If you've been playing them a long time, I might be asking the wrong person but I'll shoot.

Is it hard to get into? I've heard these games are notorious for the amount of grinding and upkeep required. Is it as bad as I've heard?

The new one is by far the easiest to get into. They ease you into the new additions and quest structure without being too slow. Grinding is only there if you want specific weapons/armor since they require a certain number of each material. But you generally get enough just fighting a monster once or twice, so grinding isn't too excessive. And the thing about World, is that yes you can repeat fights to grind gear, but so many fights play so differently unlike previous games. One time I was swinging across vines at the top of a tree to kill a Rathalos, and another he was chasing me through a forest then he got into a fight with another dragon mid chase (so it essentially became a 1v1v1). World is super dynamic.

And worst case scenario, if your armor isn't the best you can just call up some help from someone else online (it pulls from EVERYONE playing the game at that time so there's plenty of people.

As for upkeep, if by that you mean having to play consistently, the only thing you miss are the weekly events, which are cool, but not a deal breaker imo. There's a lot to MH regardless of how you play honestly.

I never once said the movie was bad, nor did I claim it was good "just because of the skin color of the actors." But the ridiculous attention it's getting from the media -- being compared to Obama's election and such -- is because of the skin color of the actors. And the reason black action movies didn't get this kind of treatment in the 90s was because America didn't have this ridiculous race obsession that's been fueled by the identity politics movement.

It has nothing to do with reading comprehension. I'm referring to the blatant implications and the specific wording in your post. A movie can be good AND speak a message about race (although I'd say this movie doesn't even go far as I expected it to go all preachy on me and was surprised that it wasn't). The people making this out to be such a monumental movement are clearly in the minority, even if they're a vocal one. You only come across as daft by acting like those are the majority of the people hyping this movie up.

Black Panther is getting support from various circles, and yes, I do agree that some circles are bad, but they do not encompass all of the fervor pushing this movie forward.

This is also ignoring the fact that not only is Blade specifically a poor example, there aren't as many movies that have as high of a budget as this movie, have tons of support from various groups of people, and it's the movie preceding a sequel to one of the best selling movies of all time. Of course it was bound to be hyped up.

it's definitely not just online only. The depth of the story mode surprised me. No its not just play fight then cutscene, there's a grid based world system where you move and fight enemies and bosses while leveling up and getting equipment for your fighters. It's a lot more deep than I expected.

The lack of DLC is so stupid, but PS Now is a great service. Still dumb as hell I don't have my PS1/PS2 games via BC or even digital download, but having pretty much every major PS3 game is great. It's up to over 600 games now and the library keeps on growing.

It only cost $60 for an entire year back in November which is cheap as hell for all you have access to.

I was happy thinking TLJ was a mediocre to okay movie with its issues, but now I remember that they dropped one of the most interesting introductions into TFA with the Knights of Ren. Yeah Amazon has been dropping the ball this past year or two. I've seen dozens of issues from various places, and threads on places like reddit with hundreds to thousands of upvotes talking about the issues. Not sure what happened.

And the customer service is so freaking hit and miss. Generally it's mediocre, but twice now I've gotten super lucky and the employees offered me $50 (split between two different orders) for being damaged or late. Other times they tell me too fucking bad or promise to extend my prime and magically forget about it and I'm SoL without any compensation.

Sorry to hear that though, tc. They're always infinitely worse during holidays, and they aren't always the best to begin with (esp with release day products).

People seem to forget that the PS2 didn't sell that remarkably in Japan. The 3DS outsold it years ago. So did even the PSP iirc.
