My most recent order just arrived, and the most noteworthy thing in there was a salted caramel oolong. It's a very sweet tea, but it's rising to the top of my favourites list very quickly

Shame it was a Halloween specialty tea and apparently they already stopped making it.

Dunno if you still come here @BTB but thanks for all the hard work.

The mod looks fantastic.

God's, I remember beta testing it a ridiculously long time ago. It likely looks nothing like how it was when I played it. I should give it another go.

That said, I see it pop up on videos here and there so it's gotten really popular in the gaming community, which is nice to see.

Therion is my least favourite character in that game.

I liked him and his overall story well enough. But he was pretty terrible in battle. I chose him as the main character so I took him with me for everything, and it would have been so much better to have Olberic or H'aanit if I wanted another damage dealer, or just Primrose because she's more versatile.

Not that it matters though until late late game because Cyrus just nukes everything in sight

I don't believe "punishing" is the right word here. They aren't being punished. Nothing is being taken away from them. They made their plans, they still get the time off to enact the plans. Nothing has changed for them in the slightest.

Everyone else got a bonus, they got things as they were agreed to. Does it feel good? Not necessarily, but it's certainly not a punishment.

B if the office is closed for an unexpected reason (the company is not giving you a day off, they just have nothing for you to do)

A if the company decided to make some random day a day off (the company is giving you a day off, which has value, and you haven't received that value unless your vac. day is refunded)

pretty sure this is not just how it should be, but how it is, at least where I work. vacation days and official days off actually have monetary value and can't just be ignored.

This is where I lean as well, and exactly how my office works.

Sure, it's unfortunate that your vacation day happened to align with the snow day, but you were under no obligation to try and make it to work prior to being told not to bother. You don't have to worry about getting a phone call at noon saying that the weather is clear - please come to work. You may not even be in the city or country. Just accept that it's still a vacation day as everything was easier for you - just treat it how you normally would.

Option B though? They are just giving the day off, presumably with some notice. That should just apply universally. Everyone is told ahead of time they'll get it off and can make their own plans accordingly.

I don't get this mentality. Why is work that isn't labor intensive not difficult? Why discount potentially 16+ hour days that actors have to work, with changing shifts between days and nights depending on what needs to be filmed? Is that not considered hard work and dedication?

I can understand thinking they're overpaid, but this weird gatekeeping of what is considered hard work and what isn't is just wrong.

I was in a union once. They threatened to kick me out (effectively making it so I would be fired) because I refused to walk the picket lines when I was preparing/writing finals in University.

Note that I didn't cross the picket lines, I just told them I wouldn't show up and therefore they don't need to pay me strike pay. Then I got phone calls from lawyers and it was a whole mess. I still don't dislike unions, but boy did that put a damper on how I viewed them.

So 6 vehicles. Sold the first three, traded in the Oldsmobile during a "cash for clunkers" event to get the Fiesta. Fiesta got totalled when someone ran a red light and t-boned me.

The Fiesta was also the worst vehicle of the bunch. I hated that car, and insurance gave me far more than it was worth. So it worked out.

I used to go quite often, but since I live with my girlfriend, the only time I go to the movies is gonna be with her.

There's generally stigma about doing literally anything in public on your own. Going to movies, going to a restaurant, traveling, etc etc.

Society as a whole has a hard time grasping that sometimes people don't want to deal with other people, but they also don't want to stay at home with the blinds closed and the lights off. It's a shame really.

Doesn't matter. Shitty system.

It's actually pretty important that they have separate bars to clear. The criminal system has such a high bar as prison time of any length is inexcusable if you're wrong. So they should be taking all precautions possible to make sure no one is wrongly convicted, even if that does mean some people walk free.

The civil courts though? That's largely filled with "he said she said" situations. All of which would need to be thrown out if held to the same level of scrutiny. Judges need a bit more leeway to make sure things are fair, and the worst case scenario for the judge being wrong in those cases usually isn't life ending for the other person.

When you're backing up, you're trying to put distance between you and the opponent. It's natural to want to block your opponent's attacks while trying to put distance. Also, back blocking enables charge characters, which puts variety in the game.

Wouldn't that make it more casual though? Having the game automatically block for you while retreating takes less skill, not more.

So if making it too casual is one of your criteria, I would think you'd be in favour of a separate button to block, as timing the block would take more skill.

Umm so why isnt youre union stepping in if your employer is taking advantage of you? Isnt that what unions are for?

Unions don't just automatically step in and interfere with every decision. They have to actually know about it.

They're generally only involved during contract negotiations or if someone is getting fired. Anything else pretty much has to be initiated by the employee. The union couldn't possibly keep track of everything that's going on, but if he talks with a rep they may find something that's against the collective agreement and tell them to stop it.
