Most of the canidates dont promote themselves. Spent the last week trying to find out about the canidate's ideas and policies. The most I could fine was a facebook page of the incumbant with almost no information about their plans for office, just bullet points on why they are qualified.

Its not like they didnt know guns would get better and more efficient. They still thought the people had a right to defend themselves from the government. Now whether you wpuld still be able to is a different story. There is also the police to consider. If the police have become militarized you may not need to fight an army, but if a local sherrif gets too big for his britches there is a possibility of needing to fight off local police.

If there were that many toll roads, there'd be some kind of pass system that meant people didn't need to keep coins around or stop every five feet.

At that point you may need several passes or you would need to pay someone to allocate the funds between different owners, or a top up card. whichever way you look at it though it is a cruddy deal. And what about food delivery. How much will that go up if you have to spend money going from house to house.

once, I called out 3 times in one month. Once because my car broke down and twice for being sick. Per policy they fired me, but gave me a good reference to my next job and I had a new job within a week.

Hard of hearing has been their prefered term since at least the 90s. That said, my brother is hard of hearing and I dont think he cares if he is called hard of hearing or hearing impaired and I doubt most others care on an individual level, but I can see why they would care if a news paper or a theatre get it right.

My first response to this is that it is fine. A convicted cp user getting the option to be castrated or a habitual drug user not wanting to birth unwanted kids etc, but this case was about a fraudulent cheuqe.

Even if the lady was a drug user that had nothing to do with the case. So we have a judge deciding someone in his court shouldnt reproduce and used his position of power to strong arm her by having her choose between years in jail or having kids.

In the hands of a corrupt judge this kind of power is terrifying.

Hate them both, hate snow more than mowing grass, but I hate mowing grass more than shoveling snow. But mowing grass is something you will have to do about once a week no matter what, while shoveling snow is something you may only need to do 3 or 4 times all winter if it is a dry winter or light snows that melt or get blown away in the wind the next day. plus you can get a snow blower and be done with it relatively quickly.

Even if the restaurant wants to keep some of the tips the waiters get. They still have to make sure the waiters get minimum wage. So why not just pay the waiters minimum wage and raise our food costs a little. At that point it is effectively the same thing. You can't even argue people will work harder for the bigger tip, if there is no guarantee they are going to get the tip anyway.

I believe in the constitution. The nazi man has a right to be a piece of trash and have his views heard. The cop has the right to call the man an idiot and promote just as loudly on why the guy is an idiot. The cop does not have the right to break into the man's locked property, steal his possessions, and shut down his freedom of speech, the nazi also does not have the right to break into a black guy's house steal their possession and tell them they can't promote their views.

But even if he did, it would be as a private citizen and he would face community service or possibly jail time. The cop is in uniform, representing the people and the government in a position of authority. Not only should he be fired, I would be ok with him getting jail time. IF he did it off the clock in civilian clothes, I would probably be ok with a fine and probation while still being concerned at what other laws he doesn't put much stock in.

The purpose of it is to make something uncomfortable, if a bench is uncomfortable the people using the bench will be uncomfortable. Don't make your average citizen uncomfortable just because you don't want to provide homeless people with a proper shelter even though providing them with shelter has been shown to save money.
