I got a phone call reminder to pick up my pre order literally two minutes before seeing this topic, so...yes, very much so.

Imagine if you decided to rest up in the bed in the evil team's lair and you woke up and discovered they took the opportunity to steal your Poke Balls, leaving you entirely helpless. Then they beat you to within an inch of your life and sold you into slavery in an as of yet unmentioned region where there are no Pokemon battles because "trainers" instead solve their differences by making abused children fight to the death. Then you woke up again and realized it was all a dream and you actually never even left home because your mother wasn't a neglectful bitch who lets a 10 year go wandering across the country for no reason, and because of her kindness and love the bad guys destroyed the universe. Or recreated it. Or flooded it. Or all of the above. And it's all Mom's fault.

I suspect it was the original Super Mario Bros, but I don't remember with 100% certainty if I actually finished it back then. Super Mario World is the first game where I'm totally sure I did beat it.

One of the busiest buildings on the local university campus, not quite sure which one but in practice they're all about the same for my purposes. For the most part all I'd do is listen in on people's conversations, then follow them and whisper to them that they were wrong about things quietly enough that they're not sure they even heard anything at all. Or I'd listen to people talk so I could pick up on people's names, then call out to them from behind so they turn and see no one there. Also if anyone tried to find a secluded corner to have sex in (which they would because, you know, university) I'd hover in the wall nearby and give play by play commentary on their performance just barely loud enough for them to hear.

Great story overall, great atmosphere and it does a really good job of actually giving you reason to get invested in the various endings, a nice departure from the usual SMT thing where you often either don't really find out what you're doing until you commit to it or you just get told up front "hey this is the option to make the world suck, so is this, pick which flavour of awful you like yay".

The alarm in my building was malfunctioning for a while a few months ago, would just go off briefly at random times. And by random times I mean literally always somewhere between midnight and 4 AM. Was kind of annoying

I don't like this group all that much even though I really like the overall pool of their evolved forms. Mudsdale, Hippowdon, Sandslash and Donphan are all great but their baby selves are just meh. I want to like Sandshrew but it's basically the patron saint of annoying Pokemon that just spam Sand Attack on you all day in every battle to waste your time. So I voted for Cubone.

Lost Horizon - Awakening the World

Blaze Black early game is rough for challenges. Whole game can be, but that first rotation battle against six competent Pokemon is brutal if you're doing something like a Nuzlocke where you have barely any team options or a mono-type run where you're using a type that loses to theirs

Not actively the way you can in V. In Nocturne you can switch Magatamas for their stat boosts to try to rig your agility to be where you want it, though in practice that's pretty useless to do since you usually just want to have the right elemental immunity and besides turn order agility does jack shit beyond the early game.

I can mostly keep track of the Tapus but I sometimes get Fini and Lele mixed up, and when I get them straight I sometimes still manage to think that Tapu Lele is somehow Fairy/Fairy. Like, I know it's not mono-Fairy, but I still think of it as having Fairy for both typings before I realize that's fucking stupid.

Most of this looks good but the Noble Pokemon thing looks pretty shit and I'm having a hard time seeing it not getting old pretty fast when it doesn't look like there's much to do beyond just throw things at barely mobile Pokemon who largely ignore you. Seems like it will be fun at first but wear out its welcome awfully quick.

Go to the bathroom and test out if it's going to take a conscious effort to not super shit my toilet through the floor or if that's automatic.

He's not wrong about what he said though, if you do some research what his bit was about is accurate. Someone that experiences a traumatic event was coined shellshocked. A two syllable impactful word, short and sweet that has more meaning to it than the jumbled mess of words post traumatic stress disorder.

This has always been a dumb point since medical terms aren't about being "short and sweet" and sounding cool, and post traumatic stress disorder is a hell of a lot more accurate, especially given that today very few people who have PTSD have it for reasons related to what the term shellshock references.

I already have one obnoxious, whiny little bastard to take care of - myself. I really can't handle another one.

Yes, you can't truly complete a Pokemon game without outside assistance, whereas other JRPGs you can indeed beat on your own

It's pretty good. A lot of the items are pretty useless and the world is too big for the amount of content it has but overall I liked it a fair bit

Got to love gen 1 fighting types being completely awful with only one being able to kind of sort of pretend it's a (bad) niche pick despite the top three Pokemon that are on 99.9% of teams all being normal types.

I don't get why Heal Order got cut but Defend Order and Attack Order stuck around. All three are Vespiquen unique, and it's not like Heal Order is any less distinct than Defend Order (Vespiquen gets Roost but that at least has another property to it, Defend Order would be entirely redundant if Vespiquen just learned Cosmic Power instead). Attack Order sticking around at least makes sense.
