If you're standing, it's going to be more physically intensive (although honestly not as intensive as stocking shelves at retail because there's a wider range of movement) but it's certainly not mentally draining when compared to a lot of pink and white collar jobs. As far as emotionally and mentally draining work goes, something like a call center certainly stands out. Call centers in general are scummy, though. The one I worked while in college would force you to show up 15 minutes before your shift to set up before making calls -- unpaid, of course, which is probably illegal -- and would time your bathroom breaks.

I worked at a call center for 2 year and fast food for a little less than one. I'd take call center work over fast food any day of the week and I am a guy who gets anxious talking to people over the phone.

It's really not bad at all and there's not really any pain. It's just slightly annoying having to deal with eyedrops all the time until your eyes heal. After a week my eyes didn't feel weird anymore and I could see perfectly.

After a month I forgot I ever had glasses at all.

My main concern is transportation. The center doing it is about 2 hours away. And it is on a Wednesday. So I don't really have a ton of options for getting back from it in time to do my follow up appointment with my eye doctor the next day.

If I go by bus I will be back after their latest available appointment. If I drive, I can spend the night in a hotel, but my eyes might not be well enough for the trip the next day. Some say it is fine, some say it is better to wait a week.

Flying is too expensive to entertain as a possibility, and I don't know if anyone can take off that day to drive me.

I still have a few options, but I need to wait until Monday to see which will work best. My optometrist said they may be able to push the follow up appointment to the next day, but I should double check with the surgeon first.

1) apply, if your boss has a problem with it just say that you just wanted to show that you are interested in staying with the department and moving up, ready to take on new challenges.

You either move up or a good boss will start helping you figure out what you need to move up.

It is something I try to do, but I am pretty comfortable with most things around here, so unless I move, not a ton of opportunity in my daily life.

Off the top of my head there are two businesses I am uncomfortable trying. Parachuting at the airport and a new hatchet throwing business that just opened up, but that one is only uncomfortable because of the price. It is $20 a person an hour and the lanes are only about 10 feet long. They don't serve food, they only have bags of chips and cans of soda.

The food is ok,but for the price, you don't get a lot of food. Would rather go to most other burger joints. The more expensive places have far better burgers and the cheaper places are not much worse, but you get a lot more food for less money. So only end up eating there once in a blue moon.

I mean you could, but have you ever tried to pay for things with dollar coins or half dollar coins or 2 dollar bills? It is not uncommon for young cashiers to think they are counterfeits, or are worth different amounts than they are. One had a mcdonald's cashier a few susan b anthony coins and he thought they were quarters. Had to get a manager involved for him to take them.

How is this considered a "classic"? In my 40+ years of life, I have literally never heard of anyone grilling/toasting a PB&J. Toasting the bread before making it, sure, but never tossing the whole thing in a pan.
