Act 3 always makes me wish I was playing a sorceress if I'm not.

Assassins have act 3 really easy if they go traps. Wake of fire and later death sentry destroy it.

They're probably the easiest class to do if you don't have good gear even better than Sorceresses just because they have more survivability.

Me, Wang and VMB just played this game. Me and Wang were first timing it actually. We did... Cold Sorc/Arrow Amazon/Shapeshifting Druid at first and switched to Fire Sorc/Poison Amazon/Tank Barb

after we respeced it became a lot more fun. We chunked most of the later bosses tho. 1000 damage meteors and fireballs.

That hasn't been the case since like patch 1.09. They're viable till endgame now, basically, if you give them the points.

They still have some issues with act bosses to be fair cause act bosses do double damage or something to them.

But they have better damage and more importantly an actual attack rating now so they can actually hit things. Meaning against Duriel you can amp him and while he's going to crush your skeletons one by one he'll be dead or mostly dead by the time he gets through all of them.

The only boss I ever remember having trouble with using a summoner was normal Diablo.

Your army usually isn't strong enough by then for that fight to not be a complete pain in the butt.

Best assassin in the game, and the best part is last year I built this entire thing 100% legit. Shoenin can attest. She is my pride and joy, and is the reason I will never play D2 again. This will never be topped.

Yeah that assassin build is inferior to mine if you don't have the gear for it, though. You really want a powerful lightning sentry if you don't have silly stuff like last wish.

Well arguably my build is better regardless for non uber purposes 20 shadow master has dubious use.

(Also why would you use Dracul's Grasp if you have Last Wish)

I used to have a smiter that did uber tristram solo in under a minute. Found this bad ass zakarum shield with 45 res that I glitched and made a 1500 defense exile with it.

Used a heavens light with 15ias 15 all res jewels. Same jewel in my guillames.

Raven and dwarf star rings with a highlords amulet. Tgods belt. Gore rider boots. Cant remember what gloves though.

Ofcourse I only found a few of those items myself. Traded for most of it and duped the runes and jewels.

Oh and I used Duress armor instead of Coh.

Ofcourse this character was made for a very specific purpose.

I still say the best all around build in the game is a lightning sorceress with infinity on your merc.

Man, almost ate my first death. Forgot about that stupid nest of Hollow Ones in the room with the Horadric Cube. Ended up throwing up a Town Portal and running through with no health <_<

It's better than Shadow Master for PVM is all I'm saying. Shadow Master only needs like 5-10 ranks (which you can get with 1 rank and + skills) to do what you want it to-- get people off your back. Against ubers Shadow Master is better cause lol elemental damage against them but yeah. That build doesn't kill things nearly as safely/quickly as a ls build does with gear that isn't godly.

Not really. I've ran 20 shadow master plenty in HC before. It's really good for tanking and safety against bosses but even at 20 its damage isn't enough to kill anything at a reasonable rate. A 20 ls synergized with death sentry will shred anything that's not lightning immune which that build will have trouble with (getting the first corpse anyway) without a ridiculous gear setup. Granted it doesn't have to be as ridiculous as that one-- I've done it fine with just like goreriders and a rift scepter but it does have to have better than crap you find on the ground to down enemies effectively.

And it's best to minimize the necessity of using dragon tail as best you can unless you have life tap or crazy resist/life gear cause otherwise you might die sometimes.

Getting that first corpse is obnoxious if you're not well geared and 20 shadow master doesn't help that it just tanks for you. Which is nice, but not if you don't have good damage to back it up.

Point is un super geared you want to avoid getting in close unless you have to and that build you have there makes you do it all the time to kill things quickly whereas a 20 ls build only needs to do it for lightning immunes.

I'm with Lopen here. I usually went with LS and a low leveled SM. My basic idea was to spam cast the SM to keep mobs confused (constantly turning in different directions to attack) so I wouldn't have to worry about my merc at all while that +7k LS clears rooms in a matter of seconds. Get your hands on a Infinity runeword and it's gg pvm.

I hate Act 3 so much. Killed every last stupid pygmy in the Flayer Jungle, then spent a solid hour running around trying to find the Gidbinn

Past the Council, which handed me I think my third death. They'll all been of the "I have full health, and now I'm dead what just happened" sort

Usually what happens with the council is the guy that's fire enchanted gets you with his corpse explosion when he dies.

If your fire resistance isn't very strong it's pretty much gonna be an instant death if you're not far enough away.

Past Mephisto, who was nothing. Those damn liches tossing Fire Wall around were more of a pain

And past Diablo. Ended up getting super cheap with him, since his opening lightning spam killed all of my helpers and my Merc in one hit. Summon a Blood Golem, Iron Maiden and run away. He kills the Golem. Summon another. Repeat until dead

If you lead act boss fights with decrepify + clay golem (an ice mage also can help) it usually slows them down enough that they won't instawipe your skeletons.
