• Xenonauts (though you fail if you lose too many regions)
• Ghost Control (I don't believe it has a time limit)
• Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden (much more story driven, less flexibility than XCOM, people say it's pretty short)
• Phantom Doctrine (same genre, but much bigger emphasis on stealth and honestly that gets boring after a while if you're patient and not trying to do a speedrun... Gets to the point where you can straight up just knock everyone out on a map and do the objective easy peasy. Still, kinda cool setting, and there's a fairly fun investigation board mechanic where you get to map together crime networks or w/e to unlock the next part of the campaign)

I put night light mode on for the first time on Windows 10 yesterday, set it to 100, that's how my screen looked.

I hope as many people as possible are able to find rescue and escape that hellscape. Had to deal with it some times living on the West coast with the California wildfires and it could get nervewracking.

Legend has it there was a glitch and all of the difficulty modes were "Easy", and people complained and so for the sequel even "easy" was painful. I thought "Easy" was painful to begin with in classic though -_-.

By the way, one thing I wish I figured out early on - you can set up your Arrows to autocraft if you go through the Inventory menu and enable it. This is *so* useful for taking on certain bosses and stuff - as long as you have the wood in your inventory it'll just automatically repopulate your quiver.

Hundreds of servicemembers applied for conscientious objector status in 2002.

A person can always refuse to deploy, too. But depending on the nature of the deployment that can turn out to be a career killing move, obviously.

What you upgrade doesn't really matter that much, but I think it's more fun with builds. I played through the base game with combat/signs but then for the DLC I focused almost entirely on Alchemy.

Yeah, that's my point. It's not a moral dilemma because morally there is an obvious right choice and an obvious wrong choice. It is a personal dilemma because for the individual consequences to you, both options are unpleasant.

The individual consequences for doing the right thing (not executing the order) would be short-lived pending an investigation that would reveal you were in the right.

Nope, it was from the same PSU. But it was an 8-pin cable instead of a 6+2 or something like that.

The problem with this is that the US is constantly in some sort of conflict overseas. Your basically forcing you young adults to go and potential die.

the countries that have mandatory military service are training their young adults to potentially protect the nation, not go out and police the world.

Most people these days don't experience any sort of combat if they deploy in the first place.

There are a lot of options for monitoring software. I liked HWMonitor - it's free and easy to read, and it logs the minimum and maximum temperatures. So I'd just run that in the background, boot up a game (think it was BF4 back then) and play for a half hour or so and see what was going on.

@BeyondWalls That's why I included the bit about using the right power cable for the GPU >_>. I used one that *fit* my GPU just fine but it wasn't the right one, and I just kept getting a white screen constantly on the display.

Also just make sure you use some diagnostic tools to track temperatures after you have everything set up; it's good to make sure the CPU/GPU aren't reaching too high a heat.

They're different - they all have this reliance on the same type of beat-em-up control scheme that you'd find in the Mad Max game or the Batman: Arkham X games. You do get used to them though, despite the simpler combat mechanics.

It's really easy, just make sure you use the right power cables for your graphics card and don't put too much thermal paste on the CPU. Everything else is plug-and-play. The hardest part is ultimately cable management if you care about making everything look fancy (well, and improving airflow a little).

Heck Origins is actually what got me to pick up the AC series after I dropped it like a decade ago. It was all worth it to explore pyramids, travel the nile, just really soak up anciet egptian lore.

It's funny, I enjoyed the Egyptian setting more because Ancient Egypt always fascinated me more. Also, I *do* like the Greek figures and folklore they included but it doesn't seem to be as predominant as in Origins. Or maybe it's just kind of diluted because of all the other shit.

Damn now I want to boot it up and try to make some progress on it -__.

@sktgamer_13dude also you should play the Curse of the Pharaohs DLC, it has some really amazing imagery. The other DLC is pretty short and is basically just AC fan service, not as interesting imo.

Well that's the problem.

Bethesda games *do* fill a niche - there are not very many open world games with the amount of content that Bethesda games have. But when you actually look at what the vanilla games have to offer... it's really not much. The writing is bland, the questing is bland, exploration is bland now.

It's like Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. It's a satisfying game to play and screw around in and shoot things in and do the daily rebel quests in, but it's actually a really shitty, shallow game. It's just fun because there aren't many other games like it.

Kassandra is awesome, I love her character. The dialogue options are great actually, especially because quests never play out how you intend them to. It makes you question your actions a lot of times. In this respect the game is a bit better designed than Origins. If someone tells you to sneak into a building and steal something, but you wind up killing people and leaving bodies behind, then you might wind up fudging the quest up altogether - you'll still get the rewards, but you might find that the person who hired you gets killed later on, or stuff like that.

Not without more funding. Hell, the Navy seems to be having trouble funding some of its beneficial programs as it is. Meaning things like TA.

Well, they did revise how TA works now - they limited the "lifetime" funding you can get for TA, but I think that will mean they won't run out towards the end of the year like last time.

It was interesting to see how they expanded a lot of enlistment bonus options, though. Like... "Graduating from high school" bonuses (even though you need to graduate technically to get in in the first place), or "Passing your initial PT test assessment" bonus >_>.
