Fallout New Vegas specifically did this to me. I had to cut my playthrough short and rush to the ending because the frames were starting to jitter and the loading times were becoming insane.

This happened to me in Dragon Age: Origins. I sold basically every item in the game to the same vendor (the one at your base camp, it was convenient!) and apparently the game took offense to that and corrupted my save file. Happened to some others too. Luckily I had a backup save from a few hours back but man did it still suck.

I feel like this is the first Smash release since Terry people are actually hyped about. People liked Steve being included, but I think it was more of a 'his moveset is interesting and Minecraft deserves it' than being actually hyped to play Steve. Sephiroth is going to be in every online match for the next two weeks.

I tried the remake and didn't like it quite as much. I prefer how dungeons are handled in the original, and generally prefer 2D-style DQ games to 3D.

A lot of the Smash inclusions happen because gaming companies gave this inherent deep-seated respect for Nintendo. Being in Smash is prestigious. Disney won't give a fuck. They'll ask for way more than Nintendo is willing to give.

Actually how popular is Skyrim in Japan? Dragonborn could maybe work as a surprise western pick. Japan likes the medieval fantasy aesthetic overall.

But I would put money on Sans being upgraded before Chief, Doomguy, Sub-Zero, Drake, Lara ect. getting in.

MK characters won't get in because they're too western. Literally every DLC character has been an eastern character except for Banjo and Steve. The former is honorary Nintendo and Minecraft is super popular in Japan. I don't think western characters are being intentionally excluded, but if you're Sakurai and you have the option to pick Sub-Zero or a character you're more familiar with and who is more popular in your home country, the choice is clear.

This is why characters like Doomguy always seemed like a pipe dream. No idea how that one took off. The only realistic western possibility right now is Crash but I think that's also stretching it.

I wouldn't play FF14 without controller support. I tried mouse + keyboard and kind of hated it. Did pretty good parse numbers back when I did Raiding too, so I don't think it held me back.

Setting up a comfortable hotbar is important. Eventually you'll have enough abilities where you'll have an off-GCD to use most of the time. Do you know the difference between a GCD and off-GCD move? It doesn't really matter at your point but it can't hurt to understand the concept.

I don't get people's obsession wanting Melee players to move on. If it's their favorite game why would they? There's nothing inherently wrong with sticking with the thing you like the most.

Arguments about personality of the players (and BO) is one thing. Getting salty that a group of people aren't beholden to the most recent shiny thing is straight-up weird. I say this as someone who hasn't played Melee in over a decade and usually doesn't stick with game for very long before moving on.

Oh indeed. Keep in mind I have literally over 250 DAYS of playtime and have played since Beta.

It's not going to take him anywhere near this long to get there if he's just playing casually, but yes there's quite a bit of game available for you to play. I like to think of FF14 less as one game and more of a Final Fantasy subseries, with A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers being direct sequels of each other. Each expansion is almost as long as a mainline game even if you're just playing casually.

Oops, actually meant to say Duty Finder. Party Finder people take a bit more seriously as people are searching for people with specific requirements (and often doing high-end content). For someone just playing through the story, Duty Finder is the way to go.

You'll die plenty of times throughout a playthrough, especially against later bosses. Vast majority of people don't care, especially if you ask questions and learn. Can count on one hand the amount of jerks I matched up with in FF14 Party Finder.

It did for me, at least. There's still COVID but that never went away in the first place, and Trump's is splitting his bed-shitting between the country and the Republican Party instead of just the country. All his attempts at grabbing more power have failed and he'll be out...not soon, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Also I'm going to push back a bit against the 'Democrats are bad at messaging progressive policies' thing. I feel like progressives are actually fairly good at messaging their policies. The issue comes from the Democratic establishment, the majority of who simply don't want progressive policies and will never adopt them unless there is overwhelming support, and sometimes not even then. The establishment isn't bad at messaging progressive policies - they don't message them in the first place and will often go against them when possible.

The establishment is, however, bad at messaging their own stuff. So hey.

While true, I think I would've had problems with it even without experiencing the game with the Fast option from the start. Animations take a while and everyone moves lethargically.

The higher Speed options aren't perfect either as they didn't adjust the sound effects properly, so everything is out of sync. Honestly the best way to experience DQ11's combat is in 2D mode.
