I just started watching that. Hilarious.

I also started reading WAFF manga "I'm Nearly 30, But This is My First Love," which is exactly what it says. 28 year old Yuumi has never been in a relationship, and meets and begins dating 32 year old Kanata, who seems moe mature and experienced... but secretly has also never dated anyone before. It's super adorable, but their two friends eventually kind of steal the spotlight with their own relationship.

I got my masks and bodysuit delivered so my criminal cosplay is all ready. I only ordered three of the five masks available since shipping was so fucking stupid expensive for no reason; the three masks came in one damn envelope.

I've been really feeling the convention drought lately. I normally go to 2-3 cons a year, there haven't been any in my area since 2019. Wizard World was already losing interest in having Comic Con in my town so I'd bet that's gone for good, and one of the locally based cons has shifted focus away from conventions for a while because it was a big money drain on them. (They're mainly a charity focused on child literacy through pop culture. I still like to volunteer with them every once in a while because I like the concept.)

The local anime convention is back this year, but I hit a snag in my cosplay plans. I wanted to dress as the killer/black silhouette from Detective Conan:

But shipping is ridiculous for that site. I wanted to get all five masks, but they'd charge $60 for shipping; more than the price of the masks themselves. I could make a damn mask myself for much less than that.

I've got a couple of new coworkers that are into anime, and between them mentioning what they're into and my brother asking me for recommendations, I started to realize I don't watch much action series anymore. They're all heavy on shows like Jujutsu Kaisen, Hunter, One Fairy Tail and One Punch Man, and most of what I watch or read lately is drama, comedy, romance, or slice of life. It's kind of a weird feeling being much more into anime/manga in general yet being left out when they talk about those shows.

Started reading Dragon Ball Sai, a doujin manga where instead of Kakarot getting sent to Earth as a baby, Vegeta does. He winds up becoming a jerkass hero, then when Kakarot arrives on Earth, they have an interesting dynamic where Kakarot, a low class, is resentful of Vegeta, the prince, for wasting his potential being on a weak planet and never training for real.

I really hate it when games lock you out of content, especially just based on your performance and not actual choices/decisions. That's one little thing I like about Kingdom Hearts games; nothing is ever missable, barring an occasional glitch.

I'm not particularly into it, but I've read material that goes into all the care, work, respect and trust involved, and I've got total respect for it. It's far from the simple "inflicting/receiving pain hawt" that a lot of people think it is.

So I wound up buying volumes 1-3 of that manga I was talking about earlier, but I held off on volume 4 because it cost a lot more. Then literally days after, a volume 1-4 bundle pops up for less than the price of just volume 4 anywhere else.

I never stopped wearing masks, but most people around here act like covid is a thing of the past. No masks, no distance, and I'd wager less than half of them are vaccinated. It's ridiculous because being vaccinated doesn't mean you can't catch or spread it.
