Yes, I did.

I hadnt calculated it in a while, but its growing decently.

Now, I know I talk a lot about silver coins, but they build up silver slowly. but ones you find could have more value than just its silver content in collectible value. my silver dollars are actually worth 20-30 dollars, but i just went with pure silver conversion. But coins do built up slowly and stack slowly but its face value or free, so its worth it every time.

Here is how i've acquired these coins:
1oz silver eagles - birthday and christmas gifts
40% kennedy half dollar - bought 80 dollars worth of rolled half dollars once from a bank and found one silver coin
walking liberty half dollar - friend found out i was interested in coins so he gave me one.
8 nickels - found hunting my cash drawer.
17 dimes - found one in my friends change, the rest hunting my drawer or checking the coinstar return tray
silver dollars - customer paid me with four once, also a supervisor at work found one inside the coinstar machine and gave it to me for being an awesome employee.

His goal isnt to recreate the original painting, but give a modern take on it. the artist is black and most of his subjects are black in his paintings.

it seems like the paintings were based off of this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judith_beheading_Holofernes

and the artist, upon a google search, like to depict modern day figures(mainly black but so is the artist) in historical settings, suchs as

https://d32dm0rphc51dk.cloudfront.net/oc2uEnsVpIdlZxMV0cVlyw/larger.jpg

so the optics really werent as bad as you think.

there we go.

i dont think hes too far off with that statement either. itd probably be a media story for a few days, then people finally learn the real reason for those paintings(as in what i posted earlier about guy in OPs paintings), then some people would stay mad but most would stop caring.

it wouldnt be a huge deal but it also wouldnt fly under the radar either. me personally if the shoe was on the other foot i'd take note of the context and likely not care at all.

no idea what it is. my friend showed me an episode last night but was unable to answer me when i asked what it was and all my googling attempts have failed.

the art style is pretty crude with nonprofessional voice actors doing voices. It has two main characters with weird/messed up faces, both older and both gay(i think). the one wears a pink tutleneck sweater and the other guy has a huge nose and mustache.

in this episode the one character had to get a job and quit being lazy or else he would need to shave off his stache. He goes to get a job and keeps talking to the employees "hey im here for a job guy" and he gets an interview but ends up getting beat up by chris, the manager.

side plot where the other main character finds a killer dog named max(spoof of mans best friend i think), but doesnt know he is a killer, and takes him in.

ultimately the dog kills a few people but the scientist creator of him kills it.

anybody have any idea what this cartoon is? because it was one of the strangest things ive ever heard.

Star notes are error replacement notes. When they print regular bills, they often get damaged or miscut or misprinted bills. they dont stop everything to replace them, the run keeps going as normal(with the damaged bills taken out), then at a later time they do star note print runs to make up the difference.

why some print runs are 3.2 million or 340K or even 32K I have no idea. but in short thats what a star note is.

Ive never used it but a lot of places like the idea. give customers a deal one time, then some will come back at regular price if they like it. Apparently most people take the deal and never come back, so the business likely lost money to serve them and wont get em again. But a reddit thread i read was recounting groupon stories from the point of businesses, and one had me dying:

"I used to be the manager for a large 18 screen movie theater. My corporate office decided to roll out a groupon - one ticket and one large popcorn for 5 dollars. This was a luxury theater. We were the first in our area to do the full leather recliners, get a bar, get better than horrible food, etc. So a value of ticket + popcorn is normally going to be like 20-30 dollars. You can see the attraction.

Anyway my cinema was selling out of literally every single show from 9 am to midnight, every day. About 90% of our customers for this summer were groupon customers. There were customers who had misunderstood the groupon fighting with assistant managers literally constantly. I had to start scheduling managers for "groupin misunderstanding" shifts. Cops were called 3-4 times a week because of groupons.

The worst part was that we were turning away most customers just because we were sold out of literally every showing (it was summer 2015, biggest movie summer in decades). People thought that having a groupon was their ticket, not that it allowed them to purchase a ticket and food at a discounted rate. So they thought they already had a ticket but teh show would inevitably be sold out. The wording was super ambiguous. There were a ton of other logistical issues which were only solvable via a ton of boring labor or allowing mass fraud.

Ultimately the theater ended up losing about 10-12 million dollars that summer. Groupon customers refused to buy anything that wasn't their free popcorn, and a ton of ticket revenue was lost. Our average food spending per customer went from like 12 bucks to under 2. I don't know what the situation looked like across the entire chain but I'm pretty sure it was a 100+ MM fuckup. Tons of theater-level managers quit over it (your bonus is super reliant on food spending) and the corporate office had a ton of firings.

TLDR Groupon ruined my summer 2015, led to 5+ employee breakdowns, 10+ customer fistfights, 1 full on brawl, and tens of millions of dollars in lost profit."

I have several ive found that are runs of 640K or 320K, never found any below that. Now most of the star notes you find will be 3.2 million, but if you already have one on you might as well take a minute and check. I of course being a cashier go through lots of quantity, but i still cant check every star note i see at work.

here is one from my collection which is probably one of the rarest and fanciest star notes i own

http://www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/star-notes/lookup/100/2009A/ld00005269

For reference, in the video above a more common note(from 640K), sold for 250 bucks. That note(as well as mine) carried a bit more of a premium on top of the rare star note print run by being a lower serial number, in the thousands.

What could mine sell for? no idea because ebay auctions are weird and crazy, but I could likely double my money.

The only qualifier is if you have a star note bill on you.

You can tell if you have a star note by checking the serial number. It will be a small asterisk at the end of the serial number(otherwise there is just a letter) on any us bill(even two dollar notes!). here is a reference image:

https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/uploaded/Jaobler/2008516_50DolStarNote.jpg

So check your wallet and see. If you do, it gets interesting. The chances of finding a star note is around 1 per 100-120 bills. Not super common but almost a guarantee youve had one before at some point even if you didnt know it.

Some star notes are common, and some are rare. Rare ones carry a premium. Common print runs are of 3.2 million and can be spent. 1.2 million runs are also common. It gets rare when you have a 640K run or lower. Some runs are only 32 thousand making them extremely rare.

So, if you do in fact have a star note, go to this website and input the denomination, series(year), serial number including the letter(s) at the beginning. Then it will tell you how rare it is.

http://www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/star-notes/lookup

Now you dont have to be like me and go to the bank and get hundreds of dollars in ones to check for shit like this, just check your change, the bills in your wallet, tip money you get etc. I can liken this to playing a scratch off ticket for free. You dont have to go out of your way to find these things just check money when you get it.

Sometimes the lower print runs can sell for a decent bit of cash on ebay. here is a reference video I just watched explaining some crazy auctions. they dont make sense sometimes but thats ebay for ya.
