And the game won't even recognize my DualSense even though Steam configuration is fully set up for it.

God fucking damnit none of my controllers fucking work anymore. Xbox controller disconnects randomly, Switch Controller is fucking backwards, and the DualSense is a giant pile of incompatible shit with a 2 hour battery life.

Is there a single setting that can change this or will I need to fiddle with all the controls? There's a different menu for everything-- 'Adventure', 'Battle Command', 'Battle During Input', -- on an on.

You make it sound like one of those artsy things that you can just watch on yt.

The moment to moment gameplay is talking. That may sound youtube-able but I assure you, you will be absolutely missing out if you just watch a playthrough. You tend to have anywhere from 3 to 7 dialogue options at any time that changes the flow of the conversation. The game is open-ended in how you approach completing objectives and there can be a lot of joy just in walking around new places because you never know what you'll discover that your crazy protagonist can mold into furthering the investigation.

The dialogue you choose as well as the 'Thoughts' you cultivate in your Thought Cabinet (which are sort of like perks in a more traditional RPG) can change how your partner perceives you, what the voices in your head comment on, how you might actually talk to people, and what secret side stuff you can unlock and do. Unlike a typical RPG where you build a character's fighting prowess, in Disco Elysium you're building a new perspective for the amnesiac protagonist's shattered mind.

X360ce and Xoutput both see the controller, but won't recognize its button presses when trying to bind buttons to xinput.

I stopped watching during that tournament arc with the girl that could impersonate other people.

I felt like the show really underutilized its large cast after a while, and there were rarely consequences to high stakes situations. The only exception being things happening to All Might which were a given.

Based on what I see occasionally of new manga chapters, I don't regret stopping.

Oh that's fair, it would have been more precise for me to say that back then text seemed limited by a combination of resolution, translation, and scope.

I think Bloodborne is the second or third best From game after Sekiro and Elden Ring. And I played it on PC through PSnow, so I can only imagine how good it is with DLC and a comprehensible resolution.

The thing with playing actual SNES rpgs is I can often feel the limitations of the time of their release, whether in gameplay, world design or script.

The one SNES RPG that truly wowed was Chrono Trigger during the trial where the prosecutor goes over all your actions like if you pick up the necklace before talking to the girl. And also a heads up to Earthbound and Mario RPG for presentation.

Pixel RPGs made today let developers combine lovely pixel sprite graphics with more robust engines, more complex battle systems and world design, and better access to good writers.

As an old school Trek fan that doesn't like modern Trek, but who is also just 21 and doesn't have nostalgia for 80s TV shows: I think ST Picard is just bad.

The characters are not good. The dialogue is not good. The directing is not Trek at all.

Modern Trek tries to carry scenes with camera pans around special effects, dramatic swelling music, and emotional platitudes for dialogue. Old school Trek was all about meaningful and nuanced dialogue and exchanges.

Imagine how this scene would be tackled in Star Trek Picard. It would be unrecognizable because shot/reverse-shot close-ups of two people talking is not a dramatic enough climax for a show intended to carry Paramount+ subscriptions.

I like game environments where it's just something normal like a living room or garden, but because your character is small you have a totally different perspective on it.
