I don't know.

I don't feel like gaming has changed much since like 2014. Things like microtransactions and early access have done serious damage to gaming, but both of those were widespread in 2014 already.

I can't think of much positive developments in gaming, aside from Nintendo finally merging their console and handheld platforms into one system. Hopefully they never go back.

I don't know if "offensive" is the right word, it's just creepy and gross. Anyone that would use that word unironically would probably strike me as being a sociopath.

BBT has its moments, but most of what I've seen isn't particularly funny. Two and a Half Men was the better Chuck Lorre show, but I've found that it hasn't aged well (not to mention that it took a nosedive after Charlie Sheen was fired for going berserk).

I've seen a lot of RTX comparison videos, and none have ever wowed me. Usually there is little to no perceptible difference to me, and when there is, it usually just looks like someone turned up the brightness or contrast on the screen.

With the Gen 7 consoles in the mid 2000s, I think the diminishing returns of graphics card power vs actual graphical output was beginning to become clear. Games that released 10 to 15 years ago don't really look significantly worse than games in the last 5 years. Nintendo Wii games are an exception for obvious reasons, of course.

Graphics don't "wow" me anymore. If companies are focusing on technical advancements, I'm more concerned with consistent frame rates, fast loading times, and quick accessibility. Hibernation mode on consoles was the most underappreciated feature of the Gen 8 consoles.

Microtransactions were so overwhelmingly in your face in Runescape around 2012 that I straight up quit playing until they brought back Old School Runescape.

This was Johnsonville brand. I opened the pack like on Monday. They expired Thursday but seemed fine yesterday so I cooked the hell out of them. They tasted okay, definitely not fresh but still edible.

I've not looked into any of his lore beyond what's in the show (the sub, not the dub obviously) and what's in the Fresh Prince manga.

On another note, I've often wondered/worried about the long term future of the only MMO I play, Old School Runescape. Inevitably it'll some day shut down. I feel like there will always be at least several thousand people who will continue to want to play it, but I just don't know what that looks like long term (who will host the servers, who will maintain it, etc).

Probably never, but I've mostly already lost interest in new games. I just replay old stuff over and over. Which is a shame, because usually when I play something new, I really enjoy it (BotW, Stardew Valley, and AC:NH are all great examples from the last few years).

I chipped one of my front teeth on a snowboarding field trip when I was 12. Never got a cap for it or anything.

I doubt anyone saw the Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life remake coming, wtf. I loved that game but the remake looks every bit as rough around the edges as the Gamecube version was.

What I'd like to see:

• Release date and title for BotW 2, launching late 2022 or early 2023
• A 2D Zelda in the works, launching summer 2023
• A new Mario game that actually looks decent
• Gamecube and/or Game Boy games are coming to NSO

What we'll probably see:

• BotW 2 has been delayed indefinitely. They won't say it but we'll know it'll be a planned launch title for the next Nintendo console in 2024. "Please understand".
• Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD will be ported to the Switch. This would be great news if it weren't for the fact they're selling them at full price and are separate games, not bundled together.
• Literal heaps of weeb stuff like Xenoblade or Fire Emblem
• A weirdly long segment on a third party game that doesn't even look good
• Price increase for NSO. Please understand.

Yeah that third one I posted is probably the way to go for me. I'll think about it more tomorrow. I have a desktop PC already so there's no rush, but a new laptop would be nice. I just want it to be reasonably quick and last a long time.

I don't need anything super high end, but I also don't want a piece of shit that barely runs.

From what I've been able to research, for these processor models, the i5 is the best of these 3, while the i3 and the Ryzen 3 are closely matched, with the i3 likely a bit better.

Here's another Lenovo to compete with the first one. It has a different processor and twice as much SSD storage.

I've done more research, a very common complaint about the Acer is that after about a year the battery dies. Seems very common. I'll continue to mull this over.

And yeah I'm leaning towards that one, even with the slightly higher price. Acer is pretty mediocre but that's what my old one is, and it's lasted 8 years.

The processor and the screen also sound much better on that one. I use my laptop outside a lot, my old screen is miserable outdoors (especially compared to my phone screen). I can't find much info about the Lenovo at all, but one of the common praises about this Acer is that it has a great screen.

My current laptop is a low tier one from 2014 and it 100% is circling the drain. Staples has a sale on plus a promotion for $50 off any purchase of $500 or more for teachers, now's probably a good time. I've narrowed it down to two.

Prices are in Canadian dollars so any Americans reading this can just pretend the prices in US dollars are like 25% lower than what you see here.

I basically lived off of Little Caesars Hot N Ready pizza when I was a teenager. There are frozen pizzas that are cheaper and tastier.

Their Deep Dish pizzas are decent though. I haven't had one in a while, I'll get one tonight.
