The poor turkey. A bird that by design is almost impossible to cook properly while whole. It's a shame we Americans have the Thanksgiving tradition where the whole bird is cooked. There's plenty of good meat on that bird but to cook it properly the breast really needs to be separated from the rest of the body.

If we're talking about a stag in rut, then yeah, you probably don't want to challenge it in hand to hoof combat. Generally speaking there are like 6 to 8 doe for every stag, and under normal circumstances a deer's instinct is to flee or try and draw prey away from the younglings. If given a choice, yeah I'd rather have to deal with the stag in rut than a charging bear or boar. That's just simple math.

A deer is no threat to me physically. If I graze it with my shot and only wound it, it isn't going to come at me and try to eat my face. Very different situation against a bear or a boar. If I'm living solely off the land and a bow is all I have, then that's what I have to hunt with. Given a choice, the rifle is preferred provided a steady ammo supply, but I can make arrows. Point being, you can take a hundred yards shot at a deer with a rifle. Good luck on a kill shot at that range with a bow. As a rule, you need to be much closer to your prey with the bow, so against certain game it really is a safety issue is what I'm saying.

No matter how "good" solar is getting, it still has some major shortcomings inherent to it that don't sit well with me. You're going to lose 10% of it's efficiency as soon as its installed to dust and crap on the panels no matter how much you clean the panels. Then you have the potential difference from cell to cell that burns them out as soon as a leaf blows onto the panel for any length of time. Then you have the fact that our planet is dark for half the day.

FBR/MSR/thorium reactors can be made the size of a bus to power communities at a local level, they can eat all the waste of previous generations of reactors, and if there is a failure, they pretty much just shut down rather than go critical. The only reason the technology has been suppressed (and we have manbearpig to thank in large part for that) is because it can't be used to enrich weapons grade nuclear materials and the suppression of that technology is practically a crime against humanity in my eyes. We could have been doing this 20+ years ago and we're letting France and China beat us to the punch on this technology.

Our infrastructure hasn't had any real major upgrades since the Eisenhower administration, and infrastructure has always been one of my stumps so I'm actually ok with this if we can get some high speed internet and fast breeder/molten salt/thorium nuclear reactors written into this deal.

I can't help but notice the total dearth of mass shootings at gun shops, gun ranges, and police stations.

It's almost as if the shooters want to cause the most damage possible with the lowest risk of retaliation.

If guns themselves were the problem, you'd think that statistically these shootings would happen where large numbers of guns were to be found in close proximity to one another, but this clearly isn't the case. Declaring "gun free zones" practically advertises to a potential shooter free reign to fire at will free from risk.

Because in something like MMA, you're not talking about theoretical tumblrina shit anymore. Someone who has spent 75/80/90% of their life as a man, training most of that time as a man pound for pound will decimate any biologically born female in the same weight class regardless of hormones, regardless of assertions of "I'm a girl now".

I'd love to say I'm watching this and give my opinions, but Netflix is doing that thing where it plays for all of 2 or 3 minutes and goes all red ringy, and when I back out and resume it could be anywhere in the first half hour and I have to scroll to within a minute of where I last was. It's very much breaking the immersion and despite having watched snippets of this first half hour multiple times I really have no damned clue what's going on.

Randi, I know this isn't exactly what you want to hear right now, but if he's not able or willing to get over himself, his issues, and his baggage to be with you you're better off with him having been straightforward about it early on rather than stringing you along for days weeks and months. It would only have gotten worse for the both of you as he buckled under his own issues down the line. I've been on both sides of this sort of thing and it only gets worse with the sheer force of momentum.

When I was in his position, I'd strung a girl on for 4 years on and off and it was totally unfair to her. When I was on your end, the girl would take off to Florida without so much as an explanation or goodbye everytime things got too real for her and then she'd pop pack up like nothing ever happened and expect me to drop everything and I did for the first two years of that dance.

Neither situation had a happy resolution for anyone involved. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but the takeaway here is that it's for the better that he was straight up about where he's at before things got too deep for him to handle.

I have no idea why. Just saying, the Coors I had when I was in Colorado tasted absolutely nothing like the Coors I've had back on the east coast. I suspect it has to do with different water from a different plant east of the Mississippi.
