I've decided I probably won't bother with the other extra stuff, at least not right now. Maybe I'll come back to it sometime. That sadly means it's the end of the playthrough itself! As always, thanks all for following + helping + commenting, I've really enjoyed going through this series with you folks around.

I - II - III - IV - (TAY) - V - Final Fantasy VI - VII - (VIIR - DoC - CC) - VIII - IX - X - (X-2) - XII - (RW) - XIII - (XIII-2 - LR) - XV - Tactics - (TCB)

Next up: It'll probably be a while before I come back to this. There's a bunch of games I got over the holidays that I haven't touched at all yet, including Xenoblade, which I've never played before and I imagine will take a long long time to get through. But when I do get back to it, the next will be Final Fantasy IX. I will miss the SNES/GBA era and have enjoyed my time with it greatly! After IX the floor is wide open, I'll probably run another poll to get some kind of consensus. For now though, this'll be it.

I'm playing Xenoblade rn for the first time.

Having a blast.

Cool topic. I also had a similar impression. Story and music are very good, graphics are fine, gameplay is fun but not very polished.

My main issue is how most characters become weak around the half point of the game, at least compared to Terra/Celes/Relm. Then again the game is so easy it doesn't matter much. But I kind of wish things like Bushido and Edgar's items felt strong the whole game. Some of them few like they last very little too, like Mog's dances. That said, I really enjoyed what they tried to accomplished, by having different mechanics for each character, besides just choosing moves. But they tried so many things some of them were fated not to work.

Quick is really good on Cyan. Actually it's good on everybody, but for Cyan is a goodsend because you may have noticed by this point his bushido mechanic is badly designed, and Quick fixes that.

I think Gigantuar is the hardest fight in this game give or take. Maybe 2nd or 3rd. So congrats!

The Tornberries have this gimmick where their attack raises with how much steps you have taken since the start of the game, or something like that, so they can be pretty unfair.

Iirc coliseum grinding is really good but also a little game breaking. You can get some ultimate equipment early. It takes some specific strategies to beat certain enemies though.

I think its main point is getting the dragoon items. Edgar and Mog become pretty crappy in WoR, and the way you keep them going is either teach them magic (which is kind of weak) or give them a lance and dragoon boots/ring (don't remember if those were the item names) to turn them into jumping single target monsters. One of the items is in the coliseum, the other I think is easier to find.

First time I played this I dropped halfway through reuniting the party in WoR. Didn't enjoy the open gameplay that much, I like story driven games more. Then later I played a 2nd time and beat it.

But most of the "optional" stuff in WoR is prety good, there are some fun dungeons too. I agree the game should have done a better job at giving dialogue options between characters, though. Something akin to the skits you get in Tales games.

But well, this is an SNES game, so can't expect that much.

Floating continent is very good, though. The same just gives you a long dungeon where you can feel like a badass but also have a hard time with some optional bosses if you want to. Kind of hope I could change party more times in it though.

I think I saved Cid once by save scumming just to see it, but in my 2nd playthrough I didn't. It's almost impossible to figure out on your own. And I agree the "suicide" scene is great.

Not finished reading, but some bits.

Shadow doesn't reeally need magic, especially at floating continent, because he has scrolls.

Relm, on the other hand, needs magic badly. Sketch is one of the worst abilities in the game, but Relm has the highest magic stat of the whole party. I had Relm with Celes/Edgar last time I played Floating Continent and it was a joke. Relm/Shadow/Celes just murdered everything. Edgar was almost useless lol.

Eh the median of MCU is probably something like Ant-Man or Doc Strange. Cuz MCU 's standard is higher than average blockbuster standard.

AoU is more like fodder line to me. It's not bad, I enjoyed watching it a lot, but it didn't quite make my long term memory. It sort of just exists.

Iirc Mog has 100% accuracy if you use the dance that matches the background you're at. But if you are at a different one, he can miss. Sometimes it's still worth it because he makes the background change after the first use so he won't miss again in that fight. And some dances are better than others. But if you're in a place where the default dance seems to suck, the Mog is just mediocre too.

The post wasn't totally serious but from what I've seen, the main point is that you want to convince the local auhorities that you are really just a tourist and not someone trying to migrate illegaly. That said I've never been in this specific situation myself since I always had at least a student visa.

