You know as well as I do they're going to incorporate the X-men into their family friendly MCU comedy-verse.

one rumor is that during the war with Thanos, the reality stone will get shattered or something and cause mutants to pop up in the world as if they were always there and just inserted into the world. personally I don't want that. I know Marvel is going to use them, but I wish they would keep them separate. even in the comics I wish they lived in different universes. I always felt the mutants make more sense and a better story when it's just them and not the avengers also there.

Yeah, but with mutants in the MCU I hope we eventually get AvX down the line...

They better show Thanks in the post credits. Every movie I hope for Thanos. And this is the last one before he attacks. Post credit should show his ship in orbit around earth and Thanos is looking at earth and says "It is time to introduce ourselves...."

They still have to resolve the mid-credits scene from Ragnarok before we get there though.

Yeah I suspect that will be one of the first scenes in A3.
It feels too important to leave as an after credits scene.

yeah, leaving 3 franchise leads bumper to bumper with Thanos' flagship in deep space would be a pretty large plot point to just handwave going into A3. WHISKEY DEMANDS EXPOSITION!

That couldn't just have been a throwaway gag like the Stan Lee cameos. They have some 'splainin' to do.

Oddly enough, I just watched the first episode tonight. It's awful, but strangely addictive. Even though I hate the art, the VAs, the dialogue, the storyline (except for the whole scheme, that was kinda clever), and wasn't looking to start an anime, I might watch the rest.

Update: Finished the series, still think it's pretty awful, but I still want to see another season.

At the very least, it's different. Most anime at this point seems to be a bunch of tropes thrown into a hat and drawn at random before they start writing...but it's the same dozen tropes every time. At least this one is sort of a palette cleanser. I'm in no hurry to race through it, but I'll bang out an episode or two between other things.

Everyone called for PotDCast because it's a good name though.

SBA did a podcast too quite a few years ago. It was too much work getting everyone on at the same time and after a Skype glitch only captured my audio on the second episode we scrapped the whole idea. I still have the pilot episode around here somewhere.

Dyson rings and Dyson swarms are at least more plausible logistically. Spheres and Matroshka Brains are pushing the boundaries of what's even theoretically possible.

You're not wrong, but if you frame it that way, the case would still be a civil case, not a criminal one. If she's facing jail time, this is somehow a criminal case and I can't see how that's possible under the circumstances.

If nearly 40 year old me would bend her over faster than you can say "shallow grave" I can only imagine what 18 year old me would have done if given the opportunity.

If she was in a position of authority it does muddy the waters a bit, but at the same time if the dude was 18, he was legally an adult whether she was his teacher or not. If this same situation had happened at college instead of high school, would this even be an issue?

Maybe. MAYBE I can see her ethics as an educator being questioned, but I can't possibly imagine why consensual sex between two adults is even a court issue to begin with. I'd love some sauce on this to actually see what statute the prosecutor has used to indict her.

Watching those rocket stages reenter and land synchronized was possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen.

This is what I was talking about, IDFK what you all are on about with cars and shit. Don't elaborate though because I really do and just don't care.

The payload was a Tesla car with a dummy in it. It doesn't really demonstrate all that much as far as payload size goes, given that the rocket's maximum capacity could probably have handled a couple dozen such cars without breaking a sweat, but it was pretty amusing.

Not to mention that the main payload was at max g force something like 4 minutes after launch and doing like 1400km/h which quite figuratively blows the Saturn V and every other NASA delivery system out of the water by an order of magnitude.

I love what Musk is trying to do overall, but it truly bothers me that his Space X and Redbull both have a more robust space program than NASA does at this point. Take the ISS out of the equation and Elon Musk has NASA beat right now, and if we dared him to make a better space station than the ISS he'd have the fucking thing in a higher orbit than NASA in less than a year because "reasons".

Also, it's not the individual payload that truly matters with his design. It's the fact that his delivery system is reusable and can pretty much send out an endless stream of payloads as fast as he can refuel those boosters since they aren't disposable, and in fact return home ready to go as soon as they can be reloaded which is a far cry from NASA's glorified disposable bottle rocket models.

