Pretty sure AdGuard implements their DNS with the VPN so that would be the same. Also that's good I guess, that it isn't just with the phone. There's quite a bit of posts over on Reddit with people complaining about things not working that would be a dealbreaker for me, such as hotspot etc (after updating), so hopefully my road bumps are minimal.

Oh yea, updates are a hit or miss. The last December update, Google pulled it because it kept screwing up.

Speaking of updates, what's with having to wait until the carrier releases the update, and not when Google releases it?

And finally, I can't believe I forgot this, but iMessages and Facetime is greatly missed.

They literally don't give a shit. They'll come, take your keys and title, then drive it to get it lined up to their truck, wench it up, and drive off. No detailed inspection, no driving a mile around the block.

Bummer, I have a Pixel 6 (not the pro) on the way so I'm hoping I don't get too many bugs after I apply updates. I know it's a new chip and things are still getting worked out and Google has been sloppy at best on that front. The GPS bug in particular sounds annoying. Did you use a DNS adblock? IMO It's the only way to go on android.

The GPS bug is with Android Auto; I haven't gotten hit with that bug with just the phone.

I use AdGuard VPN; unsure if that's DNS or not. That functionality exists for iPhone but you can't pick individual apps for it to apply to. So apps that are finicky with AdBlock, you have to turn off the whole thing.

Long time Apple user, and I got suckered in with the tensor chip, magic eraser, and camera quality.

But honestly, Google Chrome sucks ass (I really dislike this grouped tab bullshit, and now it constantly bugs me with "follow this site" prompts), tensor chip is nothing special (thought it'd make the phone/OS experience more stable, but I'm experiencing random bugs like transparent notification bar, Google Maps thinks I'm in a different state until I restart the phone, random crashes), and the video recordings on Pixel sucks compared to iPhone.

The camera for stills is freaking amazing sometimes, but in other times, the photos it produces look so fake: way too HDRy, with no way to disable that crap.

The only thing I really like about android over iOS is the easy file management and adblocking. But that's it.

I'm going to probably trade this phone in for the iPhone 14 Max.

GameStop.com had same day shipping option so picked it. Surprise to me, DoorDash driver showed up and handed me a GameStop bag with my new Switch games. He then just stood around waiting... I said thanks and closed the door.

Two questions:

1. Why is DoorDash delivering GameStop orders?

About 1 hour in, and kind of disappointed at the lack of characters and lack of voice acting. I know Genshin took a lot of inspirations from Zelda BOTW, but BOTW, so far, kinda feels like a cheap version of Genshin...

Yea my wife and I played it; it was great. I'm sold on the Switch.

Bought Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D, and Zelda Breath of the Wild as well just now; also bought another pair of joy cons, a screen protector, and a joy con charging station.

Going all in on Switch.

Bought a Switch OLED at a local GameStop, and picked up Mario Party Superstars.

Say a scientific breakthrough happened and you can stop or reverse aging. But this technology costs hundreds of millions of dollars, that only the very rich can afford.

Just get the Wii U. You can put custom firmware on it, effortlessly, and you pretty much have Nintendo's entire catalog open to play, whether it's actual releases, VC games, custom VC games or emulated games.

I rang the doorbell, he answered, I said I was worried about him because I didn't see him walk his dog recently, and he laughed. He said he may be old but he's not senile and thanked me for caring about him.

He's fine. He said thanks for worrying about him lol. He said he doesn't like walking out in the cold, so he's just been letting his dog out at his backyard.

My neighbor is an older guy (like 70ish) and lives alone with just his dog. It snowed a lot about three days ago, and I cleared his driveway. Since then, there's no sign of him (no snow tracks of cars or footsteps of him and his dog).

I'm not that friendly with him (nor am I unfriendly with him); just a neighbor. Kind of worried if he's okay... Should I just go over there and ring the doorbell, or just call 911 for a wellness check?

idk thought it was interesting humans built it, not AI built itself.

Finished the 3rd one. It was cheesy and wasn't as "serious" as the 1st and 2nd, but I sort of liked it. The twists were great: US built Skynet, the officer sent the daughter and John to a safe space and not the main computer; then the world exploded. Definitely didn't see the last one coming. I enjoyed 3 more than 1, but like 2 the most.

So the next one is Terminator Salvation, and that has a 33% on RT... must suck. I might watch it tomorrow.

I was going to go with Terminator 3 later tonight. RT has it at 69%, but I liked Terminator 2 better and that had a more worse RT rating... maybe Terminator 3 will be even better for me lol.

I liked Terminator 2 much better. Acting was still cringey (except for Arnie and T1000), but it was much more entertaining. My mind was blown when Arnie was the good guy, and also really liked the story of "father and son" better (like Arnie can learn and stuff).

Will be watching Terminator 2 tomorrow. Hope it's better!

Just finished watching it for the first time and it was actually kind of boring. The pacing wasn't that good, music sucked, story was barebones, action was meh (literally just people running away and getting shot), special effects was meh (those machines and jets looked legit like a toy), acting was very meh (except Arnie; he was great!), virtually no dialogue, and even the romance seemed so random and forced.

I hope Terminator 2 is better, but I doubt it since it's rated worse on RT.

I don't understand why no knock warrants are a thing. That must be dangerous for both the person in the house and the officers...

Let her doctor address any weight gain concerns. It is a legitimate issue, but it is a medical issue. Go with her to her next appointment if you can.

I think we're good now. We made up, and I asked her if I can come to her next prenatal appointment in February, and she said yes. I can ask the doctor about her weight...

Yea doc said it's healthy to gain 25lbs during the entire pregnancy. And she's only a little over halfway done and she already gained 20lbs! I know baby grows exponentially starting from here, so it shouldn't be this much.

Last night, I said this... Basically agreed she's getting fatter than she should be, and she should consider toning down on eating and doing light exercises like the doctor recommended because she's almost already at the limit of healthy weight gain during pregnancy.

Bah.

Guys I fucked up even more this morning. She came into the guest bedroom and we cuddled. She initiated sex, and we did the deed.... but I legitimately could not finish. Problem is, because she's so big now, we can only do very limited positions, and she also wants to be very gentle as to not hurt the baby. These things combined, I just couldn't finish. She cried and left. I have no clue what to do.

I entered the bedroom but she's under the covers... She won't respond or get out of the covers. I felt awkward to stay there so just told her I'll be in the living room for a little bit before I go to the guest bedroom to sleep.

Bah... What was I supposed to say? Such a trap.

So I fucked up, I guess. My wife is 22 weeks pregnant and gained a lot of weight. She said she doesn't feel attractive anymore, and I said she looks more beautiful now than ever before. She said don't bullshit her and tell her the truth... So I agreed she got fat, but then said it's perfectly normal to get fat while pregnant.

She started crying and stormed off to the bedroom... Now I'm in the dining room just sitting here like an idiot.
