For me, having a specific goal in mind helped.

I wanted to enlist in the Navy, but I was way too fat. I had to pose 50lbs. It took almost a year, but I did it. Reduced my calorie intake, went to the gym 3 - 5 times a week.

I had to make a significant change to the kinds of food I ate. For an idea, my standard dinner became baked chicken breast with some vegetables. Usually carrots and green beans.

Sure, but her mimeosome, which is what represents the character for 99% of the game and cameo appearances is a brown woman.

I'm just saying, I think that counts.

Nah, I think some of those people just want a black character to fill some type of diversity quota. I would love for a black character to get into Smash Bros. but theres not really any great choices. This is more of an industry problem than a Smash Bros. problem. Smash doesnt create its own characters so they cant really put in some random black character. The fact that some people in that ResetEra thread suggested characters like Doc Louis or Cherry Hunter feels a little insulting to people like me because it seems like some of these people want diversity points. Some of the other suggestions, like Elma, arent even PoC.

Thankfully, several black users in that same thread voiced their opinion on what they think about the lack of representation and how it doesnt offend them. Its tiring to see people, who typically arent black themselves, be offended for individuals such as myself.

I think several women users in that ResetEra thread pointed out how theres nothing really wrong with a character having big breasts and they were attacked by the men user base. I think one user said she felt suicidal for a time due to how the male user base on ResetEra treated characters with large breasts because she has large breasts in real life and it made her feel insecure and hate herself.

Overall, its a horrible site. I only browse it for gaming news and leaks since thats all its good for if you ask me.

Not to nit-pick, but isn't Elma a PoC? In the sense that her usual depiction is a sort of ambiguous brown. She's not black, obviously, but she looks like a sort of darker skinned Asian woman.

Unless you mean her other appearance, which is much paler.

No, it was because Tyler Malka, the owner of Neogaf got #MeToo'd. A woman claimed that when they went to New Orleans together, in their hotel room, he tried to fuck her in the shower after an evening of heavy drinking.

Resetera was accused of having some pedos and pedo-apologists when a user leaked some screenshots of a discord some of the site's staff use.

If you have a college degree, you're already in a position to make more than people without. Forgiving your student loan debt is just giving more to people who already have an advantage.

You're already one of the "haves". Do more for the "have nots" by making that additional education more affordable in the first place. I'd rather see the state colleges be free to attend, with similarly state sponsored trade schools for people who are more inclined for that.

Players will want to know about latency issues, multiplayer modes, if the DLC is pay to win, whether or not the guns will look and sound authentic, and if the game mechanics are balanced. Thats pretty much the short list.

I mean, it wasn't long ago that people were griping about a WW2 game staring a female soldier with a prosthetic arm because it was historically inaccurate.

No, a landlord's business is owning housing that someone else built. They expect payment from tenants for the risky task of making an investment.

Every business requires risky investment. I don't know why you mention that as if it were unique here.

It also doesn't matter that the landlord didnt build the home with their own hands. They paid for it. Either to have it built or to buy the property afterward. Then they rent it out to people who lack the ability to buy their own homes outright or who don't want the additional costs and responsibilities that come with actually owning the property. Since landlords are, generally, more responsible for the maintenance of the property.

Do you think someone too poor to buy their own property and save money will be able to afford to spend hundreds of dollars when their hot water heater, or thousands or dollars, when their central air conditioning unit breaks down? Their water well pump? And so on.

Generally, one of the benefits of renting is the tenant can call the landlord to have those maintenance issues take care of, without bearing the sudden financial burden themselves.

Sure, you might pivot to say "the landlord isn't doing the repair, the electrician, HVAC tech, or whatever does". Okay, so what? The landlord is the one bearing that cost. If you were buying instead of renting, you'd be on the hook for that on top of paying for your housing.

The issue is really centered around the reality that renters are paying down the debts of others who were fortunate enough to get something out of their debt.

If I pay off the loan of somebodies house, that house should at least be partially mine, but people go through the mental gymnastics to pretend rent money isnt mortgage money because it changes hands first.

Its literally like the bullshit my ex tried to pull with me. My third of the rent was 1/3 and that was what was agreed on.

Then her and her mother go and get a brand new car (not even used, literally brand new), and then all of a sudden I have to fork over an extra $400/mo in "rent" money? They tried so hard to gaslight me but I wasnt stupid. They had a $600 car payment they didnt have before and now I suddenly have to pay almost a grand in rent when I know the landlord didnt jack up the rent?

Fucking please.

No, just no.

A landlord may be using the rent you pay them to pay off the loan they used to purchase the house they are renting you.

That is no different that any business using the money people pay them for goods and services to pay for the loans they used to start their businesses. A landlord's business is providing housing, and if they are doing their job well they will maintain that housing for the tenant.

You aren't entitled to partial ownership in someone's business just because you are a patron. You don't get to partially own the farm that grows your food, just because your dollars paid to that farmer help him pay for the debt he took out to fund his operation.
