I've been saying it for the last 4 years and it's obvious that Biden is not going to do any better than barely scrape by and probably won't even do that, so I think I'm entitled to an "I told you so," whether or not Trump ends up pulling this one out. The Democrats ran the exact same campaign as 2016, and they're getting a very similar result. That should not be a surprise. If you want a different result, you need to listen to the electorate and change your strategy.

Ive been saying Trump repeats. I think it got down to a coin flip but back in his favor with the riots. Its not a fun thing to say.

So I'm thinking Trump wins and the story is going to be "people who didn't vote in 2016 ended up voting for Trump in 2020". It's a narrow win for him. I saw a stat that we have more new voter registrations for people age 50+ than we do under 30.

The two big issues (I have no data for this, just my dumb brain)

1. Riots (this favors Trump quite a bit)
2. Tweets / nature of discourse (this favors Biden quite a bit - I think the rise in popularity with women and Biden getting rid of attack ads is really smart on his part)
3. Covid - this I think is a wash oddly enough.

the feds scooped up the PPE and distributed to places like Montana and Alaska while MA and NY got 1/30th of the fear per case of those states.

the cynic in me figures Trump gambled that this would actually go away in the late spring and the blue states would be the ones that looked bad. I dont know why else the feds would outbid hard hit states.

Our second grader really needs to go back to school. The third grader can probably make it until the vaccines but the cancellation of outside activities and limited socialization has taken a toll. The fifth grader will be fine. I really would like the kids to go to school, but, I also don't want the school to be a mess and teachers not buying in, kids messing with masks and not being able to get real socialization etc. I worry for school faculty.

We also don't have plans for things like "if a kid has a sick family member, do they have to stay home? how will they make up time?" and so on. We still have time to iron out plans, but what I've seen so far is poorly thought out. It's been hard to find good discussion because it's become so politicized about the election/economy.

If I had 90k to invest...

65k into VOO
find 10 stock that I like and put 2 grand into each. like NEWR, A, CLX, AAPL, MSFT, ABBV, PFE, XOM, BK, etc.

pretty much leave all of that alone (maybe sell XOM because I think clean energy is a 'concern')

Then the final 5k into growth or meme or whatever. Don't FOMO stuff - if people made money on GNUS the day before, don't buy GNUS today. Buy some TSLA, if it bursts, oh well. it's a small % of your money just used for growth and for keeping you busy. It was fun to say "yeah I invested in MRNA cha-ching!" even if it wasn't very much money.

I'm honestly just "neonreaper" on gamefaqs.com. for all you know I haven't invested in a single thing.
