| JBaLLEN66 07/24/17 9:29:28 PM #1 | First the good , I work for a large fortune 10 company that provides me great job benefits, job security(as of right now), and a decent salary. Now the bad, the job is extremely repititve and the salary I'm making now won't be decent when I'm like 26. It's good now because I'm 24 and just starting out. The worst news, my company has this leadership program where they hire college students from exclusive schools(bosses favorite sports schools) and they pretty much have a leg up and are meant to fill out the middle management and some executive level positions when the boomers and gen Xers retire. This means that I'm pretty much capped at the company unless I bust my ass off to get promoted in which they'll still have a leg up on me regardless. For example, for a management position, they'll be placed in that position in 2 years while it could take me 5-10 years to get there with me having to compete with not only them but people in my position too. I've already decided that I'm going to leave eventually because I have options and that's complete bull ****, but I quit my first job in 7 months and have only been at this one for like 8.
