okay, I've been away for a week so I haven't been able to keep this current. not much suspense anymore, but:



- if 91 and 01 win, the cookie has the best bracket
- if 97 wins, pronouncemyname easily trounces everyone as he is the only 1997 bracket
- if 01 wins, our best bracket is kateeeee. surprisingly, no 2001 brackets have 1994 winning its quadrant, but two have 2011.
- if 2000 beats 1996? don't even get me started

I can go one better than that, here's all 32 remaining combinations and who wins in each one. cloelea wins the cookie tiebreaker over foxhead84 and SwiftyDC unless there's a lot more votes, and scaryice beats squexa on the tiebreaker too if they win.

As for the second bit, yup. Exactly as it should be. I'm surprised it hadn't hit that level last round. Of course, last round, I wasn't scared 91 might not win. That looked like a pretty severe underperformance, though, which leaves me more than a bit scared about tonight.

Man I have the exact same bracket as you except I randomly inputted a tiebreaker since I had no idea what it meant. I also didn't see the contest (I missed the '15 contest too) until the official bracket closed so I didn't submit one.

Feels bad lol.

I just realized I actually submitted a bracket under an alt (I initially forgot my account/email name for this one since it's been like 4 years since I've been on GameFAQs so I created another account) and almost completely forgot about it until I saw it listed on the leaderboard. Although under the alt I took 1987>1995 for some stupid reason lol.

The Cookie is still appearing as alive in the guru leaderboard.

I understand that yoblazer is giving out a free game to the guru winner this time around. If somebody starts a rally that causes 1997 to come back and win, I'd be happy to give them the free game.

Actually, I can go one better: If someone starts a rally and 1997 wins, I'd be willing to give them half of any prize I'd win. Right now, I'm tied for first on the leaderboard with eight other people. There's a good chance if 1997 wins, I'd win $1000 or $500. So half of that is pretty good, right? getting desperate here

Granted, some of the games chosen for 1997 are contest abortions, but the conversation quickly turned from "FFVII will SFF FFX to death regardless" to "goddamn pictures." Give both sides their best lineups and rotations (which would include adding Halo and Zelda, and putting Melee up front) and this is dead even at best.

2001 isn't going to get much better by adding Halo and a third tier Zelda game. If you add GE and MK64 to 1997, it'd probably convince more than a few hundred people to to swing the other way, and that's all it would need.
