Yeah, a common complaint I see is "I entered a jungle level and a caveman with the door in his line of sight instantly threw a boomerang at me before I could even move" but, like, that's really funny

That's how I feel about some of the stuff the Souls games throw at you. Most of it can be predicted through caution and observation, and then you go to open a chest and oh god it's eating you. It's not especially fair but it's honestly hilarious (and is easily avoidable on the second try).

I've been hemmoraghing fathers recently. Too many projects. I have a *lot* of Donnels I want to merge but he's only up to 5*+2 because someone else always takes priority due to various reasons. I brought Lyon up to *5 because he's one of my favorite characters, and now I'm thinking about Marth out of arena necessity. It never ends.

It's actually hard to say. Ike took first Male side despite the split vote so it didn't matter. For Farfetched Heroes, the top 4 characters were the same regardless of if you combined characters or not. Mia's position would move up among the 4 but that doesn't change the top 4. For the CYL Voting Gauntlet, Marth was snubbed for Chrom despite combined Marth having more votes than Chrom so that's not a good sign.

I have no idea why Intelligent Systems wants to sabotage the face of Fire Emblem but they seem to be intent on doing that.

Desperation is extremely good on fast, strong glass cannons. It's the best B slot skill for basically all of them. Many of them don't have the defenses to survive more than one counterattack from...basically any enemy. It might not be the best choice for Marisa simply because she's actually got a decent amount of defense, but a lot of people on my main rotation use it to great effectiveness.

Refine Wo Dao+, Reposition or Draw Back for the support skill, Luna or Moonbow for the special, Desperation (probably) for the B skill. Her default A and C skills combo well together so it's not entirely necessary to change that.

The rhythm game seems fun.

I don't expect a ton out of this game though. I don't expect it to be something that eats up a significant chunk of my time like a 'real' game would, so I'm fairly easily pleased. As far as I'm concerned, if I want to fully scratch the Fire Emblem itch, I'll play an actual Fire Emblem game (which I recently did with Echoes).

I read through that article, and while the author makes some very valid points, the article is like three times longer than it needs to be and he comes across as very...pompous? Elitist? Overdramatic? Not sure how to describe it. The tone of the article just rubs me the wrong way.

I watched several videos of the PS2/PS3 and PS4 gameplay to compare graphics. Thoughts:

1. PS2/PS3 has a lot of bloom which is missed. PS4 version feels too dark and less dreamworld-y.
2. The increased FPS almost hurts the style, in that stupid way that Hollywood has trained us to think that anything above 30 FPS looks 'fake'.
3. With that said, the PS4 fur is sooo good.

Oberyn's questionable because his TV portrayal is exactly the same as the book portrayal. The TV show just introduced him to a wider audience.

I also think X-23 has been adapted a lot more than Oberyn, even if she hasn't been on the big screen. Comics, games, and animated movies do matter.

Either way it's murky waters you have to tread to think about. I still wish I had anti-voted Vulture back in Round 1 when the match ended dup being a tie. I almost did but I've never played Night in the Woods so I just abstained.

See, this I don't quite get. They may be from the same but they're at least original characters, and both have very different personalities from each other. Although my personal preference is that 2B probably shouldn't have gotten as far as she did.
