Refs and everyone following sports closely definitely know about everything.

Refs in the NBA are their own union and noone can do shit to them.
I'm not talking about betting, but in general.
Much like players, some refs are better and more talented than others, while some are just incompetent and their mistakes are a product of them not being good enough.
Unlike most other sports, the league has no power to remove those refs and we have to watch them make it all about themselves game in and game out.

They're not betting on games, but they definitely know shit and anyone thinking they don't is naive.

Betting becoming mainstream is new in the US and people are really naive to think noone would think to temper with stuff, especially stuff that's irrelevant to the sport like spread on points difference during regular season games noone cares about.

Eventually it evens out as teams benefit from refereeing sometimes.

See, this is why I've always been of the opinion that rather than offering universal free college what we should be doing is every few years surveying the country to determine what skill sets are lacking and then offer free tuition to anybody who completes a program in one of those areas, which would include things like trade schools and apprenticeships.

If somebody wants to get a degree in a field that is already saturated they are welcome to, but at that point it's a luxury not a necessity and they can pay out of pocket.

This way, we are actually investing in our populace in a way that isn't just lip service, but specifically in a way that will guarantee returns for society.

Well, it's not about college being free, it's about people's mentality.
Both college and apprenticeships are more or less free where I'm from.

Mentality that a lot of parents have is the issue. Up until 00s most people didn't even go to college and now they want their kids to not be left out.

As it usually goes, everyone thinks their kid is the smartest and it's beneat them for their child not to go to college, even if they don't have any talent for that field. Then they end up studying law for 8 years and being more or less useless.

People are nicer IRL, but I prefer internet version of most people because that's when everyone shows their real face.

Professors told this to me when i was in college. Things were much less fucked back then too. Those that came after me have only gotten worse results relative to the amount of money they've put into it. I'd only go to college now if I had a clear career path in mind that required it.

Where I'm from, there is alway an over-saturation in certain fields, even if we talk solid degrees.
Economics and law always have way too many students.
And then to make it even worse, they take easier economics classes and very few go for accounting.

Apprenticeships are way more needed nowdays.
Electricians make a ton of money without having to do any of the dirty work.

Honest question? More than a week at least. My friend that I took care of couldn't sleep because of 2 factors. In pain and took medication that wasn't what you call helping you get to sleep. I think she went 10 days once. Sometimes it wasn't even a issue. You could not give her sleeping meds because of the pain meds she was on

My record was around 50 hours and that was without any kind of caffeine or other supstances.
A few hours before I fell asleep every sound felt like I was underwater, couldn't hear anything clearly. And I started hearing things that weren't there. No visual hallucinations, tho.

A few months back I was awake for around 40h straight, including a 24h trip to get back home, which included 12h of airports+2 flights and 12h drive home.

It was around midnight on Friday when I got back home, I slept for like 12h, then slept for 12h again on Saturday and 10h on Sunday. I was completely broken, lmao.

Then a few weeks after that I was awake for 40h again, including a 16h drive home. Recovered from that one a bit easier because I didn't change time zones.

I look younger than I am, I'm physically healthier than most people my age, but mentally I'm in "get off my lawn" phase, everything is so fucking tiring.

Religion gave foundation for the basic of human culture, but it outlived it's purpose and offers very little positive things these days other than helping people feel better about death.

Other than the obvious, my mousepad.

I'll hand wash it every few weeks, can't stand the dust.

Okay here's one that really happened irl. We were working on a project. The leader said something like this before weekend, "Let's have a short video conference at 9.30 tomorrow to confirm the details." 'Short' usually meant 10-15 minutes so we didn't mind.

The following day we (except the leader) hold a conference at 9.30AM. The reason was simple, 9.30AM is a working hour and 9.30PM is a resting hour. Since the leader didn't show up, we cancelled the conference since we already knew the details anyway.

We found out much later that the leader showed up to an empty room at 9.30PM. That went real bad and later on we had an argument like this:
Team: 9.30AM because 9.30PM=sleep.
Leader: 9.30PM because it's weekend.

Well, he could've said evening and that would've been the end of it.

Calm down a bit, no need for trolling accusation. The point was the bolded part above is not automatically true for everyone, regardless of their brain and mental capacity.

If it is for you? Great, more power to you. But if other people don't catch on? The convo I quoted illustrates exactly that and 24 hrs clocks is a legit solution to that.
