I have a bachelor's degree in math and I teach high school math for a living. So I'd say I'm pretty good at math. Although I'll be honest that a lot of my third and fourth year university math has been forgotten.

I see it as a continuation of the "eyes of Ganon" that some villagers allude to in Zelda II. I like the concept that there are some people that also side with Ganon, kind of like a silly version of how in Lord of the Rings there are humans that fought for Sauron.

The Yiga were sometimes a little too over the top, and particularly in BotW there seemed to be inconsistencies regarding how serious of a threat they are. Sometimes they were treated as a total joke but other times they were a very serious force to reckon with. TotK definitely made them more of a joke than anything which I suppose makes sense.

I just checked my Runescape account, I have over 2000 hours in it. I have two earlier accounts that likely had around 300 hours each, too.

Much of my current account is afk (I often play while I do stuff like marking tests). But I can guarantee even without afk that Runescape (particularly the Old School Runescape that exists now) is my most played game ever.

It's probably just Runescape and Ocarina of Time for me. Maybe Super Smash Bros Melee and Brawl, too.

I realized that I don't really care for 3D Mario anymore after Odyssey didn't impress me at all.

I'll agree. I've supported the Liberals in every election since 2015 but they really haven't done much good. The Conservatives are objectively worse though, especially now that we have Diet Ben Shapiro as their party leader.

Math is in a weird place in education. Far, far too few teachers recognize and explain its value as effectively running laps for your brain, which in turn leads to many students (especially those who don't inherently "get it") viewing it as pointless. Because of that, it's pretty common to just accept that some kids "aren't good at math" and letting them stagnate on the basics because the value of being able to learn and practice higher stuff isn't appreciated. In practice, though, almost everyone can learn basic math well enough to be able to practice the higher stuff, it just takes a different approach.

When students ask "when am I going to use this", I typically have a possible career connection to share but I mostly just say something along the lines of "we learn math in high school to train your brain to logically tackle problems that you didn't even know existed yesterday using both information you've previously obtained and brand new information. In that sense, you'll use the skills you learn here almost every day of your life".

Students generally are happy with that answer. Math gets a lot of scrutiny from students because of how abstract it can be, without understanding that it being abstract is the entire point.

Meanwhile the Gamecube had Melee, two 3D Zelda games, two 3D Metroid games, two 3D Pokemon games, Mario Sunshine, F-Zero GX which is still considered a good standard for racing games, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 1 and 2, and a ton more games.

People shit on the Gamecube and yet I'd go so far to say that no console that Sony or Microsoft has made since that generation even comes close to it. And the Switch is pretty much the closest Nintendo has come to outmatching it as well.

The game was kind of soulless but Link's design in it is still my favourite 3D design he's had so far.

In Tears of the Kingdom, I made sure to find all the Twilight Princess tunic pieces as soon as I could. One is locked behind a tough King Gleeok fight but it was totally worth it.

That's pretty sad, he supposedly beat his addiction issues a few years ago.

I'm a big cigar fan.

Don't use a standard lighter or Zippo to light it, it'll ruin the taste. That's the biggest thing I judge other cigar smokers over. It's the cigar equivalent of cooking a steak well done and putting ketchup on it.

You can use a butane torch lighter (ideal if you're anywhere with more than a light breeze), but honestly you should use wooden matches if possible (not the paper ones). Don't let the flame directly touch the cigar, but if you want to speed up the process, puff on the cigar while holding it about 1/4 inch from the flame, gently rotating it to ensure it lights evenly. It might take 2 or 3 matches to properly light it, especially if you're new. Don't "over light" it, otherwise it'll burn too hot and just taste like crap.

Once lit, only puff on it once every 30 to 60 seconds. Puffing too much will also make it burn too hot/fast and ruin the cigar. Hold the smoke in your mouth, and blow it out after a couple seconds. Don't inhale/swallow it, you'll choke and look like a noob. Something to try every now and then is to exhale the smoke out of your nose, it adds a very interesting flavour experience.

And honestly, if your clients are getting you a cigar, I'm sure you can ask them for advice, too. Could be a good bonding experience I guess.

The only reason for that is that you get to see your arrow fly through the air and hit something, as opposed to bullets, which just disappear. Arrows are much more satisfying imo.

Way cheaper, too. Shooting guns feels like flushing money down the toilet.

You can't claim TP is the worst Zelda when Four Swords Adventure, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and Skyward Sword all exist. I'd also say that Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 are worse, too.

When you move in, you and the landlord should each have a signed (by both) form indicating any material latent defects. The last apartment I was in tasked me with creating the list during my first few days there, so my ass was covered when it came to moving out years later and there were dozens of little nail holes in the walls.

At the end of the tenancy, fully clean the apartment, take photos (even better as a power move, do it with your landlord in the pictures as they are doing the final inspection), and keep professional cleaning receipts. Unless you caused other damage, you should get 100% of your security deposit back. If you don't, it would be an easy win in small claims court.

I don't think I've ever heard of her before, but good God, I don't understand how anyone thinks it's okay for someone that old to remain in politics. Anything over 70 is too old for politics, 90 is absurd.

Firefox on mobile used to suck ass for a long time, but they got their act together around 2014 and have been the best by far ever since.

It's a huge shame that Gamefreak/The Pokemon Company doesn't actually put an effort into making good games. I refuse to buy any Pokemon games until they decide to take their time and develop something good.

I've long said that they should just make a 2D game with realistic background environments but retro sprites for characters. Kind of like Octopath Traveller, but I've said that since before Octopath Traveller was even a thing. The development time would be pretty short (which is obviously what they want) and would be much less prone to glitches and performance issues.

Canada has a far greater technological and logistical advantage. Canadian troops would absolutely walk circles around Indian troops assuming equally sized deployments.

India obviously has a human numbers advantage, to the point where it very possibly could mobilize a military that outnumbers Canada's full population. Furthermore, India is a nuclear weapons state (although Canada could become one in a matter of weeks).

Neither country would have even a remote chance of a successful land invasion.
