Elena's had a weird run. She went eight contests where she finished in the upper half just once until she finally got booted, and then she missed seven contests before coming back last year with her best performance by far. This year is more in line with her usual M.O. Almost perfectly so, in fact. With this finish, Elena slightly increases from 32.24% to 32.52%, but she doesn't pass anyone, so she stands pat at 89th place.

She has no New Era STATS since this is only her second appearance in it.

Though on the flip side, it had a potentially hilariously and stupidly overpowered weapon to balance it out

Just imagine Vaan in an RTS game zooming across the battlefield heading straight towards the mission objective enemy and whacking him to death in a few hits

Too bad to get it that powerful you need to clear the optional dungeon like dozens of times

Also, you guys say I love furries just for being furries, and that's not true. I mean, first off, Red and Kimahri are just average for me. In Kimahri's case, he's still better than most of the cast, but that still puts him way behind Auron and Rikku.

Really, Fran and Freya are furries that just happen to occupy an archetype I like. Final Fantasy has the whole rule of threes with female characters: you've got the female lead (usually some sort of healer or summoner), the young perky girl, and the "older" more badass girl. I, with few exceptions, LOVE the "badass girl" archetype in FF. Faris, Celes, Tifa, Quistis, Freya, Fran, Fang. Lulu's the only real flop in my opinion. Maybe Rosa too...I think she might fit that role since Rydia's a summoner.

FF4's a tough one, like I said. Rosa's in the female lead role, technically, but Rydia's the more relevant character and is a summoner.

I don't agree she's more relevant though at all. How often they're in your party is kind of a wash but Rosa's more plot centric more often

Fran's appearance is a large part of why she's great, but I like her more as a good comedic foil for Balthier. I like Balthier more than Fran, because he's witty and charming, but I like Fran's role as the straight man to his cockiness, and her quiet "bitch please" attitude.

Fran is the Ryan O'Neal to Balthier's Barbara Streisand (assuming anyone knows what film I'm referring to). It's actually a very apt comparison.

When the party is full I usually go Balthier/Ashe/Basch and be done with it as they are the three best characters by a mile

Fran is good for a witty one-liner here and there but not much else.

Still puts her ahead of Vaan and Penelo, at least.

I go either Balthier/Fran/Penelo (my three favorites) or Ashe/Fran/Penelo (for girl power and that one Ultros battle.)
