I dunno I might still switch from Falco. I liked him so much when the game came out because it was a huge step up from up 4 but people are better at the game now. Neutral feels pretty bad, I've realized I've always gotten my combos started because I'm good at reading people and less so because I can directly outplay. In other words I'm a very reactive player, but I'm not good at applying pressure.

It's funny because in high school I was like top 2 or 3, and the other best player was kinda my opposite. Super good at aggression and panicking me but always complained that I psyched him out because he didn't expect me to roll into ledge or stuff like that.

I think the most interesting aspect to me was Lain's slow burial by monstrous technology in her own room and her drifting away from the real world, since it kinda speaks to the present day. But it seems that plot point was more a means than an end.

I thought the stuff in Ep13 about the loneliness of God being kinda interesting.

Altogether, this was absolutely inscrutable. Worse than the denser Coen Brothers movies. I at least agree that it's "Avant-Garde." It's the first anime I've seen that is profoundly and unapologetically not audience-friendly.

Most of the things in the story felt only partially developed at least from this single viewing. I stand by my bafflement over the real-world stuff. There was also "Accelera" as one example. My initial guess is that it's to emphasize the idea of the body being a machine like a processor? I know the Knights symbol precedes the sister's seeming mental breakdown but I don't know what further meaning that sequence had, or her mimicking of a cell phone.

Duel Monsters & 5Ds are the GOATs, Zexal/Arc-V are alright but have their flaws (turn off Arc-V at ep50 lol), and VRAINS squandered good character & monster designs with the boringest writing I've ever witnessed in an animated show

Realistically Yugioh is a garbage game outside of the show. Always has been really. First several years, every deck was exactly the same. Everyone ran some form of beatdown deck with the same cards. Then the game slowly evolved into a few different one turn combo kills. They try to keep ahead of it with the banlist, but they've never been able to create a format with multiple viable decks that weren't just combo on turn kill decks. Its beyond me how people who play it are satisfied with it to be honest.
