Turns out Apollo and Junpier have been going out in the background and AA6 just didn't show it.

That said I second the Luke Cage thing. Season 2 is the best thing in Netflix so far except for maybe DD1.

Dude there are 10+ TV show seasons maybe he just doesn't want to watch literally everything. I've always thought the movies were the main course of this thread and the shows were just a bonus.

I stopped season 5 midway a few months ago because it's just too dark for my tastes. Like I'm not sensitive or anything but it just doesn't feel pleasant to watch.

But I intend to try to finish it soon. The plot is still great.

Also heard the only reason this show still exists is that Disney wants non-Netflix viewers to have something MCU-related in their lives between the films.

Honestly I'm surprised this show didn't end in S4. The talk I heard was that they were only doing it because the standard DVD format is 4 seasons or something like that.

Strange feels like the last hurrah of the old era of MCU.

One-dimensional villain, boring origin story, arrogant protagonist. But so fun to watch him and his antics.

I didn't mind the new director thing because Mace is so likable.

He has that aura of human decency from Cap. America.

I liked it, it wasn't outsdaing since it was just a standard origin story but it had some creative visuals and the Bargain thing was great.

I'm not very hyped for Mordo though since it's the same sequel hook they use in the Green Lantern film and also Iron Fist. Granted GL2 will never happen but thats still the same villain origin story happening 3 times.

New guy joins order, learns it too fast, beats ancient villain that order fears by using modern methods, and veteran member is mad at how the old ways are being broken and turns evil because of that.

This thread keeps making me want to go back to AoS S5.

But now I'm busy with Luke Cage 2.

I thought killing Lincoln was a bit lazy since he was the new guy but I didn't like him than much anyway.

This film started the trend of great MCU villains. It was much needed.

I was also team Stark, though late AoS seasons made me like the Soccovia Accords a little less. But like, in this universe they are less like vigilantes and more like a specialized military. It doesn't make sense for them not to be bound to the law. SHIELD used to do that job, but without them, they need a replacement.

S3 finale is pretty good. I mean Hive's plan is stupid, but the whole conflict is great. And I loved the final scene with Hive and Lincoln in space.

Just finished the finale of season 3 (AoS).

Fuck. If I had to choose one member of the team to go, it probably would have been Lincoln, but I still got pretty emotional there. He really grew on me as the season went on. Also, what the hell was that epilogue?

That epilogue was the other reason it took me 2 years to watch S4.

Yes, it is as bad as it looks like. But the season gets better after that.

Because, like, why do they even exist? Why are the still around doing *anything* that they do? I mean it's fun to have them but why would anyone devote their life to a secret organization with no real goal in particular?

Even the Red Skull's Hydra army is a bit too large and pushes the edges of believability. I really like that movie but if there's one thing that kinda bugs me it's that he apparently has TONS of bases alongside this REALLY advanced Tessaract tech. For being a splinter off of the Nazi's it's too much....

But this retcon actually makes it possible!

I dunno I think Winter Soldier made it pretty clear their goal is simply to end democracy and have a stronger control over the population.

S4 of AoS actually shows how that works in the Framework. And probably undoes that retcon too, since Hydra is back to being nazis. S5 seems to be doing something similar, though I'm in the middle of it.

Fitz almost went brain dead.
Simmons got trapped in another dimension.
Bobbi shot herself through the chest and has a knee issue.
Coulson died.

AM1 is pretty good. It's not amazing compared to some of MCU's best, but it's better than 80% of pre-MCU stuff at least. It's a testament to the quality MCU films have reached. They can grab a C-list hero and produce a hidden gem like this.

And it only gets better from that.

I think I liked Luis more in the second film than in the first.

Then again I liked the comedy in AM2 more than the actual plot or action.

Yeah just watch the films and AoS imo. The netflix shows are barely connected to the MCU and are mostly of questionable quality.

There used to be a time where I thought Netflix shows were a level above AoS. Then season 4 and Iron Fist happened.

I need to mull this over a bit before I write things up, but let me lead with this - I already feel like I'm looking back on it with more appreciation than I felt while it was happening.

That's the problem with MCU Netflix. The only season I've seen that managed to have 13 episodes without using filler was DD1. Everyone else struggled.

Defenders on the other hand might have pulled it off, but they chose to make it 8 episodes and rush the plot for some reason.

Guardians 2 will age better than a lot of these films that we rank ahead of it. Very contained story, Kurt Russell was as good as any villain not named Loki, Thanos, or Killmonger. Plus Yondu steals the entire film

The good in GotG2 is really good but you could easily take away 15-30 minutes of jokes and fluff and not miss anything. It's trying too hard to be GotG1 with all the Groot and Drax stuff and misses the fact that the first film succeeded because it was new. The second one doesn't feel new enough.

I really enjoyed AoU when I first watch it, but I felt something bad in my gut while leaving the threater. Took me a while to understand it. I remember first giving it a 9/10 score in a forum review and then seeing that score go down over time (I tend to do that, I'm still deciding whether Infinity War is my favorite MCU film or not).

It's like a lot of really wesome stuff happening in one film, but nothing really lands. Ultron is great but he really jobs in the end. Vision is a glorified Deus Ex Machina designed to make Ultron job. Stark/Cap/Thor don't do much. Sorry TC, you are one of the few people in the internet who liked Thor's sidequest. It often gets compared to that video scene from Batman vs Superman in the sense that it's a glorified trailer for upcoming films.

I might be one of the few people who liked Hulk/Natasha, though. It didn't have amazing chemistry but I liked how it developed both characters. Hawkeye and Wanda are great too.

I had high hopes going into season 2 and I thought the premiere was a giant mess topped off with a *really* stupid scene at the end where Coulson does a voice over about how they had to take a risk and they could have failed that day, but they needed an edge, as it shows them steal the cloaking quinjet with May riding off on a motorcycle popping wheelies while guards shot at her. i thougt that scene was stupid as hell. I thought "oh god they havent improved at all, this scene is gonna suck too"

Then Simmons was undercover and Mockingbird showed up and Hunter turned out to be awesome and the Afterlife plotline began and I WAS ALL IN. I love season 2.

show just gets better and better from there.

I thought S3 was a little inferior than S2. The plots got kind of silly at some points, especially Hive's plan at the end, and some of the religion Hydra stuff. Also fuck Bobbi and Hunter leaving. That made me hate the show and put it on hiatus for over two years, until someone told me S4 was great.

S4 is amazing tho. S5 has been great so far, albeit a little too dark for my tastes.

Maybe I'm just in the minority but I walked away from JJ S1 thinking that it was "The Greatest Marvel Show Ever" (patent pending), and I walked away from JJ S2 thinking that it was like someone else wrote Jessica Jones and didn't get the show at all. But as long as it was enjoyed by someone, that's important.

I watched 2 episodes of JJ2, dropped it and concluded it's considerably inferior to Iron Fist.

And that's not because I like Iron Fist.
