Oh no!!!!

Pretty much the only places that I still see as truly successful straight up places to buy music are those selling pretty much strictly vinyl records. I'm blown away that Best Buy didn't drop that shit 5 years ago...

You can still pay for music via digital download if you want to, but CDs are just a waste of space. Theyll see the same fate as cassette tapes.

only vinyl records are worth collecting inmo. (But they also take up a huge amount of space.)

Yeah I'm just saying it's sad that musicians put years into their craft for people who basically just get it for free now. It takes extremely hard work to make any cash whatsoever as a musician

Aren't digital downloads typically lower quality than lossless CD format? That would be my only concern with digital downloads replacing physical mediums. I know the difference between 320Kbps and lossless is imperceptible to most people, but still.

Please clarify what you mean by this. With CDs you already own said music. With Apple Music you're just borrowing/streaming said music until it no longer works (i.e. no reception, no money, etc). Do you mean you like to actually own the music instead of streaming it?

Are you referring to pirating or actual streaming services? Of course with pirating folks are getting it for free but even with streaming I do feel the profit they're getting is next to nil.

I do wonder how some musicians feels when fans selectively choose which song to purchase out of an album instead of the entire thing. Out of most albums/soundtracks, some I like the entire selection while for some I might only like two or three songs.

I still only purchase music via CD, although I sometimes get a digital download with the purchase. Otherwise the music *still* ends up on itunes because I'll import the CDs (mostly because it's an easy way to get them into a digital format and from there I'll use them on non-Apple devices as well).

When I'm driving, I'll use the built-in CD player when listening to music, etc.

A few retailers carry major releases, but you're not going to find everything outside of a dedicated music store or online retailer.

You can get any music now free of charge even without resorting to pirating..

Youtube
Spotify
Pandora

Now obviously with some of these services if you want to listen to a certain song you are kind of SOL but you can get a lot of similar music for free. With Youtube you are talking about watching ads before the video which is "sorta paying for it".

A lot of music on YT is pirated, though, since many of the channels don't have the rights to stream it. And you can adblock YT to ensure that the artists don't see their fraction of a cent.

Music gets autoflagged pretty damn quick usually if someone doesnt have the rights to use it

Its why Jim Sterling plays Chains of Love whenever he shows Nintendo footage. That way it gets flagged for the song and Nintendo cant monetize the video.

if you burn a cd change the format to mp3, you should be able to put hundreds of songs on the disc. but you have to make sure your cd player can play the disc in that format.
