I checked that too funnily enough cause I did switch it to off "after" my turn was over, but I definitely had it on auto at the time I tried to play evenly matched.

Which brings another questino, what even is the difference between auto and on?

I had 0 cards on the field, my opponent went through is plays on his first turn so I just went stright from main 1, to battle, to main 2 to try and get rid of them (cause I know about having to have no cards on the field to use from teh hand) and the prompt just never came up.

Okay, another "Why couldn't I do this" question. I had evenly matched in my hand and I went 2nd, so I had a battle phase. I thought I could just enter/exit the battle phase on my turn to be able to proc evenly matched from my hand and get rid of almost all my opponent's cards, but it would not let me. Any ideas why? There was nothing on the field preventing trap activation or anything.

So a video I happened across today was explaining some datamines that were found in the game, mainly different modes which would restrict the types of cards you could use called "cups." So liek a fusion cup would be only fusion monsters, synchro cups only synchros etc. There was also a "Beginner's classic" mode which touted vintage cards. Also some sort of pauper format. And an in-game tournament builder. If all this comes to pass I think it would go a long way towards helping keep the more casual people like most of us here I think.

So, am I the only one who's noticed that since this came out there's been sort of an outburst of memes making fun of how yugioh is? It almost seems like this game has "exposed" to the public how absurd the game is right now, I see all sorts of memes and vids of "Going from duel links to MD be like" and such. I just think it's funny.

Maybe? Rituals aren't extra deck monsters though. Maybe I've just been in a cave the whole time.

Is that exclusive to synchros or is that any non-fusion extra deck monster?

This was in dragonmaids. And yeah I had a card to discard. I wish I had saved the replay but I was just so disgusted (even though I was unlikely to win anyway)

I also learned that apparently you can't special summon synchros from the graveyard unless they were properly summoned first, or something? My opp brought out a crystal wing synchro dragon not by synchro summoning, and I tried to monster reborn it later and it wouldn't let me, and I spied a little icon that said "Wasn't properly SS'd"

So is there something about super poly I don't understand? I had a situation last night where I put in a couple of extra deck guys to fuse away troublesome opponents monsters with (like starving venom), and I had a situationw here I ended up with 2 battle faders on the field. Super Poly would not let me fuse them away into SV (whose materials are just 2 dark monsters except tokens; faders are dark). There were no effects on the field that I could tell that prevented special summoning.

So do those bans go to master duel as well? Or are they just tcg bans? Or is master duel basically tcg but online, rather than an official ocg?

Reg linked it but duellogs is a youtube channel that does top 10 lists on yugioh cards on whatever category strikes his fancy at the time. It's great for learning about the history of the game.

Also RE Ash blossom I would also be interested in this answer, the only thing I can think of would be possibly missing the timing or something? I don't have enough indepth knowledge of the game mechanics, I just kinda go "oh okay I cant use this card here for some reason" and shrug my shoulders

The duellogs video today is hilarious. It's about weirdest card text pre-errata, it's so weird to harken back to the oldest days. Mask of Restrict got me good lol

I used the rest of my CP getting buster blader stuff and starry knight stuff, neither of which is sure to be a real gamebreaker. Is chain strike in here? Maybe you could do chain burn, that feels gimmicky but also viable

Same thing just happened to me. 5 game win streak from gold 4 to gold 3, boosted me up to plat 5.

That was my goal for the season so I can chill now.

Yeah it's too bad tehre isn't like a casual ladder yet, maybe that will come soon

I guess it just seems weird that you wouldn't have "your" designated slot but rather you can pick, but I guess it's cause of arrow shenanigans that they made it that way

So, question about links, there's the 2 extra monster zones where they have to be summoned, and I seem to be able to use either or but not both. Is there a reason for that or?

I wish you could see how much time the opponent had left, and also that it didn't add so much back between turns if you're running low. Just had to forfeit a match against an aleister/shaddoll deck because it went on for literal 45 minutes with him slow playing between all his moves and I had to go pick up something.

What field spell was that? Necrovalley?

I actually had a lot harder time on the subsequent one because the AI knows how to use gem knights and I do not lol

Does anyone have advice on the 2nd real duel in the Gemknight solo story? It's the one where you have a bunch of terrible laval cards mixed in. I've tried 5 or 6 times and gotten stomped every time. The deck they supply you with seems just terrible.

I'm not sure if I just got a good hand cause I've never played with laval but I got it on the first try. Best I can tell, try to get gem knight citrine out to keep their set cards on lockdown. You can do it even with just one gem knight since the other req is just a pyro card, and there's some cards that let you search out a gem knight to do it with. But it seems like the laval's are pretty clearly split into "GY fodder" and "You can actually put these on the field and not get assblasted" so just focus on getting stuff like the cannon out and utilizing the other effects of the GY based lavals.

I'm sure this is all extremely helpful.

I'll add everyone in here when I get a chance to play again and can figure out what my own code is.

I'm currently having an issue with the free gem cap being 10000. I've got that, plus another couple thousand waiting in the gift box that expire in a month because I don't want to just spend them on nonsense. I have a feeling that the gems are going to be very generous at the start, but then dry out pretty quickly.

This is generally how games like this are. Duel links was the same, mobile games in general are that way too. Once you get through all the initial content it becomes a grind.

Someone told me that if you play on PS and have PS+ you get 50 free packs so that is probably where to play if you have it, but yeah I'm on steam.

I must be very lucky cause i haven't run into a single meta deck yet in like 10 matches, and only one of those even had good cards like twin twisters, etc.

So did anyone else do the duel pass? Seems cheap enough for just 600 gems. I want that pot of greed, even though I have no idea what it does

Is there a way to tell what sheen your cards are? I think I got a good royal finish ur but I'm not positive cause I don't know if that's what royal is or not

Also my friend code is 724-506-471. Figure everyone adding everyone would be the best way to get some games in. Looks like you can make a room with several tables, so a bunch of us could get in a room and then do swapsies

Yeah I haven't dived into matchmaking yet but it already sounds like it could use some tweaking, with people using starter decks and running into epic tryhard decks immediately. MTGA is pretty good about matching up starter decks with starter decks so I think this could benefit from something like that as well.

So I see the gimmick now, that a secret pack is only up for 24 hrs after you unlock it. But I got a lot of dragon cards after opening a dragon SR in the opening bundle so I see how it's a lot better about just, giving you the cards you want

Are you able to view the pack contents ahead of time so you knwo what UR to shoot for to get that secret pack?

Is it like duel links where you only have so many per card in a pack, thus guaranteeing you will get everythign with enough gems?

Yes. There is no "per turn" limit on special summons so the meta has evolved to be setting up to special summon a bunch via searching out all the right cards.

the way I always think about synchro/xyz/links are just, they're fusion monsters without needing a polymerization card. It's basically the same thing, you need 2+ (most of the time) monsters with specific prereqs that let you go into another monster. Links with the arrows though are a bit more involved though yeah, I didn't play in that era so I don't quite understand the deal there. I "think" it's that you have to summon a link monster in a special zone and you can't further special summon unless it's to a zone that your link monster points to?

I doubt I will get too far into it because I am very much someone who dislikes most of the stuff starting with synchros, but I might as well give it a shot and see if I can build any meme decks and such

The pistons reportedly offered the sixers: Grant, Bey, Olynyk, and a 1st for simmons, and philly turned their nose up at it. Thoughts? I feel like that's a pretty good package.