If he built 2 or 3 more pairs of those rockets and the pads to receive them he could pretty much slingshot payloads around the sun at will for delivery to Mars. The implications of this launch are far greater in scope as a proof of concept than many realize.

As an aside to the wrasslin' geekery, has anybody watched Altered Carbon? I'm 2 episodes from the end, and I'm not sure what to make of it yet.

Currently going through 90s Outer Limits and 00s Twilight Zone episodes again >_> Stumbled onto the episodes again after watching a Rod Serling-written episode of Suspense (terrible episode, but probably also an awful show -- granted, it was an earlier anthology which took its cues from the old radio show upon which it was based, so I should cut it some slack).

My queue is massive at this point, since I keep falling for bite-sized content. There are a few shows where I still need to watch the last few seasons, but I tend to put it off to binge everything at once.

In general, the perception of time kinda limits what I do with my time -- ie, I think, well, I'll do something for a little while but I don't have enough time to do something else.

There's a big, big recommendation from me for Altered Carbon.

Believe me, I'm picky as f*** when it comes to a lot of content, and this is a high quality show. It's a show that takes "tv shows as long form movies" and is great.

For visuals and sass alone it's worth it, but it is honestly really great. Interesting social commentary, fun transhumanist stuff, and it's a decent story.

Gotta agree with shadow here. I haven't sussed out what Altered Carbon is about yet, but it's good. Like on par with American Gods series run or Legion good.

Care to compare it to anything else I haven't watched yet? =p

Oh! Anyone remember the Simpsons episode where Homer made a friend with John, and was scared and disgusted when he realized John is homosexual? And Homer then does everything that's super masculine to try and prevent Bart from becoming gay? Yeah that was 1997

You mean back when Hillary fucking Clinton still believed Marriage was still meant to be between a man and a woman? The year after I graduated high school? That 1997?

It's very easy to view things from the past thru the lens of how things are now and have a wildly misguided perception.

Kind of like how the current witch Hunt atmosphere in Hollywood and politics has created an atmosphere where merely trying to get laid or making a pass at a woman draws cries of "sexual harassment" and "#metoo".

And yeah, sorry not sorry, but putting Harvey Weinstein's casting couch on par with Aziz Ansari trying to get some strange from a girl who had regrets after the fact is part of the whole problem with this judging the past by today's standards.

Devoid of context, it's easy to spin something into something it wasn't.

When I watch reruns of Seinfeld I always notice how many plotlines have been rendered obsolete thanks to cell phones.

Came here to say this.

and add a little water or milk

I thought milk was normally bad for cats...

It is. They're lactose intolerant. It will upset their digestive system.

I do have lunchmeat he likes to eat but my mom told me to stop cause she thinks it could hurt him. it's ham.

Yeah that's not good. Unseasoned unsalted meat is an ok treat. Lunch meats and canned tuna are really high in sodium and not good treats

Tuna is actually a very dangerous Gambit with cats. They can become addicted to tuna because of a certain protein that really screws them up.

Interesting, I've never heard of that. I don't give my cats tuna just because of the sodium and cost. You can get good cat food for less.

I almost regret saying this, but I wish they'd spent a little more time on world building. There's only been like 2 random references to finding the alien tech that gave them the stacks and I think that's a bigger story than what they're working now.

I'm a fan of it, I don't like explicit background building in my stories.

I honestly would have preferred a backflash-free version of this, that way we never actually see of the outer planets, and it's just left to the imagination. Every shot of it tends to have a, "it's the earth, but with twoooo moooooons" feel, I need more alien in my alien stuff.

I feel you, but the initial feeling I'm getting from this story is akin to jumping into Foundation after the first or second Seldon Crisis. Part of the problem I'm having is the lack of exposition in regards to some major tenets of the world I'm watching. There's an almost "Bright" level of conspicuously missing exposition as far in as I am. I'm digging what I'm seeing but it feels like Ringworld without Pearson's Puppeteers if that make any sense.
