I had my favourite KO the other day. I was playing Tom and Jerry while fighting a Rick who was falling off the bottom left side of the stage, but was able to recover with his jetpack. He then used his skis to move back onto the stage. I used my air up special to kick a rocket upwards. The rocket hit Rick as he was passing over me on his skis, and he was sent flying all the way to the other side of the stage. He fell down the bottom right, and because he had already used his recoveries and hadn't yet landed to refresh them, there was nothing he could do about it. For the cherry on top, this was the round winning KO for my team, and I got the 100 spike KOs achievement at the same time, despite having not hit him with a spike. Maybe falling off the bottom meant it counted as one?

I think that's just a running joke they have with new characters. They said Morty was the first plumbus wielding character IIRC.

Also I only played Stripe for about 15 minutes in bot matches but he seems pretty good. His moves have a lot of knockbox for some reason and his gun seems like a free kill off the top.

Okay after playing for about 3 hours I'm officially done until the next character drops I guess. This game really needs to stop adding fast characters with crazy projectiles.

You know, like the last 4 characters that have been released.

Day 1 Stripes beating my 100 hour Superman with 350 damage to 100 is leaving a pretty sour taste in my mouth for this game.

Haven't played for a while, but logged in today, and 3 of the 4 games I played had an inactive player

Is that the state of the game now or just really bad luck?

Sounds like very bad luck. Don't think I've ever had someone like that.

I've had it a few times, either a player stands there doing nothing the entire match, or they will just be jumping around a bit and making little to no attempt to attack the opposing team. I did it once because I was called away just after a match started, and I felt really bad for making my partner play with a handicap.

I've been having more fun after switching from Superman to Shaggy but Stripe still needs to be deleted out of this game. His moves have so much priority it's crazy

I played this game for the first time yesterday. It was pretty good, but it isn't something that I can see myself playing longterm, so I uninstalled it but kept it pinned to my Xbox dashboard if I feel the desire to play it again. I had access to Shaggy, Iron Giant, Wonder Woman, Tom & Jerry, and Velma. I later unlocked Harley Quinn with coins.

Shaggy > Harley > Giant > Tom > Wonder > Velma in terms of how much fun I had with them.

This game was released on July 19th and there are STILL people online who just spam Shaggy's side B.

AND THEY WON THE DUO MATCH. It was unstoppable with his partner covering everything.

Arcade mode is no joke. Beaten hard mode with Gizmo and Reindog so far. Keep getting to the end with Shaggy and losing though.

Finished hard mode with everyone. Fun stuff.

I played arcade once on normal with Black Adam and I appreciate the final boss.

Do they have specifically planned out final bosses? I thought it just randomly paired you against characters of the same type

Oh, I just assumed it was the final boss because it was Reindog for me.

I've only done hard mode but every character has a nemesis they face in round 7 with crazy buffed damage/knockback (Gizmo faces Stripe and vice versa for example) and on round 8 you face "Reign Dog" which is a Reindog that becomes giant at 25% and can basically one shot half the cast.

oh I haven't done hard mode yet that might contribute to it

Ranked Mode Alpha tomorrow at noon for a week. Neat.

MMR is for normal mode matchmaking.

Those occurances were pretty common for normal matches too, it's basically the major reason I stopped playing. I thought ranked might actually pair you against your own skill level but it seems like the only change is forcing a rematch.

I attempted ranked 2s last weekend with my teammate, but the queue times were so long I just gave up

I want to play ranked, but the unranked queue is almost instantaneous

Hopefully it's just because players hadn't figured out ranked was available yet

Marvin the Martian and a Game of Thrones stage will be coming this season, but there's no date for them yet. I hope Marvin says "I claim this victory in the name of Mars. Isn't that lovely?" or "Being ringed out makes me very angry! Very angry indeed!"

weird choice to follow up the best possible Bugs skin with another Bugs skin. why would I care about that when I can already plays as viking lady Bugs?

I'm guessing they saw Ninja Batman as the only other skin that was worthy of being a level 50 reward but they'd rather charge $20 for it instead.

During the beta the Ninja Batman was a battle pass reward I believe.

I think this is a known bug (on ps4?). Saw something on Twitter about how they think they know the issue and will fix it in the next patch.

marvins moveset completely leaked. almost entirely projectile based. wicked witch remains in the files so she might be coming this season. new strings found for scooby doo and the goonies. new map data for the wb tower, the throne game map, and a new aku's mountain map meaning samurai jack may also be this season

Lol yeah I'm FAIRLY certain their normal mode matchmaking just pairs you with anyone and ranked mode pulls from someone around your rank.

The problem is ranked mode is still down. Terrible.

Yeah and I only switched to 1v1 because duos put me and another 1500 guy against two 3000 guys who only played games with each other.

Like yeah me and some random dude are never going to beat a coordinated pair of 3000 MMR guys.

I hope there's no doubt from the devs why this game is bleeding players. I've gotten enough out of the game to justify my purchase but every time I play lately I feel like I should just uninstall when I leave the game.

There's no room to casually hop in a play a few games against people of my skill level. It's stomp or be stomped

Have you tried silly queue or Free for all? I've heard those are a lot more casual and fun.

Those modes don't really interest me at all. I just want to actually play the game against people at my skill level and not EVO winners.

I've no lifed other fighting games before and been at a high level but I don't have the time or motivation anymore to do that with this game.

Ah. Probably best to wait for ranked then.

My MMR is 1500

I just got paired against an Arya with 7600 MMR, 6th Arya in MMR but his Twitch says he's number 1.

He comboed me from basically 0 to 150, no amount of DI was getting me out of that combo, no idea what to even do against that.

Why is the matchmaking so bad in this game.

It was a tough decision but I uninstalled to stop myself from playing for now. 2v2 games are against coordinated duos with 1000 more MMR than you while you get paired with 600 Iron Giant players.

So you move to 1v1 and get paired against people with 6000 more MMR than you.

Maybe if they fix the matchmaking I'll come back one day but this game is a mess right now unless you try to find a duo partner which I don't like doing.

Yeah this game desperately needs a real ranked mode. I feel terrible getting paired with people at like rank 12 million as someone in top 100 it's just stupid.
