Pretty sure the Democrats could've nominated Republican Mitt Romney, and the narrative would be that he's a far-left socialist who wants to destroy America.

The problem for that them is that's not the narrative.

AJ had literally been written off TV and the OC had barely done anything even prior.

Yes, Heyman very likely had no plans for them, especially when he was pushing a youth movement and giving the belts to groups like the Viking Raiders and Street Profits.

AJ convinced them to stay (they had considered leaving for AEW).
They were ultimately released.
AJ had a source who told him it was Heyman.
AJ confronted Heyman, Heyman denied it and said if he lying to "fucking bury" him in public.
AJ went back to his source who said Heyman was lying.
AJ ultimately went to Vince who said they weren't originally on their list of releases but were ultimately added at the behest of Heyman.
AJ ultimately refused to work with Heyman anymore and was moved to Smackdown.
