20 years in Afghanistan, in less than 6 months.

Weird how you only like to compare figures when you think it'll help your case and ignore the rest.
It's almost like urban combat in one of the most densely populated regions on Earth w/ enemies that hide amongst the civilian population is really fucking difficult.
At least in Afghanistan the enemy was mostly relegated to isolated caves/mountains and not 100% embedded in the urban populace.

And implying Israel "hasn't even broken triple digits yet" for enemy combatants is either staggeringly ignorant or a deliberate pro-Hamas statement. Take your pick.

Shanath in Baten Kaitos Origins is another major one, even if they tried to make him slightly sympathetic at the very end. Dude frames you for assassinating the emperor, causes you trouble and wrecks you throughout the game, rips your mom's wings out of her back, and is the most condescending smug prick about it all the entire time. It felt SO GOOD to finally kick his ass!

Any Samurai Warriors game where you can actually kill Ieyasu Tokugawa is greatly appreciated, too. They almost never let you kill him, and other games based on the Sengoku period pretty much never do or make his side the protagonists.

Luca Blight from Suikoden II and Algus from FFT are also great examples.

Reddit has seemed especially shit lately.

If i am in a subreddit and click on a post, then go back to the prior page.... Before it was a quick and clean process, like most webpages where going back it's still in your cache or whatever.
But now loading basically any reddit page is like you're visiting it for the first time and the entire site re-loads on you. Which means not only does it take noticeably longer (3-4 seconds instead of 1 second at most), but when you go back to the subreddit page, you're back at the top of the list instead of where you left off.
It's honestly really fucking annoying and I haven't seen anyone else complaining about it, so I didn't know if it was a reddit problem or a "you haven't updated Firefox in a long time and it's finally coming back to haunt you" problem.

(Also, this has gone on for months now, but the fucking "2023 New" design -- not to be confused w/ the "New Reddit" design that predated it -- is there any time you click on a user profile now. I have the good "new" design for subreddits and posts, but if I want to scroll thru a user's posts or something, it's the awful new-er design, which hogs way more space and loads fucking horribly....like the god damn site pretty much freezes if you dare scroll too far down. I'd love to know how to make it go away. I tried replacing "www." with "new." in the address like I saw some suggest, but that doesn't work)

So no, I don't really buy the excuse that Biden had no choice to do everything exactly as it happened because Trump said we were going to do it when he was still president.

Remember when Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal, and how it permanently ruined any credibility of the US to enter into a new agreement, since the next guy could just renege on it anyway?
