Have you read The Disaster Artist? Greg Sestero wrote it about his experience working on The Room, as well as how he and Tommy Wiseau met and became friends. It was my favourite book I read last year. I haven't seen the film adaptation, but I understand the film is more from Tommy's perspective than the book.

When I marathoned the whole series myself (I had watched the first three before, but the marathon was the first time I'd watched 4-6), I was flagging by this point too. The line of dialogue early on that there are only 5000 people left alive on the planet stuck out to me, and I spent the rest of the film while watching it counting down from 5000 whenever someone died. 2 is my favourite as well.

I took a look at the list, and the cast list for The Scorned made me laugh, so I was tempted to nominate that, but as Christmas is coming, I'll get into the festive spirit and nominate Love Actually instead. I will soon give you the gift of being able to understand all those hot take "Well ackshually, Love Actually sucks" articles that get churned out annually! Kind of a rubbish gift really, considering that hot take is now so overdone that it's positively glacial.

For me, Snakes on a Plane is one of those films where it's fun in the moment, but the reality of it may not compare to your imagination when you hear the title.

I finally got around to watching Glas Onion, and I agree with what you said about it. I thought the film tried too hard to be topical and trendy with all the celebrity cameos and pop culture references that instantly date the film. I wonder if those were always meant to be part of the film or if Netflix insisted on them for marketing reasons.

I also figured out immediately that Duke died because he was allergic to pineapple.

Thank goodness Smell-o-Vision didn't catch on, because the Sludge Monster scene would have constituted cruel and unusual punishment if it had!

Joker was on my to-watch list, so I skipped reading its write-up at first. I've watched it now and come back to read the write-up. The film grabbed my attention even though it's not an easy watch. I felt quite uncomfortable at times too, though not quite as much as what it sounds like it affected you.

I think what really got me is that pretty much everyone goes out of their way to be as mean to Arthur as possible, in big ways like being physically assaulted or humiliated live on TV, or in small ways like that lady who yells at him on the bus while he's entertaining her son. Even Alfred is a jerk in this universe! Arthur is just one of those people the world hates and seems to take great enjoyment from making his life a misery at every opportunity. Even after all of that, Joker isn't totally irredeemable yet. He let Gary leave his apartment, even though he could have easily reported the crime he witnessed to the police.

I know Joker isn't part of the DCEU, but I did have a headcanon that Joaquin Phoenix Joker had kidnapped Robin and tortured him to insanity, which drove Batman to kill JPJ. Meanwhile, Robin grew up to become Jared Leto Joker. Batman kept Robin's suit in the Batcave to remind himself of what he had lost in his crusade against crime, and of the life he had taken, something he must never repeat.

Part of me wonders if The Spirits Within would have done better at the box office if it featured established characters from the games instead of taking the game approach of introducing a new cast and world with each new game. Would Advent Children, as a sequel to Final Fantasy VII, the most well-known and iconic instalment of the series, have done better in place of The Spirits Within?

Marvin the Martian and a Game of Thrones stage will be coming this season, but there's no date for them yet. I hope Marvin says "I claim this victory in the name of Mars. Isn't that lovely?" or "Being ringed out makes me very angry! Very angry indeed!"

It's such a relief to hear this one holds up! I was 14 when it came out, just the right age to think it was the coolest thing ever. I've been meaning to watch it again, but I've been scared to, for fear that if I did, the magic would be gone. Sounds like I have nothing to worry about in that regard!

Another reason I remember this film fondly is that I started using Youtube around this time, and there were all sorts of spoofs, mashups and remixes on there. I still quote this one to this day.

I'm glad you liked it too! This is another film I watched for the first time recently, and it's one that stuck with me long after the closing credits rolled. It is a long film, but to me it didn't feel long when I was watching it, because I was engrossed throughout. For me, the earlier executions and rehearsals helped demonstrate how Paul and the other guards were able to desensitise to an extent by making the process into an almost mundane routine, before their interactions with John Coffey make it increasingly difficult to do this job. Of course, we also get to see why the rehearsals are so important, because things get really ugly really fast when they aren't spot on.

