Yes, I'd gladly kill it as long as I wouldn't need to do the butchering. At that point, it's just too much hassle. Dumb question anyway. Would you still own a car if you had to manufacture and assemble all of the parts yourself by hand?

Are you seriously comparing the work required to clean and butcher an animal with the work required to smelt metals from ore and machine parts for a car?

I can just about walk up to a goose, strangle it by hand, pull it's feathers out, shove a stick up it's ass and spit roast it in the time it would take to build a fire that would smelt iron ore. That isn't counting mining the ore, or the metallurgy required for turning it into steel, let alone the smithing required to machine the parts. Saying the two are apples to oranges is being generous.

Geese are assholes and entirely too comfortable around people. They also weigh about as much as a housecat. In a survival situation where I've grown up in new England, they're practically free food year-round.

I remember a flock chasing me and my godsister back to my house. I don't usually mind them except for that time. I even have a rival who's a goose. I assume he's still alive...

I would compare the amount of time / work it would take to find, kill, and butcher every piece of meat I eat for the rest of my life to the amount of time it would take to build a single car, yes. You're acting like I kill and butcher 1 goose and that's going to be it, all the meat I'm ever going to need. Lol.

I guess that's true. You would probably have to only make one car every so often. With many years in between. But depending on how much meat you would eat a day, that can be a lot of goose strangling. Or whatever animal he kills... And all the prep work and cooking and stuff...

Exactly. I eat multiple types of meat every day, needing to prepare all of that myself would probably take longer each day than my job.

You also seem to think you can eat an entire goose in one sitting. If that's the case, when shit hits the fan you'd better git gud at hunting, butchering, and cooking animals.

Haha. That's the thing. We're hoping we never have to...

Do I need to skin, gut and prepare it every goddamn time? Because that's a lot more time than I can invest.

I mean, can I just line up a few of them up and put one between their soulful little eyes, and be set for a month and have other people do the prep work?
