Never had any interest for multiple reasons.

Biggest one would be digestive issues, coffee is the last thing I need.

I think I'd be a better parent than most people with kids, but I just don't want to do it.
For me, being a good parent more or less means throwing most of your life away for someone else. And I wouldn't be able to do that.

First three are essential.

The only reason to keep dogs would be service dogs for people in need.
Other than that, cats are more useful.
Vast majority of guard dogs aren't actually ever needed for the job, but semi-outdoor cats are really useful against snakes and every other small to mid-sized critter that can be an annoyance in your backyard.

I had many periods with spending every second of free time gaming, but it never impacted anything else. As in I never had bad grades because of gaming and I never missed work. I also never stayed at home to play when I could've gone outside to do something interesting.

But yeah, still way too many periods where steam account was showing over 100h played in last two weeks.

If you're going with new parts, most components have 2 year warranty.
For $1000 you can get a solid rig.

There are also a lot of well-off people who constantly upgrade their stuff and then sell their old components. Obviously you can always get unlucky and buy something that breaks, but if you're willing to go with used parts, you could either lower the price by like 20-30% or get a very good rig for the same money.

PSUs are usually good for a decade, if not more.
Still, if your current PC is bad, I doubt it's powerful enough for a new build.
You'd need 650W at least.

If you decide to go with a new PC, just ask for help on PC board. A lot of people follow the prices, reviews and benchmarks and will give you the best price/performance advice.

- as above pretty much all current AAA games will run on excellent settings at half that price

There's your bad PC+console or just a good PC argument. Add the lower cost of games and no subscription required to go online and it evens out.

+ you should spend more on a PC because it's not just for gaming, it does all your other stuff too.

If you get a trash desktop, it will surely be useless in 5 years. Most desktops that are trash now were good once upon a time.

You're right. I'd say that the best thing would be to partially upgrade every couple of years.
For example, I've been using the same case for 15 years now. And everything inside it has been changed at least 3 times.
GPU is more or less half the price of everything, so I upgrade GPU separately. Did it a couple of years ago, this year I'm buying everything else except case, GPU, SSDs, fans and peripherals.

It's all about what you value and need.
PC gaming is a hobby and of course that it's going to get expensive if you get into it, but compared to other technology, it's not that expensive.
A lot of people who constantly talk about how PC gaming is expensive change their phones on yearl basis. I'd never spend more than a couple hundred on a phone and then I use it until it literally falls apart. Some people spend a lot on home theatres and massive TVs with high-end surround sounds.
There are people who don't spend on technology, but have dozens of shoes.
Some people spend it on drugs.

It's all about your budget and preferences.
If you look at steam surverys, most players are on low end hardware, but are still playing and enjoying games.

If you ask me, AAA aspect of gaming has been garbage for the most part and it's only purpose is to attract casuals, with a few actually great games here and there. Meanwhile when you look past those AAA titles there are still a ton of games that aren't hardware demanding and are way more enjoyable.

Probably wouldn't with the US audience.

Football Manager is the only football (soccer, ugh) game worth playing. Steam player count says it all.
Other than flavor of the month games, it's always the most played singleplayer game.

They don't have a lot of licenses for leagues, clubs and even players, but they more or less bypass it with easy access for modders.

It's really easy to modify all the logos, uniforms, league and player names. Modding community with custom databases is also huge, you got historic databases, custom leagues and whatnot.

Depends on the car.

I'm 6'3 and I prefer not to sit in the back of a small car.

Don't really care about movie reviews.
It's just a couple of hours, it's not like I'll waste weeks on it.

But I'll always check IMDB before watching a TV show. OCD won't let me quit halfway through and I don't want to get into something that's a waste of time.

Slightly off-topic, but this is why I don't like researchers who are always so adamant about something not being possible.

It's not possible just because noone smart enough to figure it out has shown up yet.

We went from first ideas of flying to landing on the Moon in less than a 100 years, why is the idea of a technology that will be able to bend the space/time so out of question? Just because we havent figured it out yet.

We have seen more or less no gameplay innovations for like a decade now. It's just about graphics. Kind of sad. Gaming went from gameplay to cinematic experience.

And even the graphics are going the wrong way. Instead of making 120 framerates the standard, they're pushing higher resolution for marketing purposes.

Valve's business model is actually not scummy.

Nothing you buy adds gameplay value whatsoever and every weapon skin can be resold on the market. Shit's really expensive though if you want anything good. But I made solid profit over the years.

Every GTA since San Andreas is a perfect answer.

To me, GTA is your non-gamer's favorite game. Idk how can anyone who's played most must play titles be entertained by GTA, especially those people playing online for hundreds of hours.

Gameplay mechanics are still straight from 2004, nothing to show for. Bullet sponge enemies and the most basic gunplay. After the novelty of killing civilians and playing mini-games wears off, it gets really boring.

I didn't play RDR until last year and while I think that RDR is 9 or 10 in every aspect, the gunplay almost made me not finish it. It's so generic and uninspiring. And I guarantee you GTA VI will have the same garbage core mechanics.

What are you using your PC for? If it's just gaming, get 7800x3D from AMD, no need to waste money on Intel.

Measuring speed in km/h is pretty dumb.
60~70km/h may sound like youre going fast but youre barely even moving at that point

measuring distance in meters also makes no sense either visually. You can roughly measure feet by eyeballing it, and kilometers isnt applicable in that sense.

Get a life, 2/10 attempt.

I can understand Fahrenheit for temperature and pounds for weight.

But feets and inches for height is absolutely idiotic.

Metric is just so much more intuitive and goes well with kilograms.

Ideal weight is usually height in centimeters - 100 for men.
80kg for 180cm etc.
