Being charismatic means you can make people atleast okay with, if not outright for, something they don't want to hear. It means you can sway an audience, it means you can bring them around to your side through pure charm, wit, and what have you.

This is true to an extent, but I can guarantee you that there exists no Republican politician that can go against the will of their voterbase. Anyone who steps out of line is punished by the indoctrinated. That's simply how their party works, and I don't think there's a person alive charismatic enough to go against it.

Trump has swayed a TON of middle-ground folk to the GOP. Mostly people that usually voted Republican regardless, but their previously...I'll say 30% of voting Democratic is now 0.

Trump is very good at speaking - again, just not in the way that people in this topic series appreciate. Do you honestly think that so many people would love listening to his stupid fucking rallies if he didn't resonate with them? The fact that he's rambling and saying nothing of substance is immaterial. The literal way he speaks itself is engaging to them, and that's all that matters for most people when choosing who to support.

I feel like people in this topic series categorically do not make an effort to understand why a creature like Trump became influential. You can't just say 'Trump has zero charisma, Trump is bad at speaking' when he has massive popularity among a good 1/3 of the country. Part of it is because he's saying what they want to hear, but the rest of it IS Trump himself. Do you honestly think, say, Ted Cruz would have been able to convince idiots to relate to him, even if he said the exact same thing Trump did?

Female Byleth has a bad design but the picture just posted might be the worst outfit I've ever seen in a main character. I literally would not play a game where I'm expected to control that for 50 hours.

He Who Fights with Monsters, Defiance of the Fall, Primal Hunter, Bastian, and Aster Fall are series that off the top of my head get better numbers than mine. LitRPG is a rapidly growing market and you have to understand that there are TONS of books on amazon. If I'm in the top three percentile, that still leaves a lot of room for people to be above me. And as fun as screenshots like the one above are, it's not like that lasts. I'm not beating Harry Potter after another week passes.

Speaking realistically, I'm not even close to the most popular fantasy LitRPG on the market. I'm in the upper echelon, but there's big names to tap before adaptation-hunters would think of me. It's a relatively new market that has yet to be exploited by Hollywood.

Funnily enough, I somehow got Book 1 included in the 'Movie and TV Tie-Ins' book subcategory. Pretty sure it's still there.

Amazon has a bunch of weird foibles. Like how a book's position on the Top Fantasy listing will change before the Kindle number ranking on its actual product page. Or how, every day on 10 PM EST, a book's internal page read metrics will jump up for no reason.

It's no Kefka, but it keeps me entertained.

Watching book metrics update every 15 minutes is filling the void that GameFAQs contests left behind.

It'll be the natural endpoint of the story, essentially. It's not the kind of series that can go on forever.

The Pixar stuff is actually cool and had the potential to be woven into the plot, but they chicken out every time by having the main villain summon a random heartless and leave at the end. Insane that they thought that was a good idea.

The problem with the later parts being okay is that the majority of the game feels like it's spinning its wheels. 'Disjointed' is an understatement.

I'm impressed at how you're able to churn out sequels. Did you plan out the entire five-book series at the start and then fill everything in as you went along?

Broad strokes at the start, plan more as I go along, leave room for improvisation as necessary. Was originally going to be three books but fantasy creep happens way too often.

I took a long break after Book 3 which helped a lot. Definitely feeling the hints of burn out creeping, though. I still really care about the story and will make it as good as I can, but staying on one project for a long time is draining.

ASBR = Kindle ranking. Kind of absurd how similar both are. You can really see the guiding hand of the algorithm at work.

Is the demo something that will transfer over to the main game? Those are the only kinds of demos I'll bite on.

Honestly even if this remake isn't necessary, that's fine. It's not being made for the people who already played it - it's made for the newer crowd who might have missed out on the first release (or the second release, lol). And more game preservation is always a good thing.

Addendum: According to recent updates, TOG may not have stolen my money, but Andrew Hussie mega mishandled it. Which is still bad but less cursed.

Currently rank 558 on the Kindle store. Book 2 peaked at rank 93, and I don't know if Book 3 can do quite that well due to some delays that happened between B2 and B3, but it's had a mostly-good start so far. Fingers crossed!

You misunderstand me - politicians are absolute trash as well. But the voters are still mostly to blame. If they held politicians to standards, then Biden might actually feel pressured to sign a bunch of executive orders. From his perspective, it probably doesn't matter if he does or not, because half the country is being held hostage by Nazis who make it impossible for Democratic voters to vote for any Republican in good conscience.

For the record, I don't agree with this. Trump had a supermajority and no self-restraint and got shockingly little done outside of Supreme Court justices. The GOP drags their feet just as much if not more than the Democrats - they're just better at pretending.

The electorate (and public in general) are far more to blame than any politicians. Politicians only have power because people elect them.
