All mons I've used in compettive teams before, except Lapras and Nidoking, which were the MVPs of my first Pokemon Stadium rental team when I was 7, and Snorlax, which is just cool (also normal type is kind of lacking).

Basically, if I've used you to kick a lot of ass in the past, you have a special place in my heart.

That's nice to hear.

I recall seeing some bashing ot it here every now and then.

I was wanting to buy some RPG and I almost went for Bravely Default but this one seems more inspired. I watched a trailer and didn't understand jack, so this is probably a good sign.

2013 was us getting invaded by trolls.

2015 was us getting invited by fans, and THEN gamefaqs users themselves trying to invade and troll the "enemy" communities. Or trolling our own board.

The whole rally was literally fulled by MWC making hate speech against Undertale fans and his posts getting shared on Tumblr.

Why is everyone treating a rally as if it is some abnormality that obscures the data? A game having a fanbase dedicated enough to rally for it is part of its inherent strength.

Because it doesn't happen most of the time and people talk about strength when they are trying to predict what will win most of the time.

As for DKC1, it's great but feels like a prototype to 2. It has less varied envirinments, enemies more similar to each other, and every level is pure platforming hell instead of something more unique.

It's similar to how Megaman Battle Network or Mario Party or Sonic or the original Megaman compare to their sequels. It took two games to get the formula perfect.

Much of this site grew up in the 90s and certain games - Chrono Trigger being one of them - have an unmatchable nostalgia.

GameFAQs doesn't have anywhere near as many Gen-Xers as it does Millennials. Most of us were either unborn or in diapers in 1987, so the same nostalgia is not present considering any games from that year had to be played retroactively. We did not experience the same mind-blowingly awesome feelings that our forefathers did in the original Zelda or Metroidvania. We got those from SNES, N64, and PSX games, thus those have the fondest place in our hearts.

Expect 1997 or 1998 to win this.

i do, but i am voting based on that years influence on the industry as a whole, not the specific titles that were released. metrois suckes but it apawned super metroid. ya know? final fantasy saved an entire brand feom wxrincrion. teigger was just cool foe its time.

First rule about contests: it's a popularity contest. Voters will just pick whatever they like the most, logic be danmed.
