I'm the opposite. Mostly cause it asks to go online half the time anyway with updates and such. I guess achievements are kinda neat too. And it's usually fine but sometimes I forget to set it to offline in advance when I want to use it and "whoops"

It's like I have Steam in online mode, then want to play it somewhere with no Internet, I try to start in offline mode and it's like "you need an internet connection to do this." No kidding I need an Internet connection why do you think I'm trying to go offline?

Okay yeah, foresight helps most of the time here, cause you can run fine in offline mode if you set it beforehand, but it still seems pretty stupid that you need an Internet connection to turn offline mode on.

Yeah I just dissed lord VALVE's product design what are you gonna do about it. (seriously is there any legitimate reason for this beyond poor design choices?)

I like most of the VAs in the game. For some reason the Female Witch Doctor didn't do much for me though. I love the Male Witch Doctor in all his cheesy stereotypical goodness though.

Getting that first corpse is obnoxious if you're not well geared and 20 shadow master doesn't help that it just tanks for you. Which is nice, but not if you don't have good damage to back it up.

Point is un super geared you want to avoid getting in close unless you have to and that build you have there makes you do it all the time to kill things quickly whereas a 20 ls build only needs to do it for lightning immunes.

Not really. I've ran 20 shadow master plenty in HC before. It's really good for tanking and safety against bosses but even at 20 its damage isn't enough to kill anything at a reasonable rate. A 20 ls synergized with death sentry will shred anything that's not lightning immune which that build will have trouble with (getting the first corpse anyway) without a ridiculous gear setup. Granted it doesn't have to be as ridiculous as that one-- I've done it fine with just like goreriders and a rift scepter but it does have to have better than crap you find on the ground to down enemies effectively.

And it's best to minimize the necessity of using dragon tail as best you can unless you have life tap or crazy resist/life gear cause otherwise you might die sometimes.

It's better than Shadow Master for PVM is all I'm saying. Shadow Master only needs like 5-10 ranks (which you can get with 1 rank and + skills) to do what you want it to-- get people off your back. Against ubers Shadow Master is better cause lol elemental damage against them but yeah. That build doesn't kill things nearly as safely/quickly as a ls build does with gear that isn't godly.

I can't comment on the other two but the scoundrel's totally useful. His blinding shot and slowing shot are good cc and can hit a lot of guys if you give him the triple arrow thing since all three arrows will unleash blinding/slowing AoEs I believe.

Either that or the AoEs are just pretty decent.

Also if you stack dex on him he does okay damage. My Scoundrel's base damage is 200 right now which is pretty decent actually considering I'm spending no resources on him. He outdamages my hydras

Well, I had discussed doing a topic for the Terminator with Ed, but apparently every Arnold Terminator in all three movies is a different robot, so I wasn't sure what sort of "confusion" this would cause among the voters.

I don't see a problem with it. You'd just be rating the Arnold Terminator as a concept. They're all the same model technically they just have different objectives each time.

Valkyria Chronicles as a dozen have said-- I wouldn't recommend VC2 for the PSP though unless you really love the gameplay-- in which case go for it.
Bayonetta is probably the second best DMC styled action game out there, behind DMC3
Mass Effect 2/3 would probably appeal to you if you could get access to ME1 somehow (since it's not on PS3)-- they're shooter style games with RPG elements and a decent story/neat setting.
Dragon Age Origins is an action RPG. It's uhh "western styled" so it may not appeal to you but I thought it was pretty enjoyable. I guess the same is true for Mass Effect games.
Disgaea 4 "maybe" if you liked earlier games in the series. It's basically more of the same, though.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I prefer playing on hardcore or not.

Hardcore is more exciting because there's something to fear but at the same time it's kinda boring because it makes you act overly careful so you progress slowly, also makes you take risks and experiment less with skills and items.

Like I would never go full int glass canon on my wizard because I'd be too scared of dying.
Yeah there are a lot of cheap tricks that make HC seem less appealing in this game. Like literally getting one shotted by something in HC through no big mistake of my own seems unenjoyable. I may not actually get into it this time around. The only reason I did in d2 was because d2 was really easy. This game is fairly challenging normally so.

In any case I'm glad I at least started with normal. So many cheap tricks in just nightmare. Those arcane sentries for instance from arcane enchanted destroyed me the first time I saw them simply because I didn't really know what they were I just saw a bunch of purple things around me and then they all fired and it was like "oh god oh god." I shudder to think how many things there will be to learn in hell and inferno.

I might try it out after I've seen everything in normal mode though.

Yikes my wizard had a heck of a time with Belial in NM. Had to change skills and gear because I was literally getting one shotted by the third form. Had to give myself energy armor and a wand that gave +120 vit or something from the auction house. Kinda grew on me though. I may replace prism armor with energy armor.

Took 5 tries or so it was terrible. First boss in the game I've died to more than once.

Also sucks that teleport changes the camera angle on him. Really disorienting.

Yeah that assassin build is inferior to mine if you don't have the gear for it, though. You really want a powerful lightning sentry if you don't have silly stuff like last wish.

Well arguably my build is better regardless for non uber purposes 20 shadow master has dubious use.

(Also why would you use Dracul's Grasp if you have Last Wish)