I guess if you are going there to study/work, be ready to answer questions about that. And if you are a tourist, I showing you got your tour planned helps? Just a guess.

Greetings, Board 8. As you probably all know, USA just suffered a coup attempt.

I imagine those of you who are Americans may be confused and lost about your new reality living in a banana republic. So I have come here to provide a tutorial on how to live in a third world country. I have a vast experience in the subject, having lived my whole life in Brazil. So here are the tips:

1- It's okay if you don't know the name of the current president. That can change for a month to another.

2- The state may not be officially policing social media yet, but some cautionary measures are wise, especially if you are posting with your real name. Never criticize cops or military online, because one of they may want to kill you. Don't get too personal when arguing with far-right people, but also avoid the far-left. No, by far-left I don't mean the people who support free healthcare, but the ones who post saying they wish Stalin had killed more people. Chances are they don't have any ability to harm you, but they wish they could, so don't taunt it either.

3- Never invest your money in long term assets that don't have liquidity (are not easy to take your money back when you feel like) and are not corrected by inflation. You don't know when the next period of hyper-inflation is going to be, so don't gamble your savings on that.

4- Do vote, but don't expect your candidate, if elected, to complete a full term. That just doesn't happen all the time. In fact, if they did complete a full term, there is a good chance it was a regular ass estabilishment term that didn't improve anything.

5- Corruption news is less important than it seems. Yes, your country is plagued with corruption, but that isn't always the main issue, compared to how the politicians are actually using the taxpayer money. A lot of the time, the media will give attention to the former to make you forget about the later.

6- Get used to hearing people from developed countries make fun about you outside. Also, when you travel, don't expect your passport to be worth much, and prepare your answers so you are not rejected at the border.

7- Adding to that, your biggest possible economic achievement is getting a visa in a developed country. So start practicing your French, your German, or even your Mandarin!

8- Try to get a public job if you can. Those provide stability, and stability is the most import asset in a third world country. One good way to do so is befriend a politician, especially before they get elected. The issue with that method is that you have a high chance of losing your job when the politician is unseated. You can also go though the normal channels, which tend to have more stable jobs, though if you are in a third world country, get ready for a huge competition for them. Everyone wants the stability.

9- Along your life, you will be met with a lot of people trying to offer you easy ways to get rich. They are doing so because there is a demand, but don't fall for it. You will not get rich unless you are either born rich, or do something illegal. Focus on achieving a stable, middle class life.

10- Your country probably won't become a first world one in your lifetime. So getting involved in politics is not a terrible thing, but don't be frustrated when the results are weak or non-existant. The deck is stacked against your country, and it will take centuries to change that. Keep going and fight for the future generations.

Investing in anything is gambling...

I mean sure, but many investments are based on things that exist to grow. When you are investing a in a company, you are expecting to make money if it profits. The risk is the company not profitting, but you can manage that risk that by analysing the companies you're investing in.

Currency is basically a routelle that doesn't necessarily aim to grow, unlike a company. It can go up and down randomly and you're just trying to catch the moments it grows.

Plague Inc just released an update that is more like a whole new game. In this one you get to play against the disease instead of as it.

I just played a game on Casual and it's hard! It's much more realistic, too. In the original game, you controlled a ridiculously powerful patogenic against an insanely stupid humanity (you could infect billions of people before they started even considering closing airports). Your goal was to wipe out every human on Earth, and you lost if the disease got cured.

Here, your control an agent of a research center and your goal is to obtain the vaccine, but you lose if you get fired, which will happen if the death rate increases too much or if the people dislike your quarantine policies.

I've gotten 2 of the 1-point districts wrong, plus Georgia (if it holds) and Ohio. I knew Ohio was probably more of a longshot prediction, but it was the state that I tried picking for an upset special. Georgia was more unexpected because I had always considered Georgia to be a more Republican state than Florida, so picking Florida to go Republican means you generally have to pick Georgia to go the same way.

Never try to fit Florida in any pattern.

But also with individual characters as good as DR3's ones. I'm not a huge fan of DR2 or DR3's plots. Though I liked all 3 games for different reasons.