Since it's October, the spooky scary month of Halloween, I'll use a nomination on Resident Evil.

I've had it a few times, either a player stands there doing nothing the entire match, or they will just be jumping around a bit and making little to no attempt to attack the opposing team. I did it once because I was called away just after a match started, and I felt really bad for making my partner play with a handicap.

I had my favourite KO the other day. I was playing Tom and Jerry while fighting a Rick who was falling off the bottom left side of the stage, but was able to recover with his jetpack. He then used his skis to move back onto the stage. I used my air up special to kick a rocket upwards. The rocket hit Rick as he was passing over me on his skis, and he was sent flying all the way to the other side of the stage. He fell down the bottom right, and because he had already used his recoveries and hadn't yet landed to refresh them, there was nothing he could do about it. For the cherry on top, this was the round winning KO for my team, and I got the 100 spike KOs achievement at the same time, despite having not hit him with a spike. Maybe falling off the bottom meant it counted as one?

I'm having fun with Arya even though I'm not particularly good with her yet. Throwing her dagger about then dashing to it feels so good!

I was a little disappointed in Shaun of the Dead when I watched it for the first time recently too. It's one of the iconic British films and I set my expectations too high because of that. It did have its moments though. The biggest laugh for me was during the zombie acting scene when Ed's phone rings and he answers it. I recall hearing somewhere that the film transitioning from a zombie spoof to a proper zombie film as it went on was intentional as well.

I didn't use my double when I made my nominations, so I will use it now on House of Mouse.

I watched Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs for the first time recently. The dialogue-heavy nature of the film, and the fact that most of the film takes place in a single location, made me think that it could work quite well as a stage drama. I liked the anthology style Pulp Fiction had as well. These two certainly lived up to the hype for me!

I watched Morbius the other day too. If Sony ever take leave of their senses long enough to greenlight a sequel, they could easily bring in Vic Savage by saying he was the leader of the mercenaries that got morbed when Morbius turned into a vampire for the first time, and being bitten turned him into a vampire too.

There probably won't be a proper Morbius 2 though, instead we'll get Morbius and Vulture Do the Morbiverse of Madness, where the two of them recruit other villains to join their team. The other members will be Venom, Kraven, El Muerte and Chameleon. However, Vulture will be a bait and switch and shortly after assembling the team, he will either die from being in an alternate universe for too long, or Wong will magic in to take him back to the MCU. Black Cat will then replace him as the new sixth member, also giving the team at least one female member.

He was in the old games, but not in the more modern ones.

In addition to his time magic, The Forgotten Sands also gives the Prince elemental magic, which includes a gust of wind that will be useful for knocking DK back and giving Prince breathing room, ice magic to give Prince a ranged attack option if there are no secondary weapons around for him to pick up and throw, and stone armour which stops all damage, so Prince can use that to block a few hits from DK as well.

Those Space Jam and Hobbiton songs are so good. Shame Lord of the Rings content has been cut from the game, but at least we can hear this.

Speaking of datamines, BMO and Lady Rainicorn have been datamined as announcers, making them the first announcers who aren't playable characters. If non-playable announcers are now on the table, I'm hoping for Foghorn Leghorn, the Brainy Gremlin from Gremlins 2 and the Mortal Kombat announcer, when or if Mortal Kombat content gets added. Toasty would also be a perfect ring-out animation.

I've seen the first season of Sword Art Online as well. My brother imported the season 1 DVD from Japan when the series was starting to blow up in popularity in the West, but before the dub started. That's another series I will have to go back to at some point.

It's also worth noting that buying single-player games physical gives you the option of selling them once you've finished the game, whereas people may be more willing to buy multi-player games digital because they expect to keep going back to those games.
