I only have a few patches, but it's spreading. It grows way faster than my grass so it's annoying to manage. If I don't mow earlier than the lawn needs, the stuff flowers and spreads.

Just the weeds. The good news is that despite the downpour we got, the weeds are mostly dying. The clover seems least affected though.

It cost me $10 for a 40 oz bottle of concentrate, and it makes 20-40 gallons of weed killer, enough to treat up to 20,000 square feet (that's almost 1/2 acre). Contains 2,4-D, Mecoprop, Dicamba, and Sulfentrazone.

I'll look into it if the stuff I used doesn't work. I'm mostly just dealing with dandelions and clover.

If any water gets on it within 24 hours, it loses effectiveness. I checked the forecast and there was a 0% chance of rain.

Prisoner of Azkaban was also a pretty terrible movie adaptation. It's like the movie lacked any focus at all, and the costume department forgot that they were at a school for wizards and witches.

I'm financially fairly well off but I don't really know much about investment strategies, nor do I care. I maintain a decent amount of savings but I regularly put surplus payments on my mortgage to pay down my principal so I don't get absolutely destroyed in a few years when I have to renew at these insane interest rates.

I'd probably do a lot better using that money to invest, but I really don't care that much. I have everything I want and my mortgage will be fully paid someday, likely before my amortization ends.

I'm a teacher, students don't go back in my district until early September. I'll be back to work during the last week of August.

I barbecue all year. I don't care if it's -20 outside, the barbecue keeps you warm and you can always step inside for a few minutes while it cooks.

It's a shame what beer hipsters did to IPAs. A traditional mild IPA can be really good, but about 12 years ago, a collective movement happened where it became a race to see who could make the most sickeningly hoppy IPA possible.

Guinness is great, probably the best major macro brew on the market.

Miller is a solid choice for when I want something more refreshing.

Innis and Gunn is the beer version of a dessert, definitely a great choice for when I want something more along that line.

I'm also a big fan of a micro brew called Yukon Gold, although I haven't had it in years.

As for a cheap macro brew to drink casually, I usually go with Old Style Pilsner. Definitely a redneck beer but I actually think it's the best bang for your buck.

Every lake within a 300 km radius of me is man made, and specifically designed for either irrigation, recreation, or both. So yeah, I would feel safe. We have natural rivers as well, which I'd be less comfortable with, but people frequently go tubing down the river in the summer.

We had a cabin on the coast of BC when I was a kid, and I often swam in the ocean (at least on days where the water wasn't brutally cold). The risk of being swept away or attacked by something in the water would have been much higher than anything at the man made lakes near me today.

Being a police officer should require a minimum of a 4 year bachelor's degree in addition to extensive police training. I feel like having educated professionals would stop easily 90% of the garbage behaviour we see in so many police officers.

I don't like the idea of console producing companies buying third parties. But I wouldn't be too offended by this because I don't really care about Square Enix.

I will never for the life of me understand why the US Supreme Court is a partisan entity. I think it speaks to the weakness of the US constitution that it can be interpreted in such widely different ways by different people based on political orientation.

There needs to be serious reform across the entire structure of the US government. The Supreme Court is not an executive branch, and yet in recent years it seems like it's been exerting power as if it is. This is extremely dangerous.

The dubbed conversations were the best part of that show. So ridiculous, but sometimes you just need a completely goofy show to make you laugh.

The lack of great commentary is likely why I couldn't stand Wipeout. The physical comedy of the obstacle courses wasn't what made MXC so great, and Wipeout didn't seem to get that.
