To me it boils down to this: The manufacturer that makes the thing being scalped, when they put a price on something that they are the only makers of (IE xboxes, or another notable thing in its time was Nintendo Amiibos) has essentially said "this is what it's worth. You must pay this price to get it." Scalpers then take that and go "Nah actually, pay double/triple if you want the thing" despite having no authority from the retailer to do so. They are forcing people to pay more than the stated and understood value of an object to acquire said object.

Is that capitalism? Sure I guess, but to me personally this "level" of capitalism is unethical. A scalper has put in none of the work into the production, planning, or selling of the object as the retailer has done, and is actively taking advantage of other people who in some cases don't have the same level of technical acumen (as it's been stated, some people are writing actual code to snag all the product before "normal" people can), so to me it's just dishonest. If I am willing to pay the price that the retailer themselves have said is what is fair, and not willing to pay double that, that is not a me problem. That is a "scalper taking advantage of people" problem.

Question, Legendary Marth (the one iwth the fire emblem) has a bonus doubler effect on his weapon. If you were to give him the bonus doubler skill, would it essentially turn into bonus tripler? (Since I assume it doesn't double the double stats since those are combat only, but maybe it would double the base buffs that are active again?)

Also what are some good skills to give him because binding shield seems p situational

Gonna disagree with Emerald on the track for race 3. Not a fan of obstacles like the split where most just crash into it. Though Snowballs always seem to do well on weird track sections like the sand in r2 or the hive section in r3 so I cant help but like those. I thought the figure 8 was cool! And the overall race was amazing so hey what do I know.

alsoanother respectable finish for Snowy. Would love to see him get back on the podium or get a fastest lap point but at least hr stays top half. Seemed like he tried something different here making his big comeback move up the pack at the very start, but it didnt seem to work out for him.

The thing for me is that unlike actual race cars, marbles can only take one line based on the laws of physics if there's only track in front of them. To me, the obstacles put excitement into a race that's otherwise likely a bunch of marbles hugging the wall in a line because, well...they're marbles. To me the obstacles give that ability to pass that makes it feel more like an actual race. But hey, that's just me.

To clear it up: if it's a MLE or less contract, none of it would count towards their capspace. So they could sign him starting at $9.5 million and still use their cap on something else.

But if it's more than that amount, then they're no longer using their MLE and instead are using strictly capspace. Which if they waived Dedmon they could have closer to $15 million free towards a deal for Wood.

Doesn't the order in which they do things matter? I thought a team couldn't use an exception ifthey had cap space available. IE I thought it wasn't so much "MLE's don't affect cap space" as much as "you can use them when your'e over the cap anyway"

This fact right here to me seems the crux of the argument. Regardless of how crappy it is for nintendo do this, it also doesn't seem on the level to get nintendo to sponsor it, then after the fact go "oh btw we're using this software you don't like" and not expect pushback. If the problem lies in the fact that the tourney would've had to be cancelled because the organizers were not forthcoming with nintendo, that seems just as much a consequence the organizers should have to bear as it does nintendo being pretty petty about this.

In other words, nintendo is absolutely being dumb, but the organizers were ALSO being dumb if they intentionally tried to get one over on nintendo.

I don't see it that way. The "If the warriors land in the top 20" bit makes me see it as landing in the top 20 "in standings."(given he used standings for teh 21-30 bit) IE if the warriors are a top 10 team, they send the pick.

I don't recall them saying that would send Kiran back to the World of Steel. Blowing the horn just didn't work because Kiran thought he was Alfonse. Although since Alfonse is alive in the real world, it's no longer clear how things ended up with Kiran thinking he was Alfonse.

Perhaps I am misremembering but I thougth the Horn was supposed to return the user to their home world, and that Kiran was dreaming of the world of steel because it is his home world (though he didn't realize it since he thought he was alfonse.) So I thought the reason the horn didn't work was because he was thinking of askr as his home world when it was really the world of steel. Him realizing that he was not alfonse I wouldn't think would change the fact that askr was not his home world, thus shouldn't have allowed the horn to work, unless I"m misunderstanding something.

yeah iirc the deadline is 3 months or december 15th, the later of the two. That's why they tried a S&T deal to specifically bypass that but the player has to agree to a S&T.

Danny Green traded to Philly for Horford, a 1st and a 2nd.

I don't care how much cap relief you get, trading two picks for Green is absolute insanity. It's crazy how much draft picks are devalued in the NBA when in the NFL and especially the NHL they're worth a newborn son.

It's not so much that they're paying for green, it's taht they're paying to get rid of horford. It's been commonly understood that horford was such an albatross that philly would certainly have to part with assets to offload him somewhere. Given that the first is a lightly protected in 2025, I'd say the sixers got off quite easily honestly. Sixers were in such dire straits I'd have asked for TWO firsts.

As far as picks being devalued, I think part of that is because of how much of a crapshoot even outside the top 5 becomes once you hit that point. In the NFL, the gap between 2 and 5 is much smaller than it is in the NBA, where there's seemingly much less impactful talent than in the NFL. So teams are much more willing to part with them because the floor is much lower than in the NFL. In the NFL, a 20th overall pick is expected to be a relatively solid starter. In the NBA, you're lucky if such a player even cracks the rotation.
