The language here is just as extreme as the type of language we condemn white supremacists for. It's a terrible look, excessively aggressive.

There's a way to make points addressing racial inequality and injustice without resorting to weird ass inflammatory language like this. Just really rubs me the wrong way.

The word "traitor" is a pretty loaded word. It doesn't look any better here than when any race activist tosses the word "race traitor" around.

I hate this so much. It's so easy to take something with such good intentions and turn it in to a shit fest by doing stuff like this, especially with something as ambiguous as "whiteness" as though blanket-terming the privilege isn't exactly how society ended up in the fucking state it's in right now. People in general are fucked up and always looking for the next thing to hate, and the only real way to fix it--to the best of our abilities any way--is to fix our general god awful education system from the ground up. I think this is a general example of why it needs to happen.

White privilege is a very real issue. Until 57 years ago literally every white person was legally elevated above every person of color, and there is still rampant discrimination that persists today. Those attitudes and framing of the racial hierarchy that dominated this country for centuries still linger.

White privilege is 100% a thing and more could do with being aware of just how much they (often unknowingly) benefit from it. Of course many white people still suffer from the wests classist systems designed to oppress the poor and the benefits they get are often not really worth everything else they suffer from. But many others could do with being aware that they at least don't have to fear they might die when they pass the police, or will be automatically assumed the villain.

I'm still confused by what "white traitor" and "white abolitionist" are meant to represent and how won't just turn off a large number of otherwise sympathetic people, but the general message of understanding the privilege some of us have from "the system" can and will help in combating the inherent racism in these systems and pushing for change.
