I meant to finish a post I started yesterday about Guilty Gear Strive and missing WWE Elimination Chamber from Sunday night because I didn't care too much, and the beta is so much fun, but I got distracted looking for a printer.

Yes, a printer.

I went to 4 difference stores and looked on Amazon to find a printer, and the wife and I became so frustrated that we just gave up, and I forgot to finish my post. I'm not sure why there's a printer shortage, but there is.

I would blame the printer shortage of 2021 on the pandemic, but everything is digital, and you can just email or cloud over your projects. Bank Robber told me there's a shortage on the supply side from China, but I haven't looked into it yet, bit I guess, "Pandemic Yo!"

We did find a printer/scanner this afternoon. So happy ending!

I would also have to imagine that the number of people working from home and kids schooling from home has made a lot of basic office supplies scarce. I know there was a major shortage of chromebooks around this time last year.

A random aside about woke gaming.

TLoU? Clumsy and Hamfisted. Lauded by the Woke.

Rina's hostess plotline in Yakuza Kiwami? Organic, optional, proportional, and doesn't grind the game to a halt in order to preach?

Haven't heard a word about it since the game came out. Gets a deep message across, doesn't interrupt the game like the second act in every CW show ever, and should be an example of woke done right.

Meanwhile we're giving established characters breast and ass reductions in remakes and calling it a day.

The Yakuza team really did the work. The gamergate set could really take a lesson from the Yakuza team on how to do woke right.

I don't think I'd keep any wild animal bigger than my thigh as a house pet. Domesticated animals, sure...but not large wild animals. I would make a chicken and broccoli pie on its own merits, with garlic and ricotta, and a steak and mushroom pie the next night using the steak sauce as the sauce, and eat the real steaks another night on their own.

This was a funny lack of self awareness that happened with the left. Constantly using the private company argument to defend big tech squashing out their competition and silencing people while being up in arms about the robinhood gamestop situation

I tried pointing it out in real time and all I got was people performatively missing the entire point.

Like I said, you can only lead a horse to water, but they'd rather die of dehydration if it means they think they're winning now. If you've lived for more than 25 years, you've seen the pendulum swing and know the shoe is always going to end up on the other foot.

It's like watching the kids arguing that Dubya should have been tried at the Hague for war crimes, like any administration would open the door to being second guessed in that way after the fact. Obama would have had to be held to the same standard.

Yet here we are impeaching the last president after he's left office.

Revisionist history has gotten to this point. But only revising 4 years at a time.

I'm dying to see if Biden/Harris will be held to the same standard after the fact.

If sending Hunter to China to negotiate a private equity deal on Air Force 2 is any indication, I'm guessing not.

Nobody can think far enough to when the shoe is on the other foot. Many of the same people that were cheering on the de-personing of people like Alex Jones, Milo, and Trump and championing "why don't you make your own services" and then also cheered when alternative platforms were shut down were the very same ones up in arms when Robinhood shut down trading on GME.

All of a sudden, there was a teachable moment there and they shook for a second and went right back to towing the line having learned nothing.

I'm an introvert by nature, but that doesn't mean I'm totally adverse to normal human interaction. It just means I have a finite capacity for it.

The total lack of normal interaction messes with the psyche. If it didn't, solitary confinement wouldn't be considered a punishment.

Granted, we live in an unprecedented time of bread and circus for distractions, but it's not the same as going to a bar and running a pool table for a few racks or a half dozen rounds of cricket throwing darts with friends, and making new aquaintences along the way.
