Is there any hope of like a SnT to get something for ayton?

To be fair, it's not sarver's fault they didn't get it done past 2 years. Sometimes what you have just ain't enough. But like they do have CP3 for another couple years, booker should hang around, suns aren't out of it just yet even if CP declines some.

Ayton imo is not worth a max, but the suns are also in a bit of a tough spot where you don't just...let a guy like that go for nothing. If you have to overpay him, you overpay him.

IIRC tobias didn't actually become a league champion, he won a conference in the sinnoh league where cynthia reigns. It's possible he just chose not to pursue that much competitive battling or something. But he'd probably be way too OP for this.

Buggy iirc was already a warlord. So probably a combo of all that just leads them to see buggy as a huge threat with all these connections regardless of if he has them.

Since this is a general Star Wars topic, I have a question to ask which I have no idea if it will come across as a joke: do laser weapons have ammo in the Star Wars universe? That would explain why that officer in the first movie didn't fire on the escape pod that 3PO and R2 got in, although I suppose that could have also come down to that officer being inexperienced and at least the Empire followed the pod to Tattooine (I guess this might also beg the question why Darth Vader didn't think to look for Luke there beyond the obvious answer that that family relation hadn't been written in yet, although maybe Vader had no sway in choosing where to look yet? Or didn't know he had a son?).

As someone who has played republic commando, afaik yes. It's more of a battery pack than a cartridge containing physical rounds though, but it's still not necessarily an unlimited thing. Like in that game, the standard blaster that troopers use have to be reloaded.

I know that's not a canon game but it would make sense to me. Even lightsabers have batteries iirc that have to be replaced every so often.

Summon minions, but specifically the kind where it's perpetual instead of at certain phases/starting out with them but gone for good once killed.

So I guess my question is then, do you actually think that steph is actually susceptible enough to late game pressure that it physically affects his ability to play basketball? Because to me, when someone talks about clutch, they're talking about wilting under pressure, they're saying that the person in question is not mentally strong enough to handle those moments, instead of like...dude just missed a shot, making shots is hard. Esp against like the best defense in the league.

If that's what we're saying, I just can't agree with that. I don't think you get to the level that steph is at without being able to shrug off basically anything, and imo there are way too many factors beyond any single individual's ability to play basketball that go into whether or not they can perform. Namely defensive adjustments.

"Big moments" I've never liked that. The 1st quarter matters just as much as the last one imo. Overall he went for 34 pts on almost 50% shooting. If he puts up that statline every game but people go "oh he sucks" because he only shot the ball 6 times in one quarter of each game, then people are stupid.

If we're actually being serious about this and not just being celtics fans, 8-11 tbh is still impressive because some of those games were against lebron, and they still got a title without durant out of it anyway. It's not the same as going ofer or something like that. 8 games is a lot of finals games.

Maybe I missed something and I need to rewatch it, but on the replay I didn't see any indication of his moving his stick trying to get/play the free puck; it just looked like intentional barreling to me. But maybe it's just a coincidence that one of the top 3 dirty players in the league did a dirty thing.

Hopefully Binnington's back for Game 4, but even then if he comes back he needs to be in his same 110% effective form he'd been showing of late which isn't a guarantee. What a crappy development.

I am sure I see him moving his stick in such a manner, watching a replay of it. I don't think it was on purpose. This isn't the best quality but you can see him jutting his stick out trying to get to it, then he runs into the other dude and they both slam into binnington.

I am with changmas that taking the others out of the equation is the way to beat dallas. Just put someone on luka who will make him work, that's all you need, even if he gets his.

We saw it in the first few games, if you tire him out by making him work on offense he becomes a sieve on defense. Then you can get all those points back.

whatever criteria you want but I'm pretty certain most people just go on the stats that are presented. It's up to you how to value them.

For example, some people might value 2 INTs and 3 FF for a LB differently than 3 INTs and 2 FF. Some positions like OLine it's pretty cut and dry but for defense, it's all what you value most. If you think a dude making 50 more tackles compared to someone who got 2 more INTs and FFs than them is more valuable, then go for it

The jeudy stuff came out, it's not that bad tbh. Basically he alleges the mother of his child took one of his phones, so he took some of her stuff and hid it in his car, after which she called police. No violence or anything like that. He was even released already because the judge found no reason to believe there would be any physical contact.

He's perhaps earned the right but 99% of the time you're much better off not saying anything or uplifting your teammates rather than throwing them under the bus. He has professional relationships with these teammates and disparaging them in front of the media year after year will surely not improve chemistry or their play.

If you want a comparison look no further than Giannis. He's been let down by teammates in games and playoff series before but I have never once heard him deflect blame onto his teammates. They have his back and he has theirs, and Milwaukee is a stronger team for it.

I am curious about something if I may ask: do you blame embiid for simmons wanting to leave? Like do you consider the whole saga embiid's fault?

Doc definitely seems to have a chip on his shoulder. He had that whole bit a little while back about how he went down the list and explained away every one of his playoff exits

I think russ is washed because I don't think russ can do anything very well anymore. He's a net minus because he's too inefficient imo. I don't think harden is a minus, harden can at least shoot the ball with some accuracy. Like I said, if you believe washed = not as good as once was, that's perfectly fine. I'm not here to debate the definition of washed. But I don't thinkt he gap between harden and westbrook is as small as some others think.

I do however highly disagree with the seeming clap against embiid. What else is he supposed to do? He's playing with a thumb that needs surgery and a broken face. Sometimes it's not deflecting, it's rightfully assigning. If you want to say he shouldn't do it in public then fine, but embiid has been the one constant presence in the court. And I don't even like embiid because of how he carried himself earlier in his career but if anyone has been the good soldier all this time, it's him. He's earned the right to criticize his teammates imo.

This is gonna come down to your definition fo washed. I don't think harden is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. I also do not think he's washed. Simple as that for me. If changmas views washed as not as good as he once was, then changmas can take the W there, because I agree on that front.

P sure it was me, iirc. And I maintain the stance that at that time, when I was making the argument, that he was not completely washed. If you want to equate now to then then go for it, but that's not the argument I was making to you. He played like he was washed these past couple games.

Even after this playoff series, I don't think he actually is washed though, unless his desire isnt there. If he isn't willing to put in the conditioning effort to get himself right (which is imo the main problem) then sure, I'll give that to you. But I think the same thing is happening to him as was to simmons. He had a really bad couple of games and suddenly he's a useless player. He still shot a respectable 36% from 3 in the playoffs, avg almost 9 APG, scored over 19 a game...that's still a useful player. Harden-level, no, but washed? I'm just still not buying it.

After next year, they will only have 98M in actual salary on the books. If they sign a bunch of 1 yr deals to fill out the roster next season, and renounce harden and the rests cap holds after, that would be more than enough cap space to go after someone substantial. Maybe not a max guy but someone who can contribute a lot, and that's not even factoring what if they manage to parley harris's expiring contract into some disgruntled star.

I guess I am assuming though that he opts in to next year. If he opts out and demands the contract now then I guess they are kinda screwed.

If philly fails again next year, then embiid will want out anyway imo. He already shaded harden in last night's postgame presser, if anything embiid would be more likely to say "no let him go" and free up cap space to try and get another star in there than he would be like "Yeah let's pay 50m/yr to an obviously aging guy"

Especially since in 23-24, tobias will be an expiring deal so you might be able to flip him for someone, while harden expires and you can just renounce him if he wants too much. They have a lot of flexibility after next year salary-wise.

There is no way philly is giving him that contract. He still hasn't opted in to his PO for next year which you know he's going to after this season. His days as a max player are done imo.
