Honestly the thing I didn't like the most was when LeBron was asked later if he considered how his views would affect those in Hong Kong he said "no, I considered how they would affect me." To me, that totally works against what he is preaching with the whole "free speech can have negative consequences, it can affect so many other people negatively." What he did was no different than morey, he spoke on something personal to him, he just has a different opinion than morey. I guess in his mind it's important to him so that makes it ok for him to do. But at least morey is on the right side of the hk thing, unlike LeBron.

Another pretty brutal week, about half of the contestants got 7 or fewer wins. Congrats though to: @KommunistKoala , @MysteriousStan , @crazyisgood , @5tarscream , and @thekitchensink for leading the way with 10 wins! Upset of the week, only 1 person picked the New York Jets...@MZero11 !

Coincidentally, since forgetting most of his picks week 1 and only tallying a 3, Mzero has been near the top the past 5 weeks in terms of total wins in that span, so keep it up dude! Lowkey rooting for you!

Okay, so here's the deal. This will be lengthy but I just want to be fully transparent on this, and I get paranoid that someone might think me dishonest so I just want to get it all out there. There were 3 people who picked the carolina/tampa game after 930 am est. Each of those 3 people picked carolina. 2 of them were within 10 minutes, 1 was a couple hours into the game.

I realize that in my opening post, I did not specify that the london game was played early and in fact listed the game under the 1 PM column. That is my fault. I also realize that even though I later clarified that the game was at 9:30 am, that most users would have no reason to come back to the topic for any reason other than changing picks, so I don't think it is fair of me to go "Well I did clarify later on" when odds are most people didn't even see it.

My hangup lies in the pick that was made hours after the game started, which essentially means I have no way of knowing if said user saw the game progress or not when they made the pick (I am making no accusation by saying this, merely stating a fact that I cannot know what happened.) So my choices are thus:
1) Allow all 3 carolina picks as it was my own fault that I did not be clear with the correct time in the opening post
2) Allow the 2 picks that were made close to the game start and disallow the one that was made much later, when the outcome was not very much in doubt
3) Disallow all the late picks because they are late

To me, 3 is not an option as it was ultimately my own fault for not being clear on the correct game start time, and it's just as likely that the super-late picker woke up and was like "okay time to pick all the 1 PM games." 2 does not feel very fair to allow 2 picks and disallow 1 pick, because regardless of the timeframe they were picked in, all 3 picks are still "late" so I feel like equal treatment should be given on all picks. Therefore, for this week only, I have decided to grant the correct pick to the users who picked late because ultimately I feel it is better to err on the side of caution when considering how much my slip up may have caused errors. If anyone has any reason why they think they shouldn't be allowed, please PM me as I don't want anyone who may feel strongly to say something, and then one of the pickers take offense or anything. Hopefully though, this will just be as simple as they get a win, and everyone goes about their day.

I'll have to go back and see if I did in fact do this, it's quite possible I forgot about the london early start time when I did so, which if that's the case...I guess for this I should do the same, especially when I wasn't clear in the opening post. So, I just want to make sure since you said you were new to edh, maybe your brother is too, are you guys aware of the rule where you have to pay 2 mana extra each time your commander is summoned from the command zone? And it's cumulative, you pay x, then +2, then +4, then +6, etc. Just wanted to be sure.

As far as preventing ayula from getting too ramped up, if you're playing goblins that means red, pack some instant speed damage spells and wait for him to cast a bear spell, then zap ayula while the spell is still on the stack. Stuff like shock, lightning bolt, etc. There's plenty of good kill spells in red/black as well (devils) and black/green (gorgons). Of course it depends on what cards you have at your disposal, but basically I would pack as much removal as you can find, preferably cheap so that you can zap ayula early before it can get ramped up the first couple of times. If you can keep his board clear, especially of ayula, you can just sort of keep board advantage with some creatures since green doesn't have much in the way of removal. You can't bank on killing ayula via combat because tribals like that like to just hang back and save creatures and eat the damage till they're ready to overwhelm you.

What deck are you running? I'm not really into commander but just as a general rule, I'd guess the trick to beating tribals is to try and keep the board clear as much as possible, to keep them from ramping up too hard.
