I also think the nets are in no rush to make a move. Durant won't sit out, they don't care about Kyrie because he's getting 0 interest so he's stuck there. Durant is their only chance at salvaging anything, they're asking price is huge because it has to be.

This is going to sound a little unusual I think, but I think in some respects, the NBA fans and media are responsible for so many guys trying to chase rings nowadays because of the amount of (IMO, undue) weight we give championships. Kevin durant is an all time great player who I think is at least approaching comparison to MJ as to level of talent as a player. But how many times do you see KD in the GOAT discussion, and why? Championships.

Guys like KD want to be known as the best, but they never will be because they don't have the amount of championships that MJ does, and I don't think that's right. Even though I would have liked to see KD win it in OKC, I honestly don't think I can blame him doing what he feels he must to insert himself into that conversation. I don't think # of championships in a team sport should factor in as much as it does to how great a player is.

If they want to go brown + picks for durant I have no issue, but brown + other players would be a no go for me.

No one at all attacked you personally or even came close to HURRDURR. They disagreed with your opinion. Irrespective of that observation, Vince made a lot of people happy as well as miserable. He played up to the "carnie" origins of wrestling as long as he could. Better or worse, he built a megalith with WWE and cemented a legacy most would only dream of. He had a special eye and special perspective for his company. That will be missed.

The anime has already established via the structure of earlier season tournaments that 6 on 6 is the "serious business" portion of a tournament. This entire tournament is serious business, regardless of what the games say. And even outside of the games, stuff like smogon etc the main competitive format is 6v6. 3v3 is the warmup, 6v6 is the real stuff, that's what's been established.

Also I don't mind leon. I think it is a bit weird narrative wise though that leon is the literal strongest trainer in the world but we only just heard about him in this gen but I mean, obviously the devs wouldn't be thinking 9 gens ahead when they began making the anime/manga. There was never going to be an easy way to shoehorn a person like Leon into the plot.

Maybe with the new gen's gimmick being past and future we'll get ash's ancestor and descendant next!

Do the new games build off each other or are they standalone games?

More of the latter tbh, in that each game picks up not directly after the end of the previous one like Halo 3 did for Halo 2. Example: Halo 5 ends with basically the entirety of the UNSC AIs helping cortana take over the universe. Halo 6 picks up with the Banished faction led by atriox already having pounded cortana's faction into oblivion and suddenly atriox is the main bad guy again.

It feels really weird that the most premier tournament in the pokemon world is using 3v3 instead of 6v6 all the way through.

I don't have any personal animosity towards the spurs but they're one of those franchises that have been so consistently good that it's good to see them finally be crap for a change.

This is true, but what I'm saying is that although Gobert was overpriced, it still didn't eclipse the harden package, or even the AD package if you want my personal opinion. The Nets imo were always going to expect a harden-like package because durant is as good as harden was then. The gobert trade affects that 0.

The NBA having a cap on how many picks you can trade puts a hard ceiling on the trade market, and gobert did not hit that ceiling while harden did, this is why I don't think gobert's trade affects durant at all. It's not like the nets were gonna go "Well we were gonna do durant for 4 1sts and some players but after seeing gobert get this much now we'll ask for the farm" no they were going to always ask for the farm.

Harden went for the full bag of 4 1sts and 3 swaps (which is the de facto biggest 1st rd package any team can ever offer unless they also own other teams' picks), AND allen/levert/dinwiddie just a couple of years ago. There is 0 chance imo that the gobert trade has somehow outpriced the market for durant because the market was always going to be that. The nets HAVE to ask for too much, just like the rockets did with harden, because that's the only way they're getting out of this mess they created by giving the farm away for the aforementioned harden trade.

It also might just be a case of the nets not feeling beholden to the request. He's got what 4 years left? And the odds of him pulling a simmons seem less than...well, simmons. Might as well just wait till some team gets desperate, getting a haul of picks is the only way they can salvage this since houston owns all their stuff

I know this is incredibly vague, but figured worth a shot. Things I remember are that there's a set of several endlessly looping songs, each one paired with a different room meant to be used at certain times of day. For instance one of the rooms was like a family room/cafe during the daytime. One of the settings was driving along a highway in a trance-y city at night. One of them is in your room on a raining day in the evening next to a club or something. Some of these feature backgrounds with a person kind of lounging around in the room. There's a few more I didn't listen to, but it was several months ago and now I want to listen to them again and I can't remember the place.

I am so hyped

So I got into the breach since it's on sale and had that big update. Some thoughts:
-It's fun! I will be playing a lot more of it.

-It seems...easier? Than FTL. I got a victory on my first run, all 4 islands. I remember it took me foreeeeever to get my first win on FTL, it seems like it's because FTL has a bigger element of luck to it than this. There's lots of learning what the events do, etc in FTL, but in this it's purely tactical. I didn't even lose a mech.

-I didn't use much of the extra tactical stuff that you can get during post-island rewards, I spent p much all my stars on extra grid and reactors, a couple new weapons here or there. I kinda wonder if I should pour more stuff into reactors going forward though so I can get some better damage going, the last few maps were p tight.

-I really like the emphasis on survival. You don't have to kill everything, just keep everything alive, it makes everything a little bit more manageable, esp when you start to get to where you can't ohko stuff AND get outnumbered. I could probably stand to use my health as a disposable resource though for blocking new vek.

If playing basketball is his only concern, he wouldn't be asking for a trade imo. He wants to win imo, and he decides what he thinks is enough to win. If they ship him to a team and he's like "da f is this?" then that's a problem for that team.

KD might have been the one guy I wouldn't have worried about before this. But then he asked for a trade. So now I do. Not to mention him being friends with Kyrie makes me raise my eyebrows. Remember that he was on board for the nets lifting the team-restriction on kyrie when they started losing. I don't think he's as opposed to rather dubious methods as you might think. Maybe I'm jaded but I just do not feel good about it.

Well, by contract he does not, but tbh I wouldn't be surprised if after seeing simmons pout for a year and force his way out of philly, and just the overall flow of how stars just leave when they want now, that other teams view his desire to be there as a legitimate issue. Is he gonna play hard? Is he gonna play at all? Will it be bad for the locker room? Etc. Just speculation on my part but I wouldn't be surprised if the culture of the NBA now has an effect.

Well I'm not sure the deal would have worked cap wise if allen doesn't leave. He didn't go *directly* for harden but he was part of that deal so I'm counting it.

There was a time where they had durant/kyrie AND all those other pieces like allen etc. The mistake imo was trading all that for harden.

I think kcf is correct from an assets standpoint, but it's hard to argue against the way in which this has completely exploded the nets, and it's all about kyrie imo. Even harden, distaste you may have for him, it's basically understood harden's reason for wanting out is because he was tired of kyrie's BS and how the nets basically let it happen.
