Link getting stronger, thanks to BoTW and Cloud keeps getting weaker...it's inevitable that the gap between the two will get bigger. Mario went from getting destroyed by Sephiroth to crushing him almost 60-40. Same fate waiting for Cloud, sadly.

Holy **** Snake is losing to Zelda? I know the NN isn't quite a thing anymore but I did not expect Snake to lose to someone outside of the NN. Last time we saw him in a proper 1vs1 match he was beating Sephiroth.

I guess it kinds of makes sense. The MGS series is in a very bad situation...a lot of fans were unhappy with MGSV which solid snake was not even the protagonist of while Zelda had a game many consider to be one of the best ever made.

next match is going to suck, both Tifa and Seph will probably lose. Hopefully they put up a good fight.

I don't know why but I have a feeling Luigi will win and easily. I thought Ryu had a great chance at the upset before the contest but right now Sephiroth looks safe...he will look awful at the start but probably won't end up in danger.

And this is why I don't feel the Tifa rallies were unfair. I'd understand if MMX wasn't being rallied and the Tifa rally swinging it for her but if not for the MMX rally in the first place, Tifa likely wins without rallying. The Tifa rallies were basically retaliation to the MMX rally that was substantial.

Everyone keeps quoting this '1.7k views' number, but what does that actually mean? THere were only 52 comments, and 176 upvotes. Even if you assume a 100% conversion on the upvotes, that doesn't account for the 500 or so rally votes Tifa brought in from the hentai subs.

When you look at the individual updates towards the end, it is clear both sides were benefitting from rallies. They were both getting substantially more votes in the final 2 hours than they did in their previous matches whereas they should have been getting less due facing stronger opposition. You're saying Tifa got 500 extra votes and acting like MMX didn't get similar amounts. You don't go from 20-30 vote updates against Isabelle/Ocelot to 50-60 vote updates against Tifa in the same time frame without outside help.

They both got a ton of help down the stretch. Maybe Tifa got more than MMX during that stretch but there was periods earlier in the day where MMX was benefitting from the substantial rally and Tifa was not since her rallies started at the end of the match. So it likely evens out.

1) Stronger characters naturally bring in higher votals, so comparing the per update votes to Round 1/2 blowouts is meaningless
2) Close matches also naturally bring in higher votals
3) The MMX 'rally' was posted early this morning, when Tifa was still rolling strong. There weren't any MMX rallies posted towards the end of the match, if we assume the hentai perverts had a 70-30 bias towards Tifa, we can assume that MMX was en route to a 300-400 vote win before that kicked in

You really have something against hentai fans don't you? LOL . arguing for hours on gamefaqs about a characters popularity contest but you demean others for looking at hentai, not sure if that's funny or sad.

Tifa was rallied and she won as a result, just get over it. Luigi will probably beat her next round.

wait what? Tifa recovered from her 400 votes deficit throughout the night which is a normal FFVII/MM trend, FF does great during the Europe vote and MM sucks. If Tifa did get a rally it was barely 50-100 votes toward the end and that simply can not be compared to reddit rallying THOUSANDS of votes for the same character EVERY match. The rallies Tifa got would do her NOTHING if she was facing someone significantly stronger than her, like Link. Draven/Undertale were simply unstoppable.
