Welcome everyone, to the playoff round! First off, let me say a big thank you for everyone who picked during the season, especially those who were out of the running but picked anyway. This competition wouldn't exist without you all, so thanks a bunch for playing.

So the rules for this wildcard round, the top 4 in the final standings from the regular season get to sit this round out! The rest of the 8 who made it (yes it was an even 12, no ties needed), I'll list the games here the same as usual, HOWEVER, due to the potential of the equivalent of screen-cheating because of the low amount of games (IE people changing their picks based on what others do), the playoffs are always done via PM.

However, me being the host, I would normally take the PM's but since I am in this, I will have someone not in the competition take the picks for me, and he will send them to me once the games are locked in. Same rules apply, you can change your picks anytime before the games lock, but do be mindful of making a ton as since these are done via PM, it can be quite inconvenient if there's a bunch in a row. Think carefully before making them.

Merry Christmas everyone! Tis the final week of the regular season, so just a refresher on what's gonna happen for the playoffs if you make it. It's the top 12 plus ties. The top 4 will be exempt from the wild card round, but to avoid a scenario in which somehow like 10 people tie for 4th, there will be a couple of tiebreaker questions to go with picks. This is ONLY for determining first round bye purposes, not making the playoffs, so you don't have to answer them if you don't feel like you'll get that position.

Our best of week 16 were @HBJDubs and @Xuxon with 13 wins! Upset of the week, NO ONE picked the cardinals to best the seahawks, 2nd time this season I believe that a 0 picked team has won.

I'm pretty sure star wars has introduced the concept of space lanes, which are pre-determined acceptable courses from which a ship can perform lightspeed travel, specifically to avoid any sort of mid-flight collisions. So you can really only use the holdo at very short distances, otherwise there's a good chance you bonk into some random asteroid or another passerby ship, especially in a dense dogfight.

There's also the possibility, since it was outlined in your guidelines, that kevin meets his end before the supermen even get there by trying to advance technology all by himself by thousands of years in some science experiment gone wrong. Maybe he tries to create a new element in the periodic table that would be capable of destroying superman and it blows up the earth. Or creates a black hole. Or creates a virus, etc. That would count as being at his own hand.

Kevin is a kid who
A) Has to know that kryptonite is the only way to effectively neutralize superman
B) Has to know where to find kryptonite on earth, of which there is a limited amount
C) Has to know how to utilize said limited amount of kryptonite in the most effective way, and even that might not be enough if there's not a lot of kryptonite.

Being, you know, a kid, I think it's reasonable to assume he has one of those capabilities right off the bat, no points for guessing which one correctly. Given infinite time, it's possible he eventually finds all the available kryptonite, but that might not be possible given I imagine some if not all of it is heavily locked down and being a kid, he'd have no way to know or learn how to get past any safeguard. Even if, against all expectation, he devised some means to adequately handle many supermen, the supermen could just suicide bomb him and gradually unveil all the traps he prepared until there were no more. And if the traps aren't kryptonite based as there is a limited supply of kryptonite, then the trapped supermen by those traps won't even be trapped permanently, so there is essentially a near infinite amount of supermen with which to spring traps.

So apparently wizards announced on their regularly scheduled timing yesterday that there would be no bans in any format, but also that there would be no more regularly schedule ban time, and they would not give future announcement if they planned to ban something. In essence, they can ban what they want, when they want, with no warning.
