President Bidens reelection campaign announced Monday that it will aim to flip Florida, targeting the home of former President Trump.

This is a waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere.

Why? Florida deserves its mess

I disagree. It's good to spend money in Florida, especially with Abortion and Weed being on the ballot. Abortion gets women to the polls and weed gets the younger crowd. Take advantage of that.

If anything this stops Republicans from financing other races across the country.

Tremendous opportunity this year in FL, but the FL Democratic party is a fucking clown show and DNC needs to clean house ASAP for any money being spent to actually matter.

Please remember that one of the key reasons Crist didn't stand a chance against DeSantis was that Crist's campaign was flat broke for almost a month leading up to the election, and DeSantis had pots of money to throw around on local community outreach.

He was also a Republican that no one wanted. At least Gillum presented as progressive - someone who people can actually get behind.

While as a Texan, I definitely agree that these states shouldn't be abandoned as lost causes, the rot is very deep in states like this. Loss leads to fatalism which leads to fear, incompetence, and corruption from state parties. It's hard to fix that from the top down within the context of one election cycle, with fascism as the consequence for failure.

I hope they pull it off if they're really going to go for it, because getting Texas and Florida could be what it takes to shatter the Republican Party. But the opportunity cost of putting resources there could be immense. The main thing that gives me hope is abortion directly being on the ballot.

The reason Crist didn't stand a chance is because Florida is the beating heart of America's politicized Evangelical movement.

Focus on NC. If we're such a purple state, then it shouldn't take even half as much to flip this state blue.

Honestly, this seems like a bad move and a waste of resources. The Dem party of FL could be the most poorly run in the country, DeSantis won by a huge margin, and the state has only shifted more Red over time. I get the logic, but FL is lost.

North Carolina needs to be on the list (and the article does mention this, thankfully). It's been an almost 50/50 state for years and years now, it always baffles me why Dems don't put more focus here, since it's already teetering on the edge. And Texas makes more sense than FL, given it's slow march to Purple. Holding AZ and GA also need to be moves. All of those make way more sense than trying to go for FL.

Abortion on the ballot in Florida this November definitely changes my opinion. They have to make a play for Florida now.

Should be Texas, we are closer to purple than Florida.

Why is this an either or situation? Biden currently has the most money on hand of any politician ever at this point in election season.
